Epic flying in TBC Anniversary is Artisan Riding — riding skill 300, and it costs 5,000 gold. We cover the gold and the purchase from $85.49; entry-level Expert Riding at 60% is $15.29.

Budget the full 5,000g. A lot of guides repeat “4,000g at Exalted with Honor Hold or Thrallmar”. That reputation discount on Artisan Riding was added in a Wrath-era patch — the Anniversary realms are on 2.x, so there is no evidence it applies here, and Blizzard has not said it does. Plan for 5,000g and treat a discount as a bonus.

Why it matters right now:

  • Netherwing needs a flying mount to reach the Ledge at all, and 300 riding skill to progress past Neutral or to ride any of the drakes;
  • Phase 3 dailies, Ogri’la and Skyguard content are all built around flight;
  • gold farmed at 60% speed is gold farmed slowly — epic flying pays for itself on a character you actually play.
