TL;DR: what is Zodiac in Warzone?
Quick answer: Zodiac is Warzone's new Resurgence map, live now since Season 1 launched on November 6, 2026. It's a compact map built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone factory headquarters in South Korea, with 10 POIs: Admin, Trackline, Furnace, Solar, Old Mines, Dispatch, Depot, Sentinel, Cooling and R&D. Its signature features are moving trains that carry loot, underground tunnels, and new movable objects you can push into cover or traps. Zodiac hosts Resurgence, Resurgence Casual, Loaded Resurgence and the 20-player Rally Point mode. It was built by Beenox with Infinity Ward, the team behind Rebirth Island and Vondel.
The numbers that matter (all official):
- 10 Points of Interest on Zodiac.
- ~25% fewer train spawns than in the MW4 beta, because trains were handing out too much high-tier loot.
- 0–5 Legendary and 4–12 Basic Supply Boxes per train.
- 20 players in Rally Point on Zodiac, 44 in Loaded Resurgence.
- 7 movable object types in Season 1, marked with an X.
Is the Warzone Zodiac map out yet?
Yes. Zodiac went live with Warzone Season 1 at midnight ET on November 6, 2026 (9 PM PT on November 5), on every platform, including the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warzone. PS4 and Xbox One lost Warzone that same day. See our PS4 and Xbox One support explainer if you're still on last-gen.
If you played the MW4 beta, you've seen Zodiac before. It was the Resurgence map in the summer beta (our beta-era Zodiac explainer covers that version), and the Season 1 patch notes include a whole "Improvements Since Beta" block for it. More on that below.
Activision's own one-line description is the clearest summary of the map:
"Experience Resurgence on the all-new Zodiac, a compact combat zone built around the DRC Advanced Systems drone assembly and manufacturing headquarters in South Korea." (Call of Duty Staff, Warzone Season 1 intel, November 2, 2026)
Zodiac shares its region with Hajin, the new Battle Royale map. Hajin is the big map, Zodiac is the small one. Both are tied to the Korean setting of the MW4 campaign.
What are all 10 POIs on Zodiac?
Activision names all ten. It singles out three as "key locations" and lists the other seven as places for "looting, ambushes, and establishing defensive positions". The labelled intel map at the top of this page is Activision's own, published with the MW4 beta guide. Reading it west to east, the railway enters past Dispatch, runs through Trackline in the middle and exits past R&D and Sentinel. Admin and Solar sit in the north-west, Old Mines in the north-east hills, Depot and Furnace below the tracks, and Cooling on the southern waterfront.
| POI | What Activision says it is | Official notes |
|---|---|---|
| Admin | "The central administrative tower" | Named key location; the DRC tower with "towering offices" |
| Trackline | Double railway that cuts across the facility | Named key location; moving trains run here |
| Furnace | Industrial area built around heavy manufacturing equipment | Named key location; furnace conveyor belts are interactive |
| R&D | Research facilities | One of the seven support POIs |
| Solar | Support POI | Moving solar panels are listed as an interactive element on the map |
| Old Mines | Mine area | Visibility improved here after the beta |
| Sentinel | Includes the Sentinel Overpass | Visibility improved around the Overpass after the beta |
| Dispatch | Support POI | Listed for looting, flanking and ambushes |
| Depot | Support POI | Listed for looting, flanking and ambushes |
| Cooling | Support POI | Listed for looting, flanking and ambushes |
That intel map dates from the beta, but the Season 1 intel and patch notes list the same ten POIs. Anything claiming more than ten isn't from Activision.
Our read on where to drop: Trackline is the map's centre and its loot magnet, because the trains run through it (next section). Expect the busiest fights there. Admin's tower is the tallest structure on the map, so it's the high-ground anchor in the north-west corner. Old Mines and the sewer routes are the quiet way to rotate, since they connect to the underground network. For a calmer start, edge POIs like Cooling, Solar and Sentinel are a long way from the middle of the map.
How do the trains on Zodiac work?
Trains are Zodiac's loot event. According to the intel post, "Trackline's double railway system and moving trains add an unpredictable layer to the action." The Season 1 patch notes give the hard numbers:
- Each train holds 0–5 Legendary Supply Boxes and 4–12 Basic Supply Boxes.
- Train spawn rates were cut by roughly 25% since the beta "to address the abundance of high-tier loot."
So trains are still the richest moving loot on the map, just rarer than in the beta. A train can also roll up with zero Legendary boxes, so don't throw your whole squad at one blind. Our read: send one player to check the cars while the others hold the bridge, because every squad nearby knows exactly where the train is.
Zodiac also has breakable crates. The patch notes say they're on Zodiac and Rebirth Island, give "quick access to valuable loot", and can contain a Phone EXE, a Resurgence item that pays you Cash for as long as you hold it. Since the beta, crates also drop Lethal and Tactical Equipment, and are less likely to hold Perks, Killstreaks and Drop Kits.
Can you go underground on Zodiac?
Yes. Underground tunnels are one of the map's headline features. Activision says they "let squads slip beneath the battlefield and emerge from unexpected angles." The patch notes mention sewer routes and Old Mines as underground or low-light areas that got a visibility pass after the beta.
That visibility fix matters. Visibility is a common early complaint in the Warzone community. r/CODWarzone threads on November 7 (one, two) call out poor visibility, mostly on Hajin, and the official notes say Zodiac's dark areas were already tuned for it. If you still struggle in the tunnels, check brightness and filter settings before you blame your aim.
Our read: tunnels are rotation routes, not camping spots. In Resurgence your squad needs to stay alive to bring teammates back, and a tunnel exit is easy to pre-aim if an enemy saw you enter.
What are the new movable objects on Zodiac?
Season 1 adds physics objects you can push, pull or carry. The patch notes call them "identified by a distinctive 'X' marking", and the intel post says you'll find most of them on Hajin, Zodiac and Verdansk. There are seven types:
| Object | What it does (official) |
|---|---|
| Bollard | Heavy traffic bollard that blocks vehicles and creates choke points |
| Concrete Cylinder | Rolling cover you can crouch behind or climb inside, then push |
| Dumpster | Wheeled mobile cover; can block doorways or act as a weapon mount |
| Fuel Barrel | Explosive barrel you push or melee into place as a trap |
| Wooden Box | Cover or a step to reach high ground; the Grabber Drone can lift it onto roofs |
| Wooden Wedge | Movable ramp that helps vehicles clear obstacles |
| Wire Spool | Heavy object that takes more effort to move but gives substantial cover |
Zodiac adds its own map-specific hazards too: moving solar panels, furnace conveyor belts and explosive fuel barrels. Pair the barrels with the new Grabber Drone field upgrade, which can carry fuel barrels, and you can drop a trap right onto a squad holding a rooftop.

Which modes can you play on Zodiac?
Zodiac is a Resurgence-only map. Battle Royale runs on Hajin (and Verdansk later in the season). Here's what Activision lists for Zodiac in Season 1:
| Mode | Players | Map(s) | What's different |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resurgence | Standard | Zodiac (Rebirth Island in-season) | Core mode; Solos, Duos, Trios and Quads |
| Resurgence Casual | Standard | Zodiac (Rebirth Island in-season) | Casual variant; counts for Grind for Royalty |
| Loaded Resurgence | 44 | Zodiac, Rebirth Island (announced) | You spawn with your Loadout, keep weapons on death, earn Perks toward Specialist |
| Rally Point (LTM) | 20 | Zodiac | No gas circle, infinite Resurgence, drop-in/drop-out |
One thing to know about the playlist: in week 1, Resurgence is the only place to play Duos or Trios. Battle Royale launched with Solos and Quads only. Our Warzone playlist breakdown tracks what's live each week. Rebirth Island is tagged "In-Season" by Activision: Raven's week 1 graphic says it will be enabled shortly after launch, then it shares the Resurgence rotation with Zodiac. Check the in-game playlist before you queue for it. See what changed on Verdansk and Rebirth for Season 1.
What is Rally Point on Zodiac?
Rally Point is the new limited-time mode, and it runs only on Zodiac. Activision calls it "a training ground experience." The patch notes describe it as a 20-player mode with no gas circle, unlimited Resurgence, and drop-in/drop-out. You can stay a few minutes or a few hours. The key details:
- Hostile AI and events: Hostile Soldiers, Hostile Choppers, Bombing Drones, JLTV Deliveries and Elite Hostile reinforcements.
- Neutral Grounds: ceasefire zones with Loadout Stations, Redeploy Stations, Payout Stations (Cash based on your high score), and squad formation with other players, up to four per squad.
- A purchasable Nuke: one per match, first come, first served, bought at a Buy Station.
- Aerial Scanner: a Killstreak unique to Rally Point that reveals enemies through walls.
- Rewards: one exclusive Weapon Blueprint and two Weapon Camos.
Activision hasn't named the Rally Point blueprint or camos yet.
Our read: Rally Point is the lowest-stress way to learn Zodiac's ten POIs, the train route and the tunnels before you play ranked-feeling Resurgence. One caveat for camo hunters: the Grind for Royalty challenges that unlock the Season 1 "Gold Excellence" and "Gold Mosaic" camos only count in Battle Royale and Resurgence, not limited-time modes like Rally Point.
What changed on Zodiac since the MW4 beta?
The Season 1 patch notes list five "Improvements Since Beta" for Zodiac:
- Visibility and lighting: better Operator visibility, "particularly around the Sentinel Overpass, Old Mines, and sewer routes."
- Audio: improved footstep audio and ambient occlusion across the map.
- Legendary loot economy: train spawns cut by about 25%, with 0–5 Legendary and 4–12 Basic Supply Boxes per train.
- Breakable crate loot: Lethal and Tactical Equipment added; Perks, Killstreaks and Drop Kits made rarer.
- Loot clutter: less loot left lying around Supply Boxes, so items are easier to spot.
What Resurgence mechanics matter most on Zodiac?
Zodiac uses the Season 1 Resurgence rules. Two Resurgence-only systems and one new Season 1 feature from the official intel change how you play a small map like this:
- Weapon Trade Station: swap your current weapon for a random weapon of higher rarity. Fire Sales make trades better value.
- Drop Kits: four types boost your next redeploy. Insured (faster redeploy, keep all your Cash), Loadout (come back with your current Loadout), Armored (full Armor, bonus Armor Plates and a Self-Revive Kit) and Radar (an active Radar Ping, UAV and Supply Sweep).
- Weapon Augments (all of Warzone): drones drop "Fly Buy" portable Buy Stations that sell the three launch augments: Breacher (close range: ADS, sprint to fire, hipfire recoil), Sharpshooter (long range: velocity, damage range, horizontal recoil, idle sway) and Gunslinger (handling: reload, rechamber, slide to fire, first-shot recoil). Each costs $10,000 with a stock of 2. Only one augment fits a weapon, and it stays on the gun if you drop it.
On top of that come the 18 Season 1 Perks, including the three in-match Elite Perks. Our Warzone Perks guide has the full list.
Does Zodiac count toward Warzone camos and leveling?
Yes, for core progression. Zodiac matches feed the same Player Level and weapon progress as the rest of Warzone, though some challenges exclude modes (Grind for Royalty skips LTMs like Rally Point, as covered above). Season 1 reset Player Level and made it shared, so you "level up and optionally Prestige across Multiplayer, DMZ, and Call of Duty: Warzone." All 33 MW4 launch weapons in Warzone have their own Warzone Mastery Camos. Our Warzone mastery camo explainer covers Parallax, Damascus Reforged and Empyros.
That shared Player Level matters for one more reason. Legacy Blueprints from MWII through Black Ops 7 start locked in Season 1 and unlock with Player XP in the Armory. Our carry forward guide explains how. So any XP, including Multiplayer XP, pushes you toward your old guns. Resurgence's fast respawns make Zodiac a good place to work on Warzone weapon camos.
