EA SPORTS FC 27 is now in its first full week after Worldwide Launch — PC unlocked on 24 September at 23:00 UTC and every other platform on 25 September — and the Gallery has quietly become the most expensive menu in Football Ultimate Team. The Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Set is the first post-launch Gallery Set EA added, it holds 85 Gallery Tokens across five grades, and the cheapest lineup that reaches its top grade costs more coins than most players will earn all Season. Here is the full grade ladder, the scoring maths EA has never published, and the honest verdict on which grade is worth chasing in EA FC 27 right now.

Quick answer. The Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Gallery Set takes 10 Player Items from the Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory and Future Stars campaigns. Five grades: D at 1,000 Item Score (no Tokens), C at 25,000 (5 Gallery Tokens), B at 60,000 (10), A at 100,000 (20) and S at 150,000 (50) — 85 Gallery Tokens if you clear the whole ladder. Ten 85-rated campaign cards clear C. Ten 87s clear B. Ten 88s clear A. Only ten 88-rated Holographic cards clear S. The cheapest tracked grade-S lineup needs about 7,175,000 coins in hand, which works out to roughly 84,400 coins per Gallery Token — at least 650 times worse than farming Tokens from cheap club Sets. Grade C or B is the correct target this week.

What is the Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Gallery Set?

It is the first Gallery Set EA shipped after launch, and EA announced it in the FC 27 Launch Update Pitch Notes on 14 September 2026: "The first post-launch Gallery Set arrives at Worldwide Launch with the Season 1 (Combined Rarities) Set, bringing together Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory, and Future Stars Player Items to collect and showcase."

Two details in that sentence do real work. First, it is a Combined Rarities Set — three campaigns feed ten shared slots, so a Destined for Glory card and an Ones to Watch card compete for the same space. Second, "Season 1" is a name, not a deadline: "Gallery Set releases remain live for the duration of the game." Season 1 runs from 17 September to 22 October 2026, but the Set does not close when the Season does.

The third campaign is the catch. Ones to Watch went live at launch and Destined for Glory Team 1 landed on 25 September, but EA has named Future Stars without giving it a date. Until it arrives, a third of the eligible card pool does not exist, and every grade-S plan published this week is built on two campaigns rather than three.

What are all five grade requirements and rewards?

Grades are cumulative. EA Help's Gallery hub article puts it plainly: "If you jump straight to a higher grade, you'll get the rewards from every grade level." You do not have to step through D, C, B and A one at a time to bank their Tokens.

GradeItem Score neededGallery TokensRunning total
D1,00000
C25,00055
B60,0001015
A100,0002035
S150,0005085

Those thresholds and payouts come from community trackers reading the live Set screen — the Season 1 page on FUT.GG, updated 27 September 2026, is the cleanest capture. EA has published the system but not the numbers, so treat them as verified-by-community rather than official.

Every Set also pays Club Customisation on top: "Each Set rewards you with Club Customisation including Club-specific Crests and Kits, while higher Grades award Gallery Tokens." Grade D exists mainly to hand you the cosmetic.

Here is the part nobody writes down: the ladder gets more generous as you climb. Cumulatively, grade C costs 5,000 Item Score per Token, B costs 4,000, A costs 2,857 and S costs 1,765. Marginally, C-to-B buys Tokens at 3,500 score each, B-to-A at 2,000, and A-to-S at just 1,000. Purely in points, grade S is the best value on the board. The problem is never the points — it is the coins those points are attached to.

How is Gallery Item Score actually calculated?

EA describes the mechanic and stops short of the values. From the Launch Update Pitch Notes: "Every Player Item in Football Ultimate Team™ has an Item Score based on its OVR, Rarity, and Holographic status. This same scoring system is used across both Streamlined SBCs and Gallery." And on stacking: "Each OVR has a base score, which can then be increased by Rarity and Holographic bonuses. These bonuses stack together."

We cross-checked the Item Scores of all ten cards in the cheapest tracked grade-S lineup against the live base gold table in our FC 27 Item Score table, and the campaign multipliers resolve exactly:

  • Campaign rarity (Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory) = base gold score x 1.25. An 87 gold is worth 5,500; an 87 Destined for Glory is 6,875. An 88 gold is 8,300; an 88 campaign card is 10,375.
  • Holographic = a further x1.5 on top, for x1.875 total. That 87 Destined for Glory goes from 6,875 to 10,313 the moment it is Holographic. An 89 campaign card jumps from 13,750 to 20,625.
  • Regular and Pristine Holographic score identically. A Pristine Holographic 88 and a regular Holographic 88 both land on 15,563. Pristine is a visual tier, not a scoring tier — more detail in our Holographic items guide.
  • Duplicates fill separate slots. A regular 87 and a Holographic 87 of the same player occupy two of your ten slots, and the Holographic copy is worth exactly 50 percent more.

That produces the working table for this Set:

OVRCampaign (x1.25)Campaign + Holographic (x1.875)
841,0381,556
852,6253,938
865,1257,688
876,87510,313
8810,37515,563
8913,75020,625
9017,50026,250
9123,75035,625

Multiply by ten slots and the grade ladder becomes a shopping list. Ten 85-rated campaign cards score 26,250 and clear C. Ten 87s score 68,750 and clear B. Ten 88s score 103,750 and clear A. Ten 88s will not clear S — you need them Holographic, at 155,630.

One warning that costs people real coins: Evolution upgrades do not help here. EA is unambiguous — "Evolution upgrades don't carry over to the Gallery" — so evolving a campaign card to 88 does nothing for its Item Score. If you are spending Evo slots, spend them on squads, not Sets.

What does the cheapest grade-S lineup really cost?

FUT.GG's planner for this Set currently lands on a ten-card lineup scoring 150,484 against the 150,000 requirement — it clears grade S by 484 points, with no margin for a price spike forcing a swap. Base Item Scores across the ten cards total 120,878; bonus tags add another 29,606, which is 24.5 percent on top of the base and 19.7 percent of the final total.

The tags matter more than most guides admit, and the way they are calculated is widely misread. A tag's percentage applies to the combined Item Score of the tagged cards only, not to the whole Set. On this lineup the Holographic tag reads "7 items, +20%" and pays 15,975 — which is 20 percent of the 79,878 those seven Holographic cards score between them, not 20 percent of the 120,878 Set total. The Golden tag reads "10 items, +2%" and pays 2,417, exactly 2 percent of the full base, because all ten cards are gold.

That makes the stack top-heavy. The nine tags on this lineup pay Holographic 15,975, Multiples! 2,593, All out Attack 2,546, Midfield Control 2,452, Golden 2,417, Different Club 1,036, Different Nation 959, Different League 882 and Ambidextrous 746 — Holographic alone is 54 percent of the whole bonus. Stacking Holographics beats optimising nations, every time. The full tag list is in our Gallery tags and First Owner breakdown.

The price, as of 27 September 2026, per FUT.GG: "The cheapest lineup that reaches grade S needs 7,175,000 coins in hand and 11,137,000 in total today and earns all 85 Gallery Tokens." The planner prints both figures under its own labels, "Coins needed" and "Total price", and does not publish how it splits them — so quote them as the tracker does rather than treating either as the single sticker price. Every efficiency number below uses the lower one.

Run the efficiency numbers and the verdict writes itself:

  • 84,412 coins per Gallery Token at grade S (7,175,000 / 85).
  • 59.4 coins per Item Score point, against roughly 0.78 coins per point for an 84-rated gold in a Streamlined SBC. That is about 76 times worse per point.
  • Cheap club Sets deliver Tokens at roughly 100-130 coins each — see our 500 Gallery Tokens guide. Grade S here is 650 to 840 times more expensive per Token.

There is one genuine defence of the spend, and it is EA's own design. Completing a Set does not consume the cards: "Unlike Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), completing a Gallery Set doesn't submit or remove the Player Items from your Club." EA goes further — "If an eligible Player Item passes through your Club, it can still count toward your Gallery after you sell it." So you can buy the ten cards, grade the Set, relist them, and lose only the 5 percent EA tax: about 358,750 coins, or 4,220 per Token. That is still more than 30 times worse than cheap Sets, and it still demands 7.175 million coins of liquidity plus the spread on ten high-rated cards in a launch-week market. Our Gallery eligibility rules post covers the confirm step people skip.

Which grade should you target this week?

Grade B. It needs 60,000 Item Score, ten 87-rated campaign cards reach 68,750 with headroom, and 87-rated Ones to Watch and Destined for Glory items are the cheapest they will be all Season while Team 1 floods the market. Fifteen Tokens for a squad you already half own is the best trade on this Set.

Grade C at 25,000 is the floor nobody should miss — ten 85-rated campaign cards clear it at 26,250, and campaign 85s sit near fodder pricing during Destined for Glory, which runs from 25 September to 9 October 2026. Grade A at 100,000 is defensible if you are already deep in Holographics, where six or seven of them plus tag bonuses can drag you over the line without buying a single 89.

Grade S is a whale move, not a plan. And bear in mind what 85 Tokens actually buys: the base Hall of FUT players in the Gallery Token Store sit at 400, 500 and 750 Tokens, with league away-kit picks at 100. The entire Season 1 ladder, at 7.1 million coins, funds 21 percent of the cheapest Hall of FUT card and 11 percent of the Pato and Hulk tier. You do not grade S for the Tokens. You grade S because you wanted the cards anyway.

Short on coins rather than short on plan? The Season 1 Set is pure throughput — Gallery keeps the card, so the only thing standing between you and a grade is your balance while campaign 87s are cheap.

Which rarity Sets can actually reach grade S right now?

Not all of them — two are score-capped by the cards that exist. FUT.GG's rarity index, updated 27 September 2026, lists six rarity Sets holding 625 Gallery Tokens in total across every grade, and reads only 475 of them as currently obtainable:

  • Holographics (5 items) — S reachable, 175 of 175 Tokens, with 510,635 score available against a 250,000 requirement.
  • Team of the Week (20 items) — "Grade A is the best possible", 100 of 175 Tokens. 516,182 available score against 550,000 needed for S.
  • Heroes (5 items) — grade A is the ceiling, 100 of 175 Tokens.
  • Season 1 (Combined Rarities) (10 items) — S reachable, 85 of 85 Tokens, 206,634 available against 150,000.
  • Squad Foundations (4 items) — 10 of 10 Tokens.
  • Starter Set (5 items) — 5 of 5 Tokens.

Season 1 clears S with 37.8 percent headroom because ten slots of campaign Holographics is a far higher ceiling than five Heroes or twenty Team of the Week cards can reach today — Heroes sits at 134,061 available score against 200,000, and TOTW at 516,182 against 550,000, so both are stuck at A until EA prints more cards. That is 150 Gallery Tokens currently locked behind cards that do not exist. It also means the "over 100 Sets available at launch" figure EA quoted — now 127 FC 27 Gallery Sets tracked — is a moving target rather than a completion checklist.

What is the community actually doing with this Set?

Across the two biggest Gallery threads on r/EASportsFC this week the sentiment is consistent: the Gallery should accumulate naturally across a year, not be sprinted in a fortnight, and players are quoting figures near 200,000 coins just to get near a Hall of FUT card. The Store is being treated as a long-term bank, not a launch-week goal.

The smarter posts are about the flip — buying slightly below the list price and immediately relisting a notch higher, reported as selling roughly nine times out of ten, which pushes most of the EA tax onto the next buyer and turns a Gallery grade into something close to a free operation. The recurring confusion is whether a card bought and instantly relisted still counts. It does, and EA has confirmed it in writing. The other common gripe is that per-club grade thresholds feel arbitrary between big and small clubs — a rarity-Set-adjacent complaint, but it colours how the whole Gallery is received.

Mistakes that cost coins on this Set

Filling with Evolutions. Evo upgrades do not count — an evolved 88 scores as its pre-Evo self.

Trusting Autocomplete with your balance. EA's own instruction is to "Select Autocomplete to automatically add your best available eligible Player Items" — it fills from what you already own, so it is a planning tool, not a shopping list. At 7 million coins, plan the lineup before you buy a single card.

Buying regular cards for an S run. Ten 88-rated campaign cards score 103,750 — grade A, not S. Only Holographic copies at that rating clear 150,000.

Using Loan Items. EA is explicit: "Loan Items aren't eligible for the Gallery and don't count toward Gallery Sets."

Forgetting to confirm. The flow is Main Menu, Club, Gallery, the Set, add eligible items, Confirm Changes. Skip the last step and the grade never registers.

FAQ

What is the Season 1 Gallery Set in FC 27? The first post-launch Gallery Set, officially Season 1 (Combined Rarities). It takes 10 Player Items from the Ones to Watch, Destined for Glory and Future Stars campaigns and grades them on total Item Score across five tiers from D to S.

How many Gallery Tokens does the Season 1 Set give? 85 in total at grade S — 5 at C, 10 at B, 20 at A and 50 at S. Grade D pays Club Customisation but no Tokens. Rewards are cumulative, so reaching S grants every lower grade's rewards too.

What Item Score do I need for grade S? 150,000. In practice that means ten 88-rated Holographic campaign cards (155,630) or a mix of 89s and 90s with strong bonus tags. Ten non-Holographic 88s fall short at 103,750.

How much does grade S cost in coins? Roughly 7,175,000 coins in hand as of 27 September 2026, or about 84,400 coins per Gallery Token. Because Gallery never consumes the cards, relisting them can cut the real cost to the 5 percent tax — around 358,750 coins — but you still need the full balance up front.

Does the Season 1 Gallery Set expire on 22 October? No. Season 1 runs from 17 September to 22 October 2026, but EA states Gallery Set releases remain live for the duration of the game, and that eligible Items already in your Gallery history count towards new Sets even after they leave your Club.

Do Evolutions count towards Gallery Item Score? No. EA confirms Evolution upgrades don't carry over to the Gallery, so the card scores as its base version.

Is the Season 1 Gallery Set worth doing? Grades C and B, immediately — ten 85s clear C and ten 87s clear B, both near fodder prices during the Destined for Glory window. Grade A is worth it if you already hold Holographics. Grade S is only rational if you wanted those cards for your squad anyway.
