Two bosses, 25 players, no attunement — and there never was one. $89.99. Gruul's Lair and Magtheridon's Lair are the two TBC raids that have always been walk-in, which is exactly why they are where a casual 70 starts raiding.
The run: High King Maulgar with his council of four ogre mages — five targets that have to be tanked at once, the fight that filters bad pug groups — then Gruul the Dragonkiller, whose Growth stacks and Shatter punish a raid that will not spread out. It is a short lockout, usually well under an hour.
The Tier 4 tokens, correctly:
- High King Maulgar drops the shoulder token;
- Gruul the Dragonkiller drops the leg token;
- the tokens are Fallen Defender (druid, priest, warrior), Fallen Hero (hunter, mage, warlock) and Fallen Champion (paladin, rogue, shaman).
Gruul does not drop gloves. The Tier 4 hands token is The Curator in Karazhan, the head is Prince Malchezaar and the chest is Magtheridon. Rival pages put the gloves here constantly; you would buy the wrong raid for the slot you need.
Where it fits: Karazhan for head and hands, Gruul's Lair for shoulders and legs, Magtheridon's Lair for the chest. Three no-attunement raids, one full Tier 4 set, and none of them require you to have done anything first.
Anniversary bonus: raid bosses drop an extra tier token, so a lockout here is worth more than it was in original TBC.
How it is delivered: piloted by default, self-play if you want to be in the raid, or Self-play Remote for 30% more. Manual play, no bots.
