Applies to: Battlefield 6 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Game Update 1.4.3.5 was published by EA on September 28, 2026 and downloadable from 08:00 UTC on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. It is a quality-of-life patch that lands during Season 4: Tidal Strike, on top of the major update 1.4.3.0 from September 15.

Quick Answer

  • Update 1.4.3.5 is a small quality-of-life patch, not a balance patch. EA describes it as "a smaller quality-of-life update featuring targeted fixes across menus, the HUD, social features, game modes, maps, AI behaviour, and general stability."
  • The PS5 scope-border bug is finally addressed, across exactly ten optics: SU-123, CCO, Ro-M, 2PRO, 3VZR, R4T, 1P86 Variable, 1p88 Variable, NFX and SSDS.
  • Zero weapon balance changes. No damage, recoil or velocity values were touched. The 1.3.3.0 ballistics pass from earlier in the year still governs every gun in the game, so nothing in your loadout priority order changes today.
  • The Top Gun skins are no longer class-locked. Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw and Lt. Robert "Bob" Floyd can now be worn on any NATO class.
  • Eight fixes hit maps, modes, AI and the HUD, including two invisible barriers removed inside a Wake Island bunker and the minimap finally displaying while you are downed.
  • REDSEC gets two fixes: a floating zipline in the Tech Campus elevator shaft and platform icons in the Proximity Chat "Recent Interactions" menu.
  • Players report at least three things it did not fix. Those are community reports, not EA statements, and they are flagged as such further down.

Battlefield 6 patches have arrived in two flavours since launch. There are the big numbered drops like 1.4.3.0, which rebuilt reticles and rebalanced the Interdictor, and there are the half-step releases like this one, which exist to sweep up what the big drop broke or missed. Update 1.4.3.5 is squarely the second kind, and it is short enough that you can read the whole thing in ninety seconds.

That is not the same as it being unimportant. Buried in fourteen changelog entries is the one fix a large chunk of the PlayStation 5 player base has been waiting on for two weeks, a cosmetic unlock that community feedback directly caused, and a conspicuous absence: nothing in this patch touches a single weapon stat. Below is every line of the update, what it actually means in a match, and the honest list of things players say are still broken.

When did Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.3.5 go live?

EA's note carries a publication date of September 28, 2026 and states: "At 08:00 UTC tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30, players will be able to download the update across all platforms."

Two things worth knowing about that sentence. First, the deploy is a single simultaneous window at 08:00 UTC across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, rather than the staggered download-then-content split EA used for the major 1.4.3.0 release, which separated an 08:00 UTC download from a 12:00 UTC content unlock. A quality-of-life patch has no new content to gate, so there is only one time to care about.

Second, the word "tomorrow" does not line up with the September 28 date stamp on the page. Treat the calendar date as authoritative: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, 08:00 UTC. That is 09:00 BST, 10:00 CEST, 04:00 ET and 01:00 PT. The update went live on schedule, and community [BFComms] threads confirming it were posted on both r/Battlefield and r/Battlefield6 within hours.

What are the key updates in 1.4.3.5?

EA groups the patch under three headline pillars, quoted verbatim from the update page:

PillarEA's description
More Reliable Menus and HUD"Social information, the downed-state minimap, and End of Round navigation now behave more consistently."
Cleaner Match Experience"Targeted map, mode, and AI updates reduce disruptive environment issues and improve behaviour during matches."
PS5 and Stability Improvements"Game launch reliability, optic presentation, and Spectator mode stability have been improved."

Three pillars, fourteen changelog entries, no new content. That ratio is the whole patch in one number.

Did 1.4.3.5 fix the PS5 scope borders?

Yes, for ten named optics. This is the headline fix and the reason the patch exists as a standalone release.

Background: when Game Update 1.4.3.0 shipped its reticle overhaul on September 15, PlayStation 5 players reported unusually thick black scope borders that ate a meaningful chunk of the screen when aiming down sights. EA acknowledged it at the time and said a fix was targeted at update 1.4.3.5, "arriving in a few weeks". That was a patch number and a vague window, never a calendar date, and EA delivered it fifteen days later.

The changelog line reads: "Scope edges now display at the intended thickness on PS5 for the following optics: SU-123, CCO, Ro-M, 2PRO, 3VZR, R4T, 1P86 Variable, 1p88 variable, NFX, and SSDS."

That is ten optics. The practical effect is that your usable field of view while aiming is restored on PS5, which matters most on the variable-zoom optics in the list, where the border was proportionally largest. If you run one of those ten and you are on PlayStation 5, this is the only line in the patch that will change how the game feels.

Worth being precise about the scope of the claim: EA fixed a named list, not the optic system. Players on r/Battlefield6 have already posted examples of reticles altered by paid store bundles that they say are still displaying the thick border after the patch. One described the affected sight as a 1.25x reticle from a weapon-skin bundle and noted it was a purchased cosmetic. EA has not commented on bundle-altered optics, and no changelog line covers them, so treat that as an open community report rather than a confirmed second bug.

If your optic is not on the list of ten and still looks wrong, it was not in scope for this patch.

Grinding the attachment unlocks rather than the bug reports? Every optic in that list sits behind weapon-specific progression, and 1.4.3.5 did not change a single unlock requirement.

What changed for players and cosmetics?

The PLAYER section carries the patch's only dev note, and it is a direct response to community pressure. EA's wording:

"Based on community feedback, we've removed the class restrictions from the Lt. Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw and Lt. Robert 'Bob' Floyd character skins. Both can now be used with any NATO class, giving players more flexibility to use their Top Gun cosmetics across the battlefield."

The two Top Gun skins arrived with the Season 4 Phase 2 collaboration and were each pinned to a single class, which meant buying or earning them also meant committing to a class you may not want to play. That restriction is gone. A second line cleans up the display side: "The skin icons for the Bob and Rooster soldier characters no longer display class-specific gadgets."

Three other player-facing fixes land here:

  • Quitting to the main menu at End of Round no longer results in an endless loading screen.
  • A crash in Spectator mode during large-scale experiences has been resolved.
  • The Bob and Rooster characters and their skins now work across all NATO classes.

If you are still deciding which class to actually commit to now that cosmetics no longer force the choice, our Battlefield 6 classes guide breaks down every gadget, Signature Weapon and Training Path.

What changed on maps, modes and AI?

Three lines, each one small and each one aimed at a specific spot players kept getting stuck on or exploiting.

AreaChange
Wake IslandTwo invisible barriers removed that could obstruct movement inside a bunker near Objective E
Carrier StrikeThe APHEI Cannon can no longer damage the carrier
Tsuru ReefAI-controlled vehicles now navigate shallow water more reliably, preventing them from becoming submerged

The Carrier Strike change is the one with competitive weight. An APHEI Cannon that could chip the carrier itself turned a mode objective into a damage sponge that could be worn down from outside its intended counterplay. Removing that restores the mode to the vehicle-versus-vehicle contest it was designed as.

The Tsuru Reef fix is narrower than it sounds. It applies to AI-controlled vehicles, not player-driven ones, so it changes bot behaviour in Portal and casual experiences that backfill with AI rather than anything you are steering yourself.

What changed in the UI and HUD?

Three fixes, one of which is a genuine quality-of-life win:

  • The minimap now displays while the player is downed. Previously the map vanished the moment you went down, exactly when knowing where your squad is matters most for calling a revive.
  • Battlefield Coins purchase navigation is fixed. After backing out of a Battlefield Coins purchase, players can now navigate to the purchase button as intended.
  • Phantom Program XP Booster rewards now display the correct icons at End of Round. A display bug only, not a change to the boosters themselves.

That last one matters for anyone auditing their XP sources: the icons were wrong, the boosters were not. The boosters themselves, and which multipliers stack with them, are unchanged by this patch.

What changed in REDSEC?

Two lines, both housekeeping:

  • A floating zipline was removed from the elevator shaft in the Tech Campus POI.
  • Platform icons now display correctly in the Proximity Chat "Recent Interactions" menu in Battle Royale.

Proximity Chat entered Battle Royale as a Battlefield Labs in Live experience with Season 4 Phase 3, so its menus are still being smoothed out in public. Neither line changes REDSEC's competitive shape.

What did Update 1.4.3.5 not change?

This is the section most patch-note roundups skip, and for a Battlefield 6 player planning a grind it is the most useful one.

No weapon balance. There is no WEAPONS balance block in this patch. The only WEAPONS line is the PS5 optic presentation fix, which is a rendering change, not a stat change. Every damage, recoil-variation and muzzle-velocity value in the game still comes from the 1.3.3.0 ballistics pass. If you built your loadout priorities off those tables, nothing shifted today. Our Battlefield 6 best weapons tier list and the attachment points breakdown both remain accurate as written.

No progression changes. No Career Rank, Battle Pass, XP-rate or unlock-requirement lines appear anywhere in the changelog. The unlock route to every weapon and attachment is exactly what it was yesterday.

No new content. No maps, modes, weapons, vehicles or events. Season 4: Tidal Strike content is unchanged, and EA has still not published an end date for Season 4. For what is known and what is only rumoured about what follows, see our Season 5 release window breakdown.

No fix for the attachment-visibility issues some players logged after 1.4.3.0. Those were partially addressed in that update itself, covered in our attachments not unlocking guide, and 1.4.3.5 adds nothing further.

What are players saying is still broken?

Everything in this section is community-reported on r/Battlefield6 within hours of the patch going live. None of it is confirmed by EA, and none of it appears in any changelog. It is included because it is the most common follow-up question after a patch, and because the honest answer is "these are unverified".

  • The downed minimap reportedly shows every player as a medic. The patch restored the minimap while downed. Players say the icons on it are wrong, displaying teammates with the wrong class marker. That is a separate bug from the one that was fixed.
  • At least one player reports the Bob and Rooster skins still appearing class-locked after the update. Whether that is a client-side cache issue or an incomplete fix is unknown.
  • Black screen on quitting the game persists for some PC players. A community workaround circulating in the patch thread is to uninstall the EA AntiCheat executable from the game folder and let the game reinstall it on next boot. That is a player-suggested fix, not an EA-endorsed one, and it has not been verified here. Use EA Help if you are affected.

Treat all three as open reports. The useful takeaway is that a fourteen-line quality-of-life patch will not clear a launch-window bug backlog, and EA has not claimed it would.

Season 4 is still live and the unlock grind has not changed. If you want the weapon and rank progress before the season turns over, that is the part worth buying back.

FAQ

Is Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.3.5 a big patch? No. EA calls it "a smaller quality-of-life update" and it contains fourteen changelog entries across PLAYER, WEAPONS, MAPS AND MODES, UI AND HUD, AI and REDSEC, with no new content and no balance changes. The download is correspondingly small compared with a major update like 1.4.3.0.

What time did Battlefield 6 Update 1.4.3.5 go live? 08:00 UTC on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. That is 09:00 BST, 10:00 CEST, 04:00 ET and 01:00 PT.

Which optics were fixed on PS5 in 1.4.3.5? Exactly ten: SU-123, CCO, Ro-M, 2PRO, 3VZR, R4T, 1P86 Variable, 1p88 Variable, NFX and SSDS. Optics outside that list, including reticles altered by store bundles, are not named in the patch notes, and players report some of those are still affected.

Did 1.4.3.5 nerf or buff any weapons? No. The patch contains no damage, recoil or velocity changes at all. The 1.3.3.0 ballistics pass remains the governing balance baseline for every weapon class in the game.

Can I use the Rooster and Bob skins on any class now? Yes, on any NATO class. EA removed the class restrictions in this patch in direct response to community feedback, and also cleaned up the skin icons so they no longer display class-specific gadgets. Some players report still seeing the restriction, which EA has not addressed.

Does Update 1.4.3.5 change Season 4 or affect Season 5? No. It adds no content and changes no seasonal dates. Season 4: Tidal Strike continues as before, and EA has still published no official end date for the season or start date for Season 5.
