BO7 Camo Costume Party: All 36 Challenges, Every Reward Camo & the Fastest Path to Oozed (Season 6 The Haunting)

Quick answer: The Camo Costume Party event in Black Ops 7 and Warzone (Season 6: The Haunting) runs September 17 – October 8, 2026 and packs 36 weapon-class challenges split evenly across four modes — Co-Op & Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone (9 each, one per weapon class). Each challenge you clear gives that class a static camo plus 2,500 XP; finishing all nine in a single mode unlocks that mode's animated Mastery camo and 10,000 XP. Complete any 9 challenges across any modes to unlock the Arcblade melee weapon, and grind all 36 to earn the hidden Oozed Mastery camo. The single fastest route to the Arcblade is stacking the low-count Warzone objectives.

The Costume Party is the biggest camo grind of The Haunting, and it's on a 21-day clock — the event camos are limited-time, so anything you don't earn before October 8 is gone. This guide breaks down every tab, every challenge requirement, exactly what each reward is, and the smartest order to knock them out so you walk away with the Arcblade and Oozed before the timer hits zero.

Black Ops 7 Zombies combat — grinding class kills toward the Costume Party Zombies challenges

Per the official event breakdown, "Completing a challenge rewards a standard camo for that class alongside 2,500 XP," and "Finishing all nine weapon class challenges in a mode unlocks that mode's animated Mastery Camo and an additional 10,000 XP." — Treyarch event details, via Call of Duty Wiki

What are the Camo Costume Party rewards?

There are three reward layers, and understanding them tells you exactly how far you need to push:

  • Static class camos — one per challenge, 36 total. These are the base "costume" camos and they stack up as you play naturally.
  • Four animated Mastery camos — one per mode, earned by clearing all nine challenges in that tab:
  • Gravebloom — Co-Op & Endgame
  • Gray Matter — Multiplayer
  • Malignant — Zombies
  • Death Row — Warzone
  • Arcblade melee weapon — complete any 9 challenges across any modes. You do not need to finish a full mode for this; pick the nine easiest and the Arcblade is yours. It stays available via Armory Unlock afterward.
  • Oozed Mastery camo (secret) — the ultimate prize. You unlock it only by completing all 36 challenges and earning all four mode Mastery camos across every mode, which also grants a large XP bonus. Oozed is a slick, dark, animated finish reminiscent of BO6's Dark Matter — and once October 8 passes, it's locked forever.

Oozed is the true capstone of the whole party — there's no shortcut and no store purchase, only the full 36-challenge clear. For a closer look at the camo itself, see our BO7 Oozed camo unlock guide.

All 36 Camo Costume Party challenges by mode

Below is the full challenge list as reported by the community and event trackers during week one. Treyarch's two officially-detailed Multiplayer legs (the T.E.D.D. Trials AR task and the Hordepoint Launcher task) are confirmed; the rest are player-reported, so always confirm the exact wording on the in-game event card before you commit a loadout — Treyarch has quietly tweaked a couple of requirements mid-event.

Co-Op & Endgame — reward: static camos → Gravebloom Mastery

  • Assault Rifles: Eliminate 75 Guild Tech enemies with Assault Rifles
  • SMGs: Score 500 eliminations using an SMG introduced in Season 1 or any later season
  • Shotguns: Get 10 kills with a Shotgun without taking damage, 15 times
  • LMGs: With LMGs, reach 300 eliminations while Combat Rating is at least 40
  • Marksman Rifles: Use Marksman Rifles to take down 25 Special or Elite enemies
  • Sniper Rifles: Equip a Sniper Rifle and score 100 Critical Kills against Fear enemies
  • Pistols: Kill an enemy with a Pistol shortly after wingsuiting, 15 times
  • Launchers & Specials: Get a kill with a Launcher or Special Weapon while airborne, 50 times
  • Melee: Get 75 Critical Kills with Melee Weapons

Endgame has the heaviest grind (500-elimination and 300-elimination tasks). If your goal is only the Arcblade, this is the tab to skip.

Multiplayer — reward: static camos → Gray Matter Mastery

  • Assault Rifles: In T.E.D.D. Trials, eliminate 100 enemies with Assault Rifles
  • SMGs: Get 50 hipfire kills with SMGs
  • Shotguns: Get 3 kills without dying, 10 times, with a Shotgun
  • LMGs: With an LMG, achieve five kills before dying on three separate occasions
  • Marksman Rifles: Get 2 kills without taking damage with a Marksman Rifle, 3 times
  • Sniper Rifles: Get 3 headshots in a single match with a Sniper Rifle, 5 times
  • Pistols: While a Suppressor is equipped on a Pistol, get 30 eliminations
  • Launchers & Specials: Get 15 eliminations in Hordepoint with Launchers or Special Weapons
  • Melee: Get 5 Objective Kills with Melee Weapons

Two of these are famously fiddly: the Hordepoint Launcher challenge and the Marksman "no damage" challenge. If either refuses to move, we cover the exact fixes below.

Zombies — reward: static camos → Malignant Mastery

  • Assault Rifles: Get 500 eliminations with Assault Rifles while Jugger-Nog and Speed Cola are active
  • SMGs: Get 500 eliminations with an SMG in Rogue Run
  • Shotguns: During one T.E.D.D. Trial, get 75 kills with a Shotgun
  • LMGs: Get 30 kills with an LMG without reloading, 10 times
  • Marksman Rifles: Get 500 kills with a Marksman Rifle from the Mystery Box
  • Sniper Rifles: Eliminate 4 Elite Zombies with a Sniper Rifle
  • Pistols: Get 300 eliminations with a Pistol in Cursed
  • Launchers & Specials: Get 100 kills with Legendary Rarity Launchers or Special Weapons
  • Melee: Use a Pack-a-Punch Level III Melee Weapon to score 250 kills

Zombies is where the huge numbers live (500 and 300 elimination tasks), but it's also the most AFK-friendly — high-round trains rack these up fast.

Warzone — reward: static camos → Death Row Mastery

  • Assault Rifles: Get 25 eliminations with Ground Loot Assault Rifles
  • SMGs: Get a kill with an SMG before the 3rd circle, 25 times
  • Shotguns: Get 10 kills with a Shotgun while in the Top 10
  • LMGs: Get 2 kills with an LMG without reloading, 5 times
  • Marksman Rifles: Kill 15 enemies with a Marksman Rifle without an Optic equipped
  • Sniper Rifles: Get 5 headshots with Sniper Rifles
  • Pistols: Kill a Bounty Target with a Pistol
  • Launchers & Specials: Get 5 kills while moving with Launchers or Special Weapons
  • Melee: Get a kill with a Melee Weapon shortly after switching weapons, 3 times

Warzone has by far the smallest kill counts — most objectives are 25 or fewer, and several ("kill a Bounty Target with a Pistol", "5 sniper headshots") clear in a couple of matches. This tab is your Arcblade express lane.

The fastest path to the Arcblade

You only need any 9 challenges for the Arcblade. Ignore mode tabs and cherry-pick the lowest-effort objectives across the game:

  • Warzone Pistols — kill one Bounty Target with a Pistol. Often done in a single match.
  • Warzone Sniper Rifles — 5 headshots total (not per match).
  • Warzone Assault Rifles — 25 Ground Loot AR eliminations.
  • Warzone SMGs — an SMG kill before the 3rd circle, 25 times (drop hot, use any looted SMG).
  • Warzone Melee — a kill right after a weapon switch, 3 times.
  • Multiplayer SMGs — 50 hipfire kills (hip-fire close on any objective mode).
  • Multiplayer Melee — 5 objective kills (Hardpoint/Domination melee finishes).
  • Multiplayer Pistols — 30 suppressed pistol eliminations.
  • Warzone LMGs — 2 kills without reloading, 5 times (Resurgence lobbies are ideal).

That's nine of the lowest-count tasks in the event — enough for the Arcblade in an afternoon. Everything past this point is about the Mastery camos and, ultimately, Oozed.

The fastest path to Oozed (all 36)

Oozed demands every challenge, so route by grind efficiency:

  • Warzone first — smallest numbers, quickest tab. Knock out all nine here to bank the Death Row Mastery camo and momentum.
  • Multiplayer second — mostly "X kills without dying, N times" tasks that fall into place with normal play. Run objective modes for the Melee and Hordepoint challenges.
  • Zombies third — the 500/300-elimination monsters, but high rounds do the heavy lifting. Bring an AR with Jugger-Nog + Speed Cola active for the 500-AR task and let a train farm it.
  • Endgame last — the toughest gate (Guild Tech eliminations, airborne Launcher kills, 100 Fear-enemy Sniper crits). Save it for when you're chasing the last mode's Gravebloom camo.

Because completing all four modes also completes "any 9" many times over, the Arcblade will pop long before Oozed does — treat it as a checkpoint, not a detour.

Camo Costume Party challenges not tracking? Read this first

Two Multiplayer challenges are the usual culprits for "it won't move" complaints:

  • Hordepoint Launcher/Special challenge: the requirement is 15 eliminations in Hordepoint with Launchers or Special Weapons — it must be the Hordepoint playlist specifically, and only Launcher/Special kills count. Standard MP won't register it. Full walkthrough in our Hordepoint launcher challenge fix.
  • Marksman "no damage" challenge: getting 2 kills without taking damage, 3 times, is finicky about the damage window and mode. If it's stuck, see our Marksman camo challenge fix.

General fixes that clear most tracking bugs: fully close and relaunch the game after the latest update, confirm you're in the correct mode tab (Endgame vs Multiplayer vs Zombies vs Warzone are separate progress bars), and don't back out of a match early — progress can fail to commit on a rage-quit.

Where the Costume Party fits in Season 6

The Costume Party is one of several overlapping Haunting activities. If you're chasing everything The Haunting has to offer, pair this with the DOOM Event Pass free-rewards guide and the full Season 6 camo list so you're not double-grinding weapons you've already maxed.

Short on time before October 8? Our pros can complete the entire Camo Costume Party for you — every mode, the Arcblade, and the hidden Oozed camo — so you keep the limited-time cosmetics without the 36-challenge grind.

FAQ

When does the BO7 Camo Costume Party event end? The event runs from September 17 at 9 AM PT and ends Thursday, October 8 at 10 AM PT — a 21-day window. The Arcblade stays available afterward through Armory Unlock, but every event camo (including Oozed) is limited-time and disappears when the event closes.

How many challenges are in the Camo Costume Party? There are 36 total — nine per mode across Co-Op & Endgame, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone, one challenge for each of the nine weapon classes.

How do I unlock the Arcblade melee weapon? Complete any 9 challenges across any combination of modes. You don't have to finish a full mode — cherry-pick the nine easiest (Warzone's low-count objectives are fastest).

How do I unlock the Oozed camo? Oozed is the hidden Mastery reward for completing all 36 challenges and earning all four mode Mastery camos across Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame, and Warzone. It's the full-clear prize, and it comes with a large XP bonus on top.

Why aren't my Camo Costume Party challenges tracking? The most common causes are being in the wrong mode tab (each mode has a separate progress bar), a required-playlist mismatch (e.g. the Launcher challenge must be in Hordepoint), or a challenge not committing after an early match exit. Relaunch the game after the latest update and re-check the specific mode tab. See our dedicated Hordepoint and Marksman fix guides for the two most-reported ones.

Do the static class camos carry over to Warzone? Camos you unlock in BO7 apply to shared weapons in Warzone as usual, but the Costume Party's four Mastery camos and the Oozed reward are tied to completing the event and won't return once it ends.
