Quick answer. Lauma is a 5-star Dendro Catalyst support for Lunar-Bloom and Bloom teams. Build her on Elemental Mastery: an EM or Energy Recharge Sands, an EM Goblet and an EM Circlet (CRIT only if she is a damage dealer in your team). Use 4-piece Silken Moon's Serenade by default, or 4-piece Deepwood Memories if nobody else holds it. Her signature Nightweaver's Looking Glass is best in slot; the 4-star Etherlight Spindlelute is close behind. Level her Elemental Skill and Burst together. Two numbers decide the build: her personal passives cap at 800 EM, and her Skill's Dendro and Hydro RES shred grows tenfold from talent level 1 to 10. You cannot pull her right now: she is event-exclusive, her last banner ended on 19 May 2026, and she is not in the Version 7.1 free selector.
This guide is current for Version 7.1, "A Rekviem for the Underworld", live since 23 September 2026. Talent numbers come from the in-game talent tables, checked on 17 October 2026.
Can you get Lauma in Version 7.1?
No. Lauma is an event-exclusive character, so she never drops from the Standard Wish. She has had exactly two Character Event Wishes, both called "Moonsong of the Groves":
- 10 to 30 September 2025, Version "Luna I" (her debut, with Barbara, Kuki Shinobu and Kaveh)
- 28 April to 19 May 2026, Version "Luna VI" (with Xingqiu, Kirara and Jahoda)
We checked all 36 live in-game announcements on 17 October 2026, and Lauma's name appears in none of them. The two current Character Event Wishes promote Skirk and Escoffier, one each. The Tabletop Troupe selector (announcement 21924) offers "Tartaglia, Nilou, Baizhu, Chiori, Clorinde, and Varesa", so she is not a free option either.
She is also benched in Imaginarium Theater for the rest of the version. The October season requires Hydro, Cryo and Anemo, the November season requires Hydro, Electro and Geo, and Lauma is not an Opening Character or Special Guest Star in either (announcement 21946). HoYoverse has not announced any Version 7.2 banners, so treat every rerun claim you see as a leak.
If you already own her, read on. If you are saving for her, the build below tells you what she needs on day one.
What does Lauma's kit actually do?
Lauma does three jobs from off-field: she applies Dendro, she shreds resistance, and she buffs every Bloom-family reaction. Keqing Mains sums her up as an "extremely powerful support for Lunar-Bloom teams."
- Elemental Skill (12s cooldown). Both Tap and Hold summon a Frostgrove Sanctuary for 15 seconds. It follows your active character and hits enemies every 2 seconds for Dendro DMG based on ATK and EM. Every hit lowers enemy Dendro and Hydro RES for 10 seconds. Hold needs at least one Verdant Dew. It consumes up to three and adds a Lunar-Bloom hit worth 273.6% of her EM per Dew at level 10. Each Dew consumed gives her one Moon Song.
- Elemental Burst (60 Energy, 15s cooldown). Grants 18 stacks of Pale Hymn, plus 6 more per Moon Song, so a Burst paired with a three-Dew Hold Skill hands out 36 stacks. Each Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon or Lunar-Bloom hit spends one stack and gains flat damage based on Lauma's EM.
- Moonsign Benediction, "Nature's Chorus". With Lauma in the party, every Bloom becomes Lunar-Bloom, her EM raises Lunar-Bloom's Base DMG by up to 14%, and the party's Moonsign goes up one level.
Lunar-Bloom does no damage on its own. It feeds the party Verdant Dew (one per 2.5 seconds, up to three) and still makes ordinary Dendro Cores, which can Hyperbloom or Burgeon as normal.
Why is Lauma's Skill level worth more than you think?
Most build pages say "Skill and Burst first" and move on. The Skill table explains why. Her Elemental RES Decrease is 2.5% at talent level 1 and 25% at level 10: the shred grows tenfold, while the damage rows only grow by about 80%. C5 pushes it to 34%.
Shred is a team buff, so here it is in team terms. By our count, against an enemy with the common 10% base RES:
| Skill level | Dendro and Hydro RES shred | Enemy RES after shred | Damage taken vs level 1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2.5% | 7.5% | baseline |
| 6 | 15% | -5% | +10.8% |
| 9 | 22.5% | -12.5% | +14.9% |
| 10 | 25% | -15% | +16.2% |
| 13 (C5) | 34% | -24% | +21.1% |
That uplift applies to every Dendro and Hydro hit in your party, Nefer's and Columbina's Lunar-Bloom included, because Lunar-Bloom is checked against Dendro RES. It does nothing for Electro, Pyro or Geo damage. So if you are short on Crowns, the Skill is the talent to finish first.
Nascent or Ascendant Gleam: which Lauma are you building?
This is the choice most guides bury. Lauma's first Ascension Passive gives a different buff depending on the party's Moonsign, and the two do not stack.
- Nascent Gleam (Lauma is your only Moonsign character). For 20 seconds after her Skill, Bloom, Hyperbloom and Burgeon damage can CRIT at a fixed 15% CRIT Rate and 100% CRIT DMG. That is roughly a 15% average gain for Dendro Core damage.
- Ascendant Gleam (Lauma plus at least one more Moonsign character). Lunar-Bloom damage gets +10% CRIT Rate and +20% CRIT DMG for the whole party instead.
The ten Moonsign characters are Aino, Columbina, Flins, Illuga, Ineffa, Jahoda, Lauma, Linnea, Nefer and Zibai. Zibai is from Liyue, so "from Nod-Krai" is not the test: the Moonsign tag is.
The trap: adding a second Moonsign character switches the Hyperbloom and Bloom CRIT buff off. Drop Aino into a Nilou or Hyperbloom team "for the Moonsign" and your cores stop critting. It gets worse with Nefer: at Ascendant Gleam her A1 turns Dendro Cores into Seeds of Deceit, which never burst and cannot Hyperbloom or Burgeon.
Decide this before farming:
- Cores do the damage (Nilou Bloom, Hyperbloom, Burgeon): keep Lauma as the only Moonsign unit.
- A Lunar-Bloom carry does the damage (Nefer, Columbina): run Ascendant Gleam, and Silken Moon's Serenade's EM buff doubles from 60 to 120 as a bonus.
How much Elemental Mastery does Lauma need?
Two of her passives scale on her own EM and stop at 800. Her A4 adds 0.04% Skill DMG per point, capped at 32%, and Nature's Chorus adds 0.0175% Lunar-Bloom Base DMG per point, capped at 14%. Both cap at exactly 800 EM.
She gets there easily. At level 90 she has 315.2 EM before gear (200 base plus her 115.2 EM ascension stat). Add an R1 Nightweaver's Looking Glass with both passives up, 4-piece Silken Moon's Serenade at Ascendant Gleam and three EM main stats, and she reaches about 1,380 EM before substats. Swap in an ER Sands and she still lands near 1,190.
Past 800, EM still pays. The Burst has no cap: at level 10 each Pale Hymn stack adds 400.03% of her EM to a Lunar-Bloom hit and 499.97% to a Bloom, Hyperbloom or Burgeon hit. At 1,190 EM that is about 4,760 flat damage per Lunar-Bloom hit before other multipliers, and her Sanctuary keeps scaling too. Do not swap EM for CRIT just because she hit 800 unless she is one of your damage dealers.
One correction to a popular guide: Keqing Mains says 800 EM is what you need to "maximize these buffs", but the second A4 bonus, a cooldown cut on her Spirit Envoy exploration form of 0.02% per EM up to 20%, needs 1,000 EM. It does not touch combat damage, so 800 remains the number that matters.
What are the best artifacts for Lauma?
Main stats: EM or ER Sands, EM Goblet, EM Circlet. Switch the Circlet to CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG only when Lauma deals real damage in your team, usually at C6 or in Ascendant Gleam teams built around her. Substats: ER until you hit your requirement, then EM, then CRIT.
Energy Recharge. Keqing Mains lists 170 to 210% for C0 Lauma as the only Dendro unit, 140 to 175% with a second Dendro outside Nefer teams, and 210 to 225% in double-Dendro Nefer teams. C4 refunds 4 Energy every 5 seconds and drops each range by roughly 35 to 60 points.
Sets, in order of usefulness:
- 4pc Silken Moon's Serenade. 2-piece: +20% Energy Recharge. 4-piece: the whole party gains 60 EM, or 120 EM at Ascendant Gleam, and works off-field. The 4-piece also adds 10% Lunar Reaction DMG per distinct Gleaming Moon effect in the party, so pairing it with a Night of the Sky's Unveiling user is worth 20%. Her default.
- 4pc Deepwood Memories. Another 30% Dendro RES shred, stacking with her own. Someone in a Dendro team should hold it, and Keqing Mains notes her long Skill uptime often makes Lauma the best carrier, even though the 2-piece does little for her.
- 2pc + 2pc EM/ER mixes. Fine when teammates already cover Silken Moon and Deepwood.
- 4pc Gilded Dreams. High EM for her Burst, but only once the two support sets are covered.
- 4pc Night of the Sky's Unveiling. Niche: Ascendant Gleam teams where Lauma does a large share of the damage.
What is Lauma's best weapon?
Nightweaver's Looking Glass (5-star, 542 Base ATK, 265 EM at level 90) is her signature and best in slot. At R1:
- Her Skill dealing Dendro or Hydro DMG gives +60 EM for 4.5s.
- A party Lunar-Bloom gives +60 EM for 10s.
- With both up, the whole party gains +120% Bloom, +80% Hyperbloom and Burgeon, and +40% Lunar-Bloom DMG, even with Lauma off-field.
The detail other pages skip: the 4.5-second buff looks hard to hold, but the Sanctuary's hits count as Elemental Skill DMG and land every 2 seconds. For the Sanctuary's 15 seconds the first condition refreshes itself. The uptime question is really "is the Sanctuary up?", which is why her default rotation is Skill and Burst together.
Alternatives (Keqing Mains, updated for Version "Luna V"):
- Etherlight Spindlelute (4-star, Version 6.0 event weapon): "isn't much worse than her signature."
- A Thousand Floating Dreams, Starcaller's Watch, Sunny Morning Sleep-In (5-star): EM stat sticks, if your ER holds up.
- Blackmarrow Lantern (4-star): high EM, the free-to-play pick if you missed Spindlelute.
- Fruit of Fulfillment (4-star, craftable): weaker, and it wants Lauma triggering Bloom herself.
- Favonius Codex or Prototype Amber: for teams short on Energy or healing.
Which talents should you level, and what does she cost?
Keqing Mains' priority is Skill = Burst, then Level 90. Level 90 matters mainly if her own Bloom or Spread damage counts in your team.
Ascension, 1 to 90: 420,000 Mora, 46 Lightbearing Scale-Feathers, 1 Nagadus Emerald Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks, 6 Gemstones, 168 Moonfall Silver, and 18 Tattered, 30 Immaculate and 36 Frost-Etched Warrants.
Each talent, 1 to 10: 1,652,500 Mora, 3 Teachings, 21 Guides and 38 Philosophies of Moonlight, 6 Tattered, 22 Immaculate and 31 Frost-Etched Warrants, 6 Eroded Scale-Feathers and 1 Crown of Insight. Two talents to 10 is 3.3 million Mora and two Crowns.
What are the best Lauma teams?
Keqing Mains' line-ups, grouped by the Moonsign rule above:
Lunar-Bloom (Ascendant Gleam):
- Lauma, Nefer, Columbina, Nahida. The standard premium team. Swap Nahida for Zhongli or Kuki Shinobu for comfort, or for Sucrose with 4pc Instructor, which Keqing Mains calls competitive with or better than Nahida but harder to play.
- Lauma, Nefer, Aino, Nahida. The cheaper Nefer team. Without Columbina's extra Dew, Lauma uses her Tap Skill so Nefer gets the Verdant Dew.
- Lauma, Columbina, Aino, Ineffa or Kuki Shinobu. On-field Columbina, with Aino easing her Energy needs.
Bloom and Hyperbloom (Nascent Gleam):
- Lauma, Nilou, Kokomi, Nahida or Dendro Traveler. The standard Nilou Bloom team: Nilou turns cores into Bountiful Cores and Lauma's A1 lets them CRIT.
- Lauma, Nilou, Xingqiu, Kaveh. Kaveh drives on field and heals himself; Lauma's Sanctuary carries over between enemy waves.
- Lauma, Kuki Shinobu or Raiden Shogun, a Hydro unit, a flex slot for Hyperbloom. Keep the other slots free of Moonsign characters (Ineffa included) so the CRIT buff stays on.
One deliberate exception: Keqing Mains also lists Lauma, Nilou, Columbina, Nahida. Columbina is a Moonsign character, so the team runs Ascendant Gleam, which pays off because Columbina's own Lunar-Bloom hits are a damage source there.
Rotation default: Hold Skill, then Burst to catch a particle or two, or Burst first so Pale Hymn buffs the Hold Skill's Lunar-Bloom hit. Then swap out. Use Tap only in Nefer teams without Columbina.
Which Lauma constellations matter?
- C1: after Skill or Burst, each party Lunar-Bloom heals the active character for 500% of Lauma's EM, once per 1.9 seconds. It replaces a healer in many teams.
- C2: Pale Hymn adds another 400% EM to Lunar-Bloom and 500% EM to the other Bloom reactions, roughly doubling the Burst at level 10, plus +40% Lunar-Bloom DMG at Ascendant Gleam. A large team-wide upgrade.
- C4: 4 Energy every 5 seconds from the Sanctuary. A quality-of-life ER fix.
- C6: Sanctuary hits add up to 8 Lunar-Bloom hits (185% EM each) and her Normal Attacks can spend Pale Hymn, plus a 25% elevated Lunar-Bloom bonus at Ascendant Gleam. Keqing Mains calls it "Lauma's most powerful Constellation".
C3 adds three Burst levels, which raises the Pale Hymn flat damage. C5 adds three Skill levels, which lifts the shred from 25% to 34%.
Is Lauma still worth pulling when she returns?
Only if you play Lunar-Bloom or Bloom. A 152-upvote r/Genshin_Impact thread on 17 October asked which Lunar character is still worth getting, and one of the top replies called Columbina "the universal lunar reaction maker". That holds: Columbina enables all three Lunar reactions, Lauma only Lunar-Bloom. Lauma's case is that she makes every Bloom-family team better through shred, flat damage and CRIT, and she sits in Keqing Mains' standard Nefer team. If you own Nefer and plan to keep her, Lauma is her best partner. If you do not play Dendro-Hydro teams, skip her.
FAQ
Is Lauma a DPS or a support in Genshin Impact? A support. Most of her value is the Dendro and Hydro RES shred, the Pale Hymn flat damage and her A1 CRIT buff. She becomes a real damage dealer at C6, when her Sanctuary and Normal Attacks deal Lunar-Bloom damage.
Should Lauma use Tap or Hold Skill? Hold in most teams, since it adds a Lunar-Bloom hit and Moon Song for up to 18 extra Pale Hymn stacks. Use Tap only in Nefer teams without Columbina, so Nefer keeps the Verdant Dew for her Charged Attacks.
Does Lauma need CRIT? Usually no. Build full EM as a pure support. Add CRIT only when she deals a large share of the damage, mainly at C6 or in Ascendant Gleam teams built around her.
Can Lauma and Nilou be on the same team? Yes. Lauma is Dendro, so Nilou's Hydro-and-Dendro-only rule is met. In a core-damage Bloom team, keep Lauma the only Moonsign character so Bountiful Cores keep her CRIT buff, and keep Nefer out, because at Ascendant Gleam she turns cores into Seeds of Deceit. Keqing Mains' Lauma, Nilou, Columbina, Nahida team is the exception, because Columbina's Lunar-Bloom hits carry it.
When is Lauma's next banner? Not announced. Her last Character Event Wish ran from 28 April to 19 May 2026, and none of the 36 live announcements on 17 October 2026 mention her. HoYoverse has not published any Version 7.2 banners.
