Quick answer: The best Delta Force settings for FPS start with Ray Tracing off, V-Sync off, NVIDIA Reflex on, DLSS, FSR or XeSS on Quality at 1080p and 1440p, or Performance at 4K, and Shadow Map, Scene Details, Scene View Distance and Ambient Occlusion lowered first. Keep Frame Generation off in Operations and competitive Warfare. Set your frame cap to a number you can hold in a full fight, not the highest one you see in a quiet menu. On console, close suspended apps, keep storage free and lower Frame Rate if it dips. If FPS collapsed after an update, verify your files and update your GPU driver before you touch anything else.
Key takeaways
- Ray tracing is the biggest single cost. One benchmark gained 30–50% FPS from turning it off, more than any other single setting.
- Test in a real match. Team Jade's guide says "A quiet menu does not reflect smoke, effects, vehicles, and a full fight."
- Upscaling barely helps at 1080p on a strong PC. The benchmark gained only about 9% there, because the CPU becomes the limit. At 4K it gained 53–70%.
- Never edit game files. Team Jade's guide rules out "unofficial launch commands, modified files, registry edits, or third-party 'fix tools.'"
- Retest on November 10. Season Aurora adds optional Unreal Engine 5 features on Zenith Port, so your numbers will change.
This guide applies to Season Reorientation (September 8 – November 9, 2026). Team Jade's guide doesn't list a recommended value per setting, so the picks below combine the Basic Settings & Technical Support guide (September 18, 2026) with two independent PC guides. We name the source wherever a number appears.
What are the best Delta Force settings for FPS?
Use this as your starting point on PC, then raise settings if you have frames to spare. The labels follow the in-game Graphics tab as documented by ProSettings, so a label may differ slightly on your client. The Balanced column follows PCOptimizedSettings and its recommendation for RTX 3060-class PCs.
| Setting | Maximum FPS | Balanced | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display Mode | Fullscreen | Fullscreen | ProSettings found no input-lag gap against Borderless, so pick whichever is more stable |
| Resolution | Native | Native | Use Super Resolution for frames instead of a lower resolution |
| In Match Frame Cap | What you can hold | Refresh rate if you can hold it | Stable beats high |
| Out of Match Frame Cap | Refresh rate | Refresh rate | Menus and the firing range count as out of match, so 60 feels choppy there |
| V-Sync | Off | Off | Adds input lag |
| NVIDIA Reflex | On | On | PCOptimizedSettings' general high, mid and low tier table sets it On, though its RTX 3060-class table lists Off, so test both if your card is older |
| Enable Ray Tracing | Off | Off | Turning it off gained 30–50% FPS |
| Super Resolution | One step below Balanced column | Quality at 1080p and 1440p, Performance at 4K | Biggest gain at 1440p and 4K |
| DLSS Frame Generation | Off | Off | More frames, more input lag |
| Ambient Occlusion | Off | Medium | Costs little up to High, then 10%+ |
| Scene Details | Low | Ultra | Up to about 9% |
| Scene View Distance | Low | Ultra | Up to about 9% |
| Shadow Map | Low | Ultra | Up to about 7% |
| Global Illumination | Low | Medium | 3–5% |
| Volumetric Fog | Low | Low | 4–5% at Ultimate, on select maps |
| Particles | Low | Medium | About 4% |
| Shaders | Low | Medium | 2–4% |
| Streaming | Low | Medium | 2–3% |
| Post Processing | Low | Ultra | Little FPS impact |
| Texture Filtering | Low | Ultimate | Subtle FPS impact |
| Depth of Field | Off | Off | Eye candy |
ProSettings runs Anti-Aliasing off and suggests Default FOV 120, noting that a wider view can cost some frames. Motion blur on the weapon is personal preference, since it barely moves performance.
Our verdict: start with Balanced, then move only Ambient Occlusion, Scene Details, Scene View Distance and Shadow Map toward Maximum FPS. Those four hold most of the remaining gain, and you keep more readable lighting and detail than an all-Low setup.
How much FPS does each setting cost?
These figures come from PCOptimizedSettings, tested on a Core i9-12900K and RTX 4090. The test captures date from December 2024, so treat the numbers as a ranking, not a promise for your PC.
| Setting | FPS impact |
|---|---|
| Ray Traced Reflections | 30–50% gain when turned off |
| Ambient Occlusion (top options) | 10%+ |
| Scene Details | 5–9% |
| Scene View Distance | 5–9% |
| Shadow Map | 6–7% |
| Volumetric Fog (Ultimate) | 4–5% |
| Particles (top option) | About 4% |
| Global Illumination | 3–5% |
| Shaders | 2–4% |
| Streaming | 2–3% |
Presets scale unevenly. At 4K with DLSS Performance, the same test averaged 182 FPS on Ultimate, 211 on Ultra, 239 on High and 253 on Low. Dropping from High to Low added only 14 FPS, so a custom mix beats a blanket preset.
Low on top, Ultimate below. Captures: PCOptimizedSettings (December 2024 build), with on-screen names blurred.
Should you use DLSS, FSR or XeSS in Delta Force?
Ray tracing off on top, Ultra below. Captures: PCOptimizedSettings (December 2024 build), with on-screen names blurred.
The capture above shows why ray tracing goes first: the test gained 30–50% FPS with it off, and you rarely look at reflections in a fight. With that off, upscaling is your next big gain.
Use an upscaler at 1440p and 4K. At 1080p, it depends.
The benchmark averaged 112 FPS at native 4K. Quality and Balanced upscaling added 53%, and Performance added 70%, reaching about 190 FPS. At 1080p the same PC went from 224 FPS to 244 FPS on Quality. That's the CPU holding the game back, and more GPU headroom won't fix it.
So if your GPU sits near 100% load, upscale. If it doesn't, lower Scene View Distance and Scene Details instead, and close background apps.
Our rule follows PCOptimizedSettings: Quality at 1080p and 1440p, Performance at 4K. If you still can't hold your frame cap, go one step lower. Distant players are small on Warfare maps, so don't go lower than you need.
Two caveats on the upscaler list:
- AMD players: Team Jade's July 9, 2025 update rolled AMD's integration back: "we've temporarily rolled back to FSR 2 until completion, meaning it only supports upscaling technology for now." We found no later Steam announcement reversing that, though third-party guides list newer FSR versions. Check what your in-game menu offers.
- Frame Generation: ProSettings keeps it off for Warfare and extraction because of the input lag. Tier1Settings says it needs an RTX 40-series card and shouldn't be used below about 60 real FPS. A Reddit thread this week also flagged a Frame Generation bug on an RTX 4060, so turn it off first if your image misbehaves.
Why does Delta Force stutter or lose FPS?
Different symptoms have different fixes. Find yours before you change anything.
| What you see | Likely cause | First move |
|---|---|---|
| Low FPS everywhere, even in the firing range | Settings, driver or a damaged install | Verify files, update the driver |
| Fine until smoke, vehicles and big fights | GPU or CPU limit | Lower the top cost rows |
| Stutter after a patch or driver update | Shader work or a client issue | Restart, update, verify |
| Image jumps while your FPS counter stays high | Often connection, sometimes frame pacing | Check your network, then try a lower frame cap |
| FPS falls the longer you play on a laptop or phone | Heat | Cool the device, cap frames lower |
A sudden drop is a common complaint. One Reddit post from this week described falling from 50–60 FPS to 25–40 FPS "even on the firing range" after a routine login, with a reinstall as the only thing that had fixed it before. Reinstalling is a big job on a game this size, so run the cheap checks first.
Team Jade has shipped real fixes here, so an old client can be the whole problem. The August 6, 2026 update "Fixed an issue where upgrading graphics card drivers caused abnormal shader loading." The July 2, 2026 notes "Fixed stuttering and rubberbanding issues at the start of AZ3 matches." The September 9 patch fixed framerate fluctuations that made vehicle movement stutter.
How do you fix FPS drops in Delta Force on PC?
This is Team Jade's order, with the PC detail added.
- Test in a real match. The firing range won't show you the fight that drops your frames.
- Close what you aren't using. The guide lists "downloads, streams, cloud backups, recording tools, browser tabs, and other high-demand apps or games."
- Lower graphics quality and frame rate first. Team Jade's line is "Prioritize stable performance over a higher number that drops during combat."
- Change one group at a time. Test after each change, or you won't know what helped.
- Restart after a long session or a major update.
- Update Windows and your driver. Use NVIDIA, AMD or Intel's official route, never a driver-download site or third-party driver tool.
- Verify your files. On Steam: Library → right-click Delta Force → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. On Epic: Library → three dots → Manage → Verify. On the official client, use Repair.
PCOptimizedSettings also suggests enabling Resizable BAR, Game Mode, Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling and your RAM's XMP or EXPO profile. These are standard Windows and BIOS options that don't touch the game. If you're in the BIOS, leave Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 on. Delta Force needs both to enter a match, and our Secure Boot and TPM guide covers how to check them.
Running out of VRAM looks like stutter too. The benchmark measured up to 8 GB at 1080p, under 9 GB at 1440p, about 10 GB at 4K Ultimate and 12 GB at 4K with ray tracing. If you're on an 8 GB card or lower, drop Textures first, then read our Out of Video Memory fix.
What should you never change?
Some FPS guides tell you to edit Engine.ini or run a tweak utility. Skip them.
Delta Force runs ACE anti-cheat, and Team Jade's guide is blunt: "Do not use unofficial launch commands, modified files, registry edits, or third-party 'fix tools.'" It also says "Use only the official client and official platform tools." A few extra frames aren't worth a problem on your account. If you've tried everything above, send a ticket instead of patching files.
For shader-loading crashes, the same guide tells you to close "overlays, recording tools, GPU-tuning tools, and other high-demand applications." So if you run a GPU overclock, remove it while you troubleshoot.
What are the minimum PC specs for Delta Force?
These are the figures in Team Jade's guide.
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 10 64-bit |
| CPU | Core i3-4150 / FX-6300 | Core i5-6500 / Ryzen 5 1500X |
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| GPU | GTX 660 / HD 7870 / Arc A380 | GTX 1060 5 GB / RX 5500 XT / Arc A580 |
| DirectX | 12 | 12 |
| Free storage | 95 GB | 198 GB |
Team Jade warns that meeting the minimum "does not guarantee a smooth experience in every large fight." As a real-world marker, PCOptimizedSettings measured 143 FPS on an RTX 3060 12 GB at 1080p with a tuned mix, and 124 FPS on an RTX 4060 laptop. Short on disk space? Our file size guide shows what you can clear.
What are the best settings on PS5, Xbox and mobile?
PS5 and Xbox Series X/S: Console menus give you far fewer options. Team Jade's advice is to "Close suspended games and apps, pause background downloads, keep adequate free storage, and install all console and game updates," and to keep the console ventilated. Lower graphics quality and Frame Rate if you're dropping frames. One PS5 Pro player reported pixelated textures and uneven frames in 120 FPS mode in Warfare this week, so try a lower frame-rate option if you see that. For crashes, use our Xbox and PS5 crash guide.
Mobile: Keep 26 GB free at minimum or 40 GB for the recommended experience. Frame-rate options depend on your device, and players report that a greyed-out option means your model isn't supported. Team Jade adds support model by model, such as the February 26, 2026 note giving one Nubia phone 90 FPS at Standard quality and below. If performance falls as your phone heats up, the guide says to stop, unplug and let it cool.
What changes in Season Aurora on November 10?
Plan to retest your settings. These points come from the October 30 Dev Stream, and our Season Aurora guide has the wider picture:
- Zenith Port: the new Warfare map brings Unreal Engine 5 features to the game's customized Unreal Engine 4 build. The developers called them optional, so you can leave them off on weaker hardware.
- PS5 Pro: an enhancement is coming to both Performance and Quality modes, with a visual improvement.
- Console install size: Team Jade plans a smaller install later.
Team Jade has promised full patch notes before launch. Season Aurora starts the day after Reorientation ends, and we'll update this guide when those notes land.
FAQ
What are the best Delta Force settings for a low-end PC? Start from the Low preset, keep Ray Tracing and Frame Generation off, use DLSS, FSR or XeSS on Quality at 1080p, and set your frame cap to a number you can hold in a fight. Team Jade says to start with a lower preset if your hardware is close to minimum.
Does Delta Force have ray tracing, and should I use it? Yes, it has ray traced reflections on PC. Leave them off for competitive play, since one benchmark gained 30–50% FPS with it off.
Why did my Delta Force FPS suddenly drop? Check for a client update, update your GPU driver and verify your files. If it's still low in the firing range and your settings haven't changed, the install is worth repairing. Reinstall through the official platform only after those steps.
Is it safe to edit Engine.ini for more FPS in Delta Force? Don't do it. Team Jade's guide says not to use modified files or third-party fix tools, and the gain isn't worth the risk to your account.
Should I use Frame Generation in Delta Force? Keep it off in Operations and competitive Warfare, because it adds input lag. It's only worth trying for casual play when you already have about 60 real FPS.
Does a higher FOV lower FPS in Delta Force? It can, because more of the scene is drawn. ProSettings still suggests 120 for the extra awareness. Lower it only if you're short of frames after the top cost settings.
