Version 7.1 went live today and the notices are readable right now, so this page counts only amounts HoYoverse actually printed, and marks the rest unpublished rather than estimated.

Neither needs combat, exploration, a quest or an Adventure Rank above 5. At 160 Primogems per Intertwined Fate, that is 13 wishes with 120 left over.
The 600 Primogems of compensation, and the deadline that eats half of it
Announcement 21946 splits compensation in two:
- Maintenance Compensation: Primogems ×300, described as "60 Primogems per hour the servers are down." The notice adds that "Update maintenance begins 2026/09/23 06:00 and is estimated to take 5 hours" — which is exactly where the 300 comes from.
- Issue Fix Compensation: Primogems ×300, for which the notice points to "the relevant compensation mail" for details.
Both require Adventure Rank 5 or above as of 2026/09/23 06:00 — a global instant, not a per-server one — so an account made after maintenance started qualifies for neither.
The trap is that the two halves do not share a claim window. The Maintenance Compensation can be claimed any time before Version 7.1 ends; the Issue Fix Compensation cannot, and HoYoverse's wording is blunt: "Please log in and claim your compensation before 2026/09/26 06:00."
That is a three-day window on 300 Primogems, roughly two wishes, and the easiest thing to lose in the version. The notice also warns that "the mail will expire after 30 days, so don't forget to claim the attached compensation in time" — that 30-day clock is the general mail expiry, not a substitute for the 26 September deadline. Both mails land within five hours of maintenance finishing: open the game, open mail, claim both.
What is the Missive of Grace and when do the 400s land?
"Missive of Grace: A Thank-You Gift" is one of three parts of the Rainbow's End: Resplendent Starlight campaign (announcement 21879). HoYoverse publishes a duration per part rather than one umbrella window, and this part runs, in the notice's own words, from 2026/09/28 00:00 until the end of Version 7.1. It is a straight mail drop, one per day for four days, no task beyond logging in, Adventure Rank 2 or above.

That is 1,600 Primogems, the largest single block in the version and the most overlooked, because it does not arrive until five days after the update. The Fragile Resin and the Sanctifying Elixir are quietly worth real time too. These land as mail, and mail expires — claim them in the session you see them.
How does the Resplendent Starlight daily login work?
Another part of the same campaign is a seven-day check-in running 2026/10/01 04:00 to 2026/10/19 03:59, Adventure Rank 5 or above. It pays no Primogems at all — it pays wishes directly:

10 Intertwined Fate total, equivalent to 1,600 Primogems. The days are login counts, not calendar dates, and you get an 18-day window to collect seven, so a couple of missed days is survivable.
One clarification, because it derails a thread every time: the 80,000 on Day 2 is Mora, not Primogems. It is a five-figure number sitting in a Primogem-heavy list, and Mora does not buy wishes.
Which 7.1 events pay Primogems but have not published the amount?
This is where most "total free Primogems" posts start inventing numbers. These events are confirmed to pay Primogems; the amounts are not in the announcement text.
- Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon (announcement 21886) — the flagship 7.1 event, gated behind Adventure Rank 20 plus Archon Quest Prologue Act III, "Song of the Dragon and Freedom", with phases opening 2026/09/24 10:00, 2026/09/26 04:00 and 2026/09/28 04:00, all closing 2026/10/12 03:59. Rewards are redeemed with Festive Cheer: the event-exclusive sword Silver Light, weapon refinement materials, a Crown of Insight and Primogems, with the quests "Festive Priorities" and "Wondrous Anecdotes" paying Primogems too. The reward table is an icon grid with no numerals, so the figure is unpublished, and Silver Light's 4-star rarity comes from graphic 21947, not notice text.

- Spiral Abyss — new season from 16 October. Payout scales with clear depth.

Is Moontrace free?
No. Moontrace, the 7.1 Battle Pass (announcement 21884), runs until 2026/11/02 03:59, with purchases of Gnostic Hymn, Gnostic Chorus and Travel Notes closing at 02:59. Those tiers are paid and need Adventure Rank 20. Keep it out of your free-Primogem math.
What free Primogems are still sitting in Version 7.0?
Version 7.0's exploration campaign, The Godforsaken Frostlands (announcement 21811), is still claimable and still pays an additional 400 Primogems for its exploration missions across the new Snezhnaya regions — Volkodlak Tundra, Everfrozen Earth, Fellfrost Peak, Flamefeather Valley and White Birch Snowgrave. The deadline is 2026/11/03 14:59, the same timestamp that governs the Archon Quest bonus and both free 5-star selectors. Four rewards on one clock is worth an actual reminder.
The two free 5-stars are worth more than any of this
Purely in wish terms, the largest free thing in this window is not Primogems at all.
Tabletop Troupe: A Gathering on Adventure's Eve (announcement 21924) grants one free event-exclusive 5-star chosen from Tartaglia, Nilou, Baizhu, Chiori, Clorinde or Varesa — that six-name list is printed in the notice text, in that order. It needs Adventure Rank 18 and a completed Chapter VII Act IV, and closes 2026/11/03 14:59. The notice says you "also receive Ascension Level-Up Materials for the same character"; the Lv. 60 ceiling appears only in the Benefits Overview graphic (announcement 21923).
Across the Frozen Wilds, Honing One's Edge (announcement 21885) grants one free 5-star from the standard "Wanderlust Invocation" pool on the same closing timestamp, and its published eligibility is simply "After unlocking the Wish feature" — no Adventure Rank at all. The notice does not name the pool; the eight names come from the same graphic, labelled "5-Star Character: Choose 1 of 8" — Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Tighnari, Keqing, Dehya and Yumemizuki Mizuki.

At 160 Primogems per Intertwined Fate:
- Zero-effort floor: 300 + 300 + 1,600 = 2,200 Primogems → 13 wishes, plus 10 Intertwined Fate = 23 wishes.
- With the Frostlands exploration missions: 2,600 Primogems → 16 wishes, plus 10 Fate = 26 wishes.
- Upside not counted: Silverwing, the Archon Quest bonus, Spiral Abyss from 16 October, Imaginarium Theater from 1 October, daily commissions.
Against a 90-pull hard pity, 26 wishes is just under a third of a guarantee handed over for free. That matters for Phase 2 — Skirk and Escoffier are marked "Available from 10/13/2026" on the wishes "Void Star's Advent" and "La Chanson Cerise", the same day Vesna and Vodyanitsa close at 2026/10/13 17:59. That pair appears only in graphic 21947; no notice body mentions either character and their wish notices are not live yet, so treat the exact start hour as unpublished. Entries 2 to 6 are server time. The end of Version 7.1 itself — the real deadline on the Maintenance Compensation and Missive of Grace mails — is undated in every notice so far.
Three mistakes people are already making
Reading Day 2 as 80,000 Primogems. It is Mora, and the misread shows up every time a login table mixes the two.
Treating 2026/11/03 14:59 as "the end of the version." It is a mid-afternoon server-time cut-off with its own date, not midnight and not tied to whenever 7.1 closes, and it governs both free 5-stars. Players lose whole characters to it every cycle.
Assuming the free 5-star arrives combat-ready. HoYoverse's wording is Ascension Materials "needed to raise the selected character to Lv. 60". Ascension is not levelling: those materials get you past the caps, not the Hero's Wit that fills the bars between them.
