Marvel Rivals Season 11 Rank Reset: You Drop 3 Divisions, Not 6 (Nov 13 Rules)

Quick answer (TL;DR): The next Marvel Rivals rank reset comes with Season 11 on Friday, November 13, 2026, the last date on NetEase's Season 10.5 roadmap. The start time isn't printed yet; Season 10 and 10.5 both began at 09:00 UTC. Under the rules in force since Season 5, a returning player's predicted rank is their Season 10 final rank minus 3 divisions, followed by 10 placement matches. Celestial II and above all start at Grandmaster II. Finishes from Bronze III to Silver III all start at Bronze III. Since Season 7, personal performance can also move your result by up to 100 points either way. NetEase's Season 11 notes aren't out yet, so check them when they land.

Updated November 2, 2026, on Season 10.5 (latest patch Version 20261029). We'll update this page when the Season 11 notes go live.

Search for this reset and you'll get three different answers. Some guides say six divisions, Beebom's ranks guide currently says seven, and the official rule says three. The gap is big enough to change how you should spend the next 11 days.

This weekend, a thread on r/marvelrivals about ranked matchmaking drew a familiar reply: stop playing until Season 11. Under the current rule that advice has a cost: your rank on November 13 is what the new season subtracts from. Below is what you'll start at, where extra climbing stops helping, and which heroes to bring to placements.

When does the Marvel Rivals rank reset happen?

November 13, 2026. Season 11 is the last card on the official Season 10.5 roadmap, and Season 10.5 ends the same day. NetEase hasn't printed an hour yet. If Season 11 keeps the slot used by Season 10 and Season 10.5, maintenance starts at 09:00 UTC, with about two hours of downtime going by 10.5:

RegionExpected maintenance start (Nov 13)
Los Angeles1:00 AM PST
New York4:00 AM EST
London9:00 AM GMT
Berlin10:00 AM CET
Moscow12:00 PM MSK

US clocks went back on November 1, so that's an hour earlier on the wall clock than the Season 10.5 launch. Don't leave a promotion for the final hour: the cutoff time isn't official yet. Season 10.5 itself didn't reset anything, and half-seasons don't. Dates, heroes and leaks are in our Season 11 release date guide.

How many divisions do you drop in the Season 11 rank reset?

Three, as a starting point. The six you'll still see comes from Dev Talk Vol.10 in February 2025, and the seven comes from the Season 3 and Season 4 patch notes. NetEase dropped flat resets for placement matches in Season 5, and this is the rule for anyone who has already finished placements:

"If you've completed 10 placements and received a true rank in a previous season, future initial estimated ranks are based on your last season's final rank minus 3 sub-tiers." — NetEase, Marvel Rivals Season 5 patch notes (Version 20251114)

Three divisions is exactly one tier, so your division number stays the same and the tier name goes down by one. Gold I becomes Silver I. That's only your predicted rank, though. NetEase uses it for matchmaking while you play your 10 placements, and the rank you actually receive comes after those games.

The Season 10 notes and Season 10.5 notes list only the Gold costume under ranked. Neither touches placements, so the Season 5 and Season 7 rules are the current ones going into November 13.

What rank will you start Season 11 at?

Find your rank on November 13 in the left column. The right column comes from the Season 5 rule that you can be placed "up to 1–2 divisions above your previous season's final rank" and never above Celestial I.

A 5–5 placement run lands you close to your predicted rank, according to the Season 5 notes. Season 7 then added a separate layer:

"Every placement match now tracks your individual performance (not tied to teammates). After ten placement matches, your rank will be adjusted between -100 and +100 competitive points based on your personal results and tier." — NetEase, Season 7 patch notes (Version 20260320)

Every 100 points is one division, so that's roughly one division up or down based on how you played. NetEase hasn't published the formula, the stats it reads, or whether the Season 5 ceiling still applies alongside it. Treat the right-hand column as a guide, not a promise.

What if you've never finished placements?

First-timers follow a different path. If you've played 10+ ranked matches in a season, you get the higher of two estimates: last final rank minus 3, or a reduced version of your best historical rank capped at Platinum II. If you've never played 10 ranked matches in a season, you start at Silver III. Ranked itself opens at account level 15.

Which ranks are worth climbing to before November 13?

Not every division counts the same. The reset has a floor and a ceiling, and that's where players waste time. Numbers below come from RivalsTracker's Season 10.5 rank data, which covers about 583,000 tracked PC profiles. It isn't an official census, and console players aren't in it.

  • Silver II is the first division that moves your start. Bronze III through Silver III all begin at Bronze III. That's roughly 19.7% of the tracked profiles, and Silver III alone is 12.31%, the biggest division on the ladder.
  • Platinum III puts your predicted rank in Gold. Bans begin at Gold III, and the half-season Gold costume needs you to finish at Gold or higher, so starting there means you aren't climbing for it from Silver.
  • Celestial II is the ceiling. Past it, your start stays at Grandmaster II. Only about 1.5% of tracked profiles sit there, and pushing higher is about crests and leaderboard pride, not your next season.

Two rewards are also decided on November 13: the Jeff the Land Shark Razor-Tooth Gold costume and your Season 10 crest. Both go by the rank you finish on, not your peak. The costume also needs 10 ranked matches played in Season 10.5. Our rank rewards guide covers that deadline in full.

So if you're in Bronze, or already at Celestial II or above, one more division won't change your Season 11 start. From Silver III up to Celestial III, it will.

What are the placement rules for Season 11?

The Season 5 notes have several rules that most reset guides skip. These are the ones that cost people rewards:

  • Finish all 10 games. The notes say: "If you don't finish all placement matches this season, you will not receive any season rewards."
  • Finish them in Season 11.0 if you want that half's costume. Each half's Gold costume needs 10 ranked matches in that half and a Gold-or-higher finish. If your 10th placement slips into the second half, you can still earn season-end rewards, but not both costumes.
  • Parties cap at three. While anyone is in placements, the group can't exceed three players, and the highest and lowest ranks must be less than 3 divisions apart.
  • Your party plays at the top rank. Matchmaking anchors to the highest-ranked player in the group, so a higher friend can pull your placements into harder lobbies.
  • A disconnect can cost you twice. If you drop and the match ends more than 90 seconds later, you take a placement loss and a ranked suspension, whatever the result.
  • Top tiers stay restricted. Bronze to Grandmaster can queue in any size except a five-stack. Celestial and above is solo or duo only.

Which heroes should you play in placements?

Play what you're best at first. Since Season 7 your placements track personal performance, and an unpracticed meta pick is the easy way to waste it. If you want a second or third hero to prepare, use the time before November 13 and choose picks that won't get banned from under you. Bans start at Gold III, with 3 per team.

Marvel Rivals team fight gameplay, the kind of match your 10 Season 11 placements are played in

This table will age. No balance change has shipped since Version 20261009, but Season 11 will almost certainly bring one. The last two balance posts arrived three days before their updates (Season 10 on September 8, Season 10.5 on October 6), so expect the next one around November 10. NetEase promised two new heroes for Season 11 in Dev Vision Vol. 21 but hasn't named them. The Doctor Doom and Nightcrawler leak is still unconfirmed.

What should you do in the 11 days before the reset?

  • Today: check your rank against the table. From Silver III up to Celestial III, each division still moves your start. In Bronze or at Celestial II and above, play for rewards instead.
  • November 2–9: do your real climbing on your two best heroes per role. Stop after two straight losses, since a tilted session can undo several days.
  • Around November 10: read the balance post and rethink any placement pick that took a real nerf.
  • November 11–12: protect your rank. If you've hit a target like Platinum III, one bad night can cost you the division, so play only if you can afford to lose it.
  • After launch: play placements on a stable connection and with a party inside the 3-division limit. Finish all 10 in Season 11.0.

FAQ

When is the next rank reset in Marvel Rivals? November 13, 2026, when Season 11 starts. It's the last date on NetEase's Season 10.5 roadmap. The start time isn't printed yet, but Seasons 10 and 10.5 both began at 09:00 UTC.

Does Marvel Rivals reset your rank every season? Every full season, yes. Half-seasons such as Season 10.5 keep your rank.

How many ranks do you lose in the Season 11 reset? Your predicted rank is three divisions below your Season 10 final rank, which is one full tier. Celestial II and above start at Grandmaster II, and Bronze III to Silver III start at Bronze III. Your 10 placements then set your actual rank.

Can you rank higher after placements than you ended last season? Yes. The Season 5 notes allow placement up to 1–2 divisions above your previous final rank, but never above Celestial I. NetEase hasn't restated that limit since adding the Season 7 performance adjustment.

Do you have to play placements right away? No, but you must finish all 10 to receive season rewards, and finish them in Season 11.0 to be eligible for that half's Gold costume.

Does my peak rank affect the reset? Not for returning players. The Season 5 notes say the highest rank achieved is no longer taken into account once you've finished placements before. Only your final rank counts.
