FC 27 Item Score Table: What Every Rating Is Actually Worth — and Why 84s Are the Cheapest Fodder in the Game

EA SPORTS FC 27 is fully live — worldwide launch landed on 25 September 2026, Season 1 (Ones to Watch) runs to 22 October, and Destined for Glory is the promo currently on screen. Which means the most important number in Ultimate Team this week is not a player rating. It's the little green gem value under every card in your club.

That number is Item Score, and it is the new currency of FUT. Streamlined SBCs ask for it. Gallery Set grades are built from it. And because EA has never published the values, almost every "fodder strategy" guide written before launch is quoting a scale that does not exist in the live game.

Here is the real table, read off the live client and cross-checked against the market floor — plus the coin math that says one specific rating is roughly ten times more efficient than the bronzes everyone is hoarding.

TLDR — the quick answer

  • An 84-rated base card is worth 830 Item Score. An 83 is worth 410. One rating point doubles the value — the biggest cliff on the entire scale.
  • A bronze is worth 20 points. A silver is worth 35. Every bronze from 45 to 64 OVR scores identically.
  • At today's market floor, 84s cost roughly 0.78 coins per Item Score point — the best ratio in the game. Bronzes and silvers cost 10.0 coins per point, about 13x worse.
  • 82s, 83s and 84s all sit on the same 600–650 coin floor right now. Same price, 2.4x the score. There is no reason to buy the 82.
  • The live 75,000-point Destined for Glory Nusa SBC costs roughly 59,000 coins in 84s versus 750,000 coins in bronzes. Same reward.
  • EA has published no Item Score values at all. Everything below is read from the live game and community trackers — treat it as tracked, not official.
  • Item Score is shared between Streamlined SBCs and the FUT Gallery. The same card does both jobs.

What is Item Score in FC 27?

Item Score is the point value EA assigns to every Player Item based on its overall rating and rarity. It replaced the two things that used to govern SBCs — squad rating and Chemistry — for most Player and Upgrade challenges.

EA confirmed the mechanic in the FUT Deep Dive and repeats it in its live Gallery documentation:

"You complete a Set by meeting its Player Item requirements. The Item Score of the Player Items in the Set determines its grade."

— EA Help, EA SPORTS FC 27 Gallery Sets and rewards guide

What EA has never done is publish a single number. EasySBC flagged that gap before launch — "One thing we don't know yet is the exact scoring formula. EA has confirmed that Item Score is based on a card's overall rating and rarity, but hasn't revealed exactly how much score each rating or rarity will contribute" — and as of 26 September there is still no EA-published table anywhere, including EA's own live Gallery article.

So the values below come from the live client — the gem printed under each card — collated by community trackers and corroborated by players posting their own submission screens. They are consistent across four independent sources, but they are not EA-published, and EA can retune them.

If you need the mechanics first — duplicates, partial progress, minimum-rating clauses — that's our FC 27 Streamlined SBCs explained guide. This piece is about what the numbers actually are.

What is every rating actually worth?

This is the live base-item scale. Bronze and silver bands are flat; the gold band climbs slowly to 83 and then detonates.

RatingItem ScoreRatingItem Score

888,30045–64 (bronze)20
875,500
864,100
852,100

Three breakpoints matter more than the rest: 83 → 84 doubles you (410 → 830), the cliff the whole FC 27 fodder economy hangs on; 84 → 85 more than doubles again (830 → 2,100); and 74 → 75 is a 2.6x jump (35 → 90), the moment a card stops being junk.

Special items score higher than base items at the same rating, and the tracked bonuses land roughly like this: Team of the Week around +25%, Heroes +25%, ICONs a clean +50%. An 88 ICON is tracked at 12,450 against a base 88's 8,300; an 86 Hero at 5,125 against 4,100.

Be careful with the TOTW column, though — it is not a clean multiplier in the tracked data. An 82 TOTW at 425 and an 84 TOTW at 1,038 are both exactly +25%, but an 83 TOTW is listed at 625 (~52%) and a 90 TOTW at 16,500 (~18%). That inconsistency is real in the tracked values, and it's why you should read the gem on the card in front of you rather than trust a formula. What always holds: at the same OVR a special beats a base item, and an ICON beats everything.

One thing rarity does not do is stack with First Owner. Per community trackers, First Owner doesn't raise an individual card's Item Score at all — it feeds a separate Bonus Tag on the Set's total, broken down in our FC 27 First Owner and Gallery bonus tags guide.

Which fodder is cheapest per Item Score point?

Here is where the table stops being trivia. Take the cheapest card at each rating on the live market and divide price by score. Floor prices were read on 26 September 2026 — they move, the ratios don't move nearly as fast.

TierItem ScoreCheapest BINCoins per pointCards for 75,000Coin cost

888,300~8,0000.9610~80,000
8911,000~16,5001.507~116,000
9014,000~23,5001.686~141,000

The shape of that column is the whole article. Efficiency improves steadily from bronze up to 84, bottoms out at 0.78 coins per point, then gets worse again — 89s and 90s cost roughly twice as much per point as an 84, and 91s are catastrophic at over 8 coins per point.

Bronzes and silvers are the worst fodder in FC 27, by a factor of thirteen. Most players have this backwards, because a decade of FUT trained everyone to hoard cheap cards for rating-based squads. Rating-based squads are gone from most SBCs. Cheap cards now just mean a lot of clicking for very little score.

Why are 84s the single best fodder in the game right now?

Because of a quirk of the launch-week market: the bottom of the gold market is compressed onto a single price floor.

On 26 September, the cheapest 82, 83 and 84 all sat between 600 and 650 coins. Not similar — effectively identical. Their Item Scores were 340, 410 and 830.

That is the trade: for the same 650 coins you can buy 340 points or 830 points. A 2.4x difference for nothing. Buying 82s as fodder this week is setting coins on fire.

The floor exists for a structural reason. FC 27's tracked quick-sell values put an 84 at 596 coins, an 83 at 589, an 82 at 582 and an 80 at 568 — the whole gold band discards for within 30 coins of itself. Nobody lists a gold much below its discard value, so the market floor and the quick-sell floor sit almost on top of each other. High-rated golds therefore can't be proportionally expensive at the bottom of the market, and the 84 is the last rating still on the floor before 85s jump to roughly 1,900.

Two practical notes on actually buying them:

  • The cheapest 84s are women's players and low-popularity names. Streamlined SBCs do not check Chemistry, nationality or league, so a women's 84 CDM is worth exactly the same 830 points as a men's 84 striker — and is routinely the cheapest 84 on the list. Search by rating, sort by Buy Now, ignore the name.
  • You can't buy 91 cards at the absolute floor. Clearing the cheapest page pushes the price up. Trackers price a full 75,000-point submission at 65,000–72,000 coins rather than the theoretical 59,000 — that gap is the cost of being in a hurry.

What does this mean for the SBCs live right now?

Run the table against the Streamlined requirements on screen on 26 September and the spread is brutal. Individual SBCs rotate out, but the tiers repeat all season.

RequirementIn 84sIn 83sIn bronzes
500 (Bronze and Silver Re-Roll)1 card, ~6502 cards, ~1,30025 cards, ~5,000
1,250 (Gold Re-Roll)2 cards, ~1,3004 cards, ~2,60063 cards, ~12,600
20,000 (typical Season 1 player SBC tier)25 cards, ~16,25049 cards, ~31,8501,000 cards, ~200,000
75,000 (Destined for Glory Nusa)91 cards, ~59,150183 cards, ~118,9503,750 cards, ~750,000

The repeatable Gold Re-Roll is the clearest example. It asks for 1,250 score and pays two 78+ Gold Players Packs. Two 84s give 1,660 score for about 1,300 coins; the three-83s-plus-a-bronze solution the solvers list costs about 2,150 for the same reward. In volume, the 84 route saves roughly 800 coins a cycle.

One caveat worth reading twice: overshoot is waste. A 1,250-point requirement filled with 84s spends 1,660 — you've thrown away 410 points, an entire 83. Partial progress lets you bank score and come back, but a repeatable SBC doesn't carry leftovers between completions. For small targets, mix down: 84s for the bulk, one low-rated card to land on the line.

And check whether the reward is worth the fodder at all. One r/EASportsFC player ran 120 Gold Re-Rolls — 150,000 Item Score spent — and got back 111,225 points of players, a 38,775-point loss on score alone, with two 88s and an 89 as the highlights. We ran that question across the whole category in which FC 27 Upgrade SBCs are worth completing.

Why do other guides show a completely different table?

Because before 25 September, nobody had the numbers — including us.

The scale circulating through the pre-launch window was much flatter: 83 for 50 points, 88 for 100, 94 for 800. Those figures came from reasoning off EA's Deep Dive examples, not from the client, and the live game is nothing like them. Under the real scale an 88 is worth 8,300 points, not 100.

If you read an FC 27 fodder strategy published in August or early September — ours included — the mechanics still hold but the arithmetic does not. That's a normal launch-window failure mode, and it's worth stating plainly rather than quietly editing: when EA publishes no numbers, every table is provisional until the client prints one. Check the gem on the card.

Does Item Score work the same way in the Gallery?

Same number, different job. In a Streamlined SBC your submitted items' scores add up to a target and the cards are consumed. In the Gallery they add up to a Set's Base Grade — and the card is not consumed. EA is explicit about the difference:

"Unlike Squad Building Challenges (SBCs), completing a Gallery Set doesn't submit or remove the Player Items from your Club."

— EA Help, EA SPORTS FC 27 Gallery Sets and rewards guide

So the same 84 you buy as SBC fodder can bank Gallery score on the way through. Grades run D, C, B, A, S, and jumping straight to a higher grade pays out every grade beneath it. On top of Base Grade sits Bonus Grade, driven by the tag system — where First Owner, TOTW counts and Holographics do their real work.

Hence the order that actually makes sense: add the card to every eligible Set and grade it first, then submit it to the SBC. The Gallery score stays after the card is gone. Full progression math is in our FC 27 FUT Gallery guide and the Gallery Level 10 cost breakdown.

So how should you buy fodder this week?

  • Search by rating, not by name. Filter 84 OVR, sort Buy Now ascending, clear the floor. Ignore league, nation and gender — Streamlined SBCs don't check.
  • Grade before you submit. Add every card to its Gallery Sets first. That score is free and permanent.
  • Stop hoarding bronzes for score. 13x worse per coin. Keep them for the Bronze and Silver Re-Roll and the bronze pack method, where the value is pack output, not points — see our FC 27 Bronze Pack Method guide.
  • Watch the 85 line. The moment 85s drift toward 1,000–1,200 coins they beat 84s outright at ~0.5 coins per point. Same dynamic we tracked in the launch-day market timeline.
  • Land exactly on the target. Bulk in 84s, finish with one low-rated card.

The uncomfortable part is that the efficient route needs liquidity. A 75,000-point submission is 91 cards you have to buy in one sitting before the floor moves, and Season 1 coin income is deliberately slow — match rewards are a trickle next to what the fodder market charges in launch week.

Short on coins rather than short on strategy? Item Score turns coins directly into rewards now — the only bottleneck is your balance when the floor is cheap.

FAQ

What is Item Score in FC 27? Item Score is the point value every Player Item carries, based on its overall rating and rarity. It's the green gem number under the card. Streamlined SBCs ask for a total Item Score instead of a squad rating, and Gallery Set grades are calculated from the Item Scores of the cards in the Set.

How much Item Score is an 84-rated card worth? A base 84 is worth 830 points in the live game — more than double an 83's 410. Special versions score higher: Team of the Week and Hero items at the same rating run about 25% above base, and ICONs about 50% above.

What's the cheapest way to fill a Streamlined SBC? At the 26 September market floor, 84-rated cards at roughly 0.78 coins per Item Score point. They beat 83s (1.59), 82s (1.76) and bronzes (10.00) because 82s, 83s and 84s all sit on the same 600–650 coin floor while the 84 carries 2.4x the score.

Are bronze cards good for Streamlined SBCs? No — about 10 coins per point, the worst value in the game. They're still useful for the Bronze and Silver Re-Roll and the bronze pack method, where the point is the pack you get back, not the score you spend.

Has EA published the FC 27 Item Score values? No. EA confirms only that Item Score derives from overall rating and rarity. Every number here is read from the live client and cross-checked against community trackers and player submission screens — re-check the gem on your own card before a large submission, because EA can retune these values mid-season.

Does First Owner increase a card's Item Score? No. It doesn't change the individual card's score; it activates a separate Bonus Tag that adds points to a Gallery Set's total.
