The instinct with a new off-field Hydro unit is to build her the way you build Xingqiu or Yelan: Energy Recharge, then damage stats, then a Hydro Damage Bonus goblet. On a Columbina build the first part is right and the goblet is the mistake, and it is an expensive one — a large share of what Columbina contributes to a team is Lunar reaction damage, and elemental Damage Bonus is not a term in that formula at all.
Columbina is a 5-star Hydro Catalyst from Nod-Krai, released 14 January 2026, and her value sits in one Moonsign Benediction Passive that converts your party's reactions into Lunar reactions. Lunar damage is calculated differently to normal elemental damage, which is why a stat line copied from any other Hydro off-field unit underperforms on her.
This build is current for Version 7.1, "A Rekviem for the Underworld", live since 23 September 2026, as of 5 October 2026. Every talent value below is read off live in-game attribute tables.
The quick answer
Quick answer: build Columbina on HP% goblet, Energy Recharge or HP% sands, CRIT or HP% circlet, in 4-piece Silken Moon's Serenade, and get Energy Recharge to her requirement before you chase anything else. Her Skill, her Burst, her special Charged Attack and her Lunar damage contribution all scale off Max HP. She is not currently pullable, so this is a farm-and-prepare plan.
- Substat priority follows Keqing Mains: Energy Recharge until you hit your requirement, then CRIT equal to HP%, then Elemental Mastery, then flat HP.
- Skip the Hydro Damage Bonus goblet. It only touches her own Hydro hits; HP% raises those and the Lunar reaction damage your whole party deals.
- Best artifact set: 4-piece Silken Moon's Serenade for team damage. Use 4-piece Aubade of Morningstar and Moon when a teammate is the better holder of Silken Moon's Serenade, and 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling if you actually play her on field.
- Best weapon: Nocturne's Curtain Call, her signature — event-exclusive and not on any live banner. Realistic picks: Prototype Amber (forgeable), Favonius Codex (standard wish), Sacrificial Jade (Battle Pass).
- She is not available right now. Her last banner, Somnias a Luna, ran 21 July – 11 August 2026, and no rerun has been announced as of 5 October 2026.
What does Columbina actually do in a team?
Her in-game Character Summary puts it in one line: "Columbina is an off-field DMG dealer who enables her teammates to trigger Lunar-Charged, Lunar-Bloom, and Lunar-Crystallize reactions, dealing various types of Lunar reaction damage."
That triple enablement is the thing no other character has. Her Moonsign Benediction Passive, Moonlight Lent Unto You, converts a party-triggered Electro-Charged into Lunar-Charged, a Bloom into Lunar-Bloom, and a Hydro-Crystallize into Lunar-Crystallize. Every other enabler covers exactly one: Ineffa and Flins do Lunar-Charged, Nefer and Lauma do Lunar-Bloom, Linnea and Zibai do Lunar-Crystallize. Own Columbina and you can run any of the three archetypes. Our breakdown of how Lunar reactions are calculated covers why the formula matters.
The same passive adds a Base Damage increase to every party member's Lunar reactions: 0.2% per 1,000 points of Columbina's Max HP, capped at 7%, which is 35,000 Max HP. It is the only HP-scaled Moonsign bonus in the game — the others scale ATK, DEF or Elemental Mastery and cap at 14% — and they stack additively, so you want a second Moonsign character regardless.
Her Elemental Skill, Eternal Tides, has a 17-second cooldown and summons Gravity Ripple for 25 seconds. The ripple follows your active character and ticks for 9.36% of Max HP at talent level 1, rising to 16.85% at level 10. The in-game gameplay notes state that "Gravity Ripple attacks once every 2 seconds", and the Advanced Properties table lists that damage as 1 gauge unit with No ICD — so every single ripple tick applies Hydro with no internal cooldown gating it — unlike her Normal Attack chain, which shares a 2.5-second / 3-hit ICD. What people conflate is the second two-second number in her kit: "20 Gravity can be accumulated every 2s" is her Gravity meter filling toward 60, not an application rate.
Which stats and main stats should Columbina run?
Her ascension stat is CRIT Rate, unlocking at Ascension Phase 2 and reaching 19.2% at level 90, on top of base values of 14,695.09 HP, 95.67 ATK and 514.93 DEF. Add the universal 5% every character has and three stacks of her 1st Ascension Passive, Lunacy's Lure, at 5% CRIT Rate each, and she sits at 39.2% CRIT Rate before artifacts.
Everything that matters in her kit scales off Max HP — her plain Normal and Charged Attack chain is ordinary ATK-scaling catalyst filler that no real rotation leans on. Her Burst deals 32.24% of Max HP at talent 1 and 58.03% at talent 10. Her special Charged Attack, Moondew Cleanse — available whenever the party holds at least one Verdant Dew or a Moonridge Dew from her 4th Ascension Passive — deals 1.51% of Max HP three times at talent 1, rising to 2.72% three times at talent 10, costs zero stamina, and can be held to chain. Gravity Interference, which fires when she banks 60 Gravity, deals 8.82% to 15.88% of Max HP in Lunar-Crystallize teams.
So: sands = Energy Recharge or HP%, goblet = HP%, circlet = CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG or HP%. Keqing Mains orders substats as "(ER until requirement) > CRIT = HP% > EM > Flat HP" and warns that "a Triple HP% main stat build is never recommended."
The goblet deserves its own paragraph. Her Gravity Ripple ticks and Burst hit are ordinary Hydro damage instances, so a Hydro goblet does raise them. What it cannot touch is the Lunar reaction damage her party deals, because the Lunar damage formula has no elemental Damage Bonus term — its terms are a Base Reaction Coefficient, a stat term, a Base Damage bonus, an Elemental Mastery term, an Elevation multiplier, a resistance multiplier and a CRIT multiplier. HP% feeds both halves; Hydro Damage Bonus feeds one. Keqing Mains allows that a Hydro goblet can be competitive in teams where Lunar reactions barely trigger, and that Elemental Mastery can rival HP% when nobody else is supplying it — but HP% is the default and the safe build.
Note the distinction, because the article uses both phrases: elemental Damage Bonus does nothing for Lunar damage, while Lunar Reaction DMG Bonus — from her Burst and from Aubade — is a separate term that works, and her constellations feed a third term, Elevation, which the in-game text flags as "calculated independently of other DMG Boost effects." Resistance shred also works, because the resistance multiplier is in the formula — but only on the matching element, since Keqing Mains notes Lunar-Charged, Lunar-Bloom and Lunar-Crystallize are "affected by Electro, Dendro, and Geo RES, respectively." Shredding Hydro resistance does nothing for them, so Zhongli's universal shred and Lauma's Dendro shred land, while a Viridescent Venerer holder only helps when the swirled element matches.
What are Columbina's best artifact sets?
4-piece Silken Moon's Serenade is the default. Its 4-piece reads: "Increases all party members' Elemental Mastery by 60/120 when the party's Moonsign is Nascent Gleam/Ascendant Gleam. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field. All party members' Lunar Reaction DMG is increased by 10% for each different Gleaming Moon effect that party members have." The 2-piece is Energy Recharge +20%, which also helps her hit her Energy requirement. It drops from Frostladen Machinery in Nod-Krai. Keqing Mains: "Columbina should hold this set if her teammates are better suited to other damage or buffing sets."
4-piece Aubade of Morningstar and Moon is her personal-damage set: "When the equipping character is off-field, Lunar Reaction DMG is increased by 20%. When the party's Moonsign Level is at least Ascendant Gleam, Lunar Reaction DMG will be further increased by 40%." That 60% total is the biggest single multiplier available to her, but it needs two Moonsign characters and it falls off three seconds after she steps on field. It drops from Moonchild's Treasures.
The division of labour matters more than the ranking. In Lunar-Charged teams Keqing Mains is explicit: "Between Columbina and Ineffa, the latter should hold 4pc Aubade while the former carries 4pc SMS, since Ineffa's damage output is usually higher."
If you play her on field, 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling is her best set — it grants 15%/30% CRIT Rate at Nascent/Ascendant Gleam. Keqing Mains' caveat is about building around it, not avoiding it: "its CRIT Rate buff can be hard to build around because of her innate CRIT Rate stats from Character Ascension and A1 Passive." With 39.2% already banked, plan your circlet and substats before you commit. 4-piece Flower of Paradise Lost is a Lunar-Bloom-only fallback that Keqing Mains rates "only slightly better than a 2pc+2pc combination." If HP% main stats are your bottleneck rather than the set itself, artifact reshaping is the cheaper fix.
What is the best weapon for Columbina?
Her signature, Nocturne's Curtain Call, is unambiguously best: CRIT DMG secondary, +10% Max HP, and a passive that recovers 14 Energy on a Lunar reaction — at most once every 18 seconds, on or off field — then grants another 14% Max HP and 60% CRIT DMG on Lunar Reaction damage for 12 seconds — the Energy refund is a large part of why Keqing Mains calls it "Columbina's signature and BiS weapon in both playstyles." The honest caveat: it is event-exclusive, it last appeared on Epitome Invocation in July 2026, and the live 7.1 Phase 1 weapon banner running to 13 October 2026 features Beyond the Chrysalis and Hymn of the Maelstrom instead. Phase 2's weapon line-up has not been officially published as of 5 October 2026, so do not plan around it — watch the October banner schedule instead.
What you can actually get, in order:
- Sacrificial Jade — Battle Pass. 32% Max HP and 40 Elemental Mastery while off field for more than five seconds. Keqing Mains calls it "the general second-best weapon for Columbina's off-field damage", with two caveats: she can overcap CRIT Rate with it, and "holding Sacrificial Jade can make meeting ER requirements impractical in some teams."
- Prototype Amber — forgeable at any blacksmith, HP% secondary, and its passive refunds Energy and heals the whole party off her Burst. Keqing Mains groups it with Favonius Codex as "one of Columbina's top weapon choices for general use."
- Favonius Codex — standard wish, Energy Recharge secondary, and its particle passive feeds her teammates' Energy as well as her own.
- Blackmarrow Lantern — forgeable from a diagram sold by Lyulka, Elemental Mastery secondary at 48 to 221. At refinement 1 it grants 48% Bloom damage and 12% Lunar-Bloom damage, plus another 12% at Ascendant Gleam. A genuine Lunar-Bloom pick for zero pulls.
- The Widsith — standard wish, CRIT DMG secondary, random 10-second buff on field entry.
One correction to guides that list it: Ash-Graven Drinking Horn is not obtainable. Its only source was the Traces of Artistry event, which ran from late August to September 2024 and is flagged as no longer available. Several of the new 7.1 weapons are easier to get than that one.
Which Columbina teams actually work in Version 7.1?
Pick the archetype by which 5-star you already own, because Columbina covers all three.
Lunar-Charged. Columbina plus Flins plus Ineffa is the strongest version. Keqing Mains: "Columbina is the best Hydro support for Flins thanks to her full-uptime Hydro application and significant LC buffs. The best Flins team also uses Ineffa." Ineffa takes Aubade, Columbina takes Silken Moon's Serenade, and Ineffa's shield covers sustain.
Lunar-Bloom. Nefer on field, Lauma buffing, Columbina enabling. Keqing Mains rates Nefer "the best on-field DPS to use in a LB team" and Columbina "Nefer's best Hydro support." Two things to know: in a Lauma-plus-Nefer shell, Columbina should Burst every rotation, because the Moonridge Dews her 4th Ascension Passive hands the party only generate inside her Lunar Domain, and without Lauma, Keqing Mains has her Burst every other rotation instead, which halves her Energy Recharge requirement; and Nefer disables Dendro Core damage when she enters her Skill, which turns Hyperbloom and Burgeon triggers into pure sustain slots. See our Nefer build for her side of the pairing.
Lunar-Crystallize. Zibai on field with Columbina enabling. Keqing Mains is blunt about the value: "Getting Columbina for Zibai is a greater upgrade for team DPS than getting Zibai's signature weapon or her C1." Linnea fills the off-field Geo slot.
In all three, add a second Moonsign character to reach Ascendant Gleam, which also makes non-Moonsign characters buff Lunar damage for 20 seconds after their Skill or Burst, up to a shared 36% that does not stack between characters. Hydro contributors reach that cap at 60,000 Max HP, Anemo and Dendro at 1,600 Elemental Mastery, Pyro, Electro and Cryo at 4,000 ATK, and Geo at 3,600 DEF.
What materials does ascending Columbina cost?
Taking her from 0 to 6 ascension stars costs 420,000 Mora plus:
| Material | Amount | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Varunada Lazurite | 1 Sliver, 9 Fragment, 9 Chunk, 6 Gemstone | Hydro normal bosses, any weekly boss at Lv. 75+, or Alchemy from AR 45 |
| Winter Icelea | 168 | Nod-Krai local specialty |
| Radiant Antler | 46 | Frostnight Herra, level 30 and above |
| Slime drops | 18 Condensate, 30 Secretions, 36 Concentrate | Overworld slimes |
The 46 Radiant Antler is the real gate for most players, and 168 Winter Icelea is a full respawn cycle of route-running on top of it.
Each talent from 1 to 10 costs 1,652,500 Mora, 3 Teachings of Moonlight, 21 Guide to Moonlight, 38 Philosophies of Moonlight, 6 Slime Condensate, 22 Slime Secretions, 31 Slime Concentrate, 6 Mask of the Virtuous Doctor from The Doctor's weekly Trounce Domain at level 70 and above, and 1 Crown of Insight.
Level her Elemental Skill first — it controls both the Gravity Ripple tick and every Gravity Interference, which is the bulk of her own output. Her Burst is the close second, and it goes first in teams built around the Lunar Domain, because the Lunar Reaction Damage Bonus it grants the whole party climbs from 13% at level 1 to 40% at level 10 and 49% at level 13. Her Normal Attack talent is last unless you intend to spam Moondew Cleanse on field. Three crowns for a full 10/10/10 is a lot; most players should crown the Skill and leave the rest at 8 or 9.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Columbina's rerun? No rerun has been announced as of 5 October 2026. Her most recent banner, Somnias a Luna, ran 21 July to 11 August 2026 — her debut run of the same banner was 14 January to 3 February 2026 — and the live 7.1 Phase 1 character wishes feature Vesna and Vodyanitsa until 13 October 2026. The useful move while you wait is to bank the 46 Radiant Antler and 168 Winter Icelea now, since neither can be rushed once she is on a banner.
Does Columbina need Energy Recharge? Yes, more than most off-field units, because her Burst costs 60 Energy on a 15-second cooldown and the Lunar Domain is where her 4th Ascension Passive triggers at all. Keqing Mains quotes a solo-Hydro baseline requirement in the 235 to 300%+ range, which is why the Energy Recharge sands, the 2-piece bonus on Silken Moon's Serenade and Favonius Codex all stay in the conversation.
How often does Gravity Interference fire? The in-game gameplay note sets a hard floor: "Gravity Interference can be triggered a maximum of once every 6 seconds." She banks 20 Gravity every 2 seconds while nearby party members trigger Lunar reactions and needs 60, so in practice the real cadence depends on how consistently your team reacts. Her C2 raises the accumulation rate by 34%, which closes that gap — Keqing Mains' calcs put the practical C2 interval at roughly 4.5 seconds, below the published floor.
Is Furina good with Columbina? Not in Lunar-Bloom teams. Keqing Mains states it plainly: "Because Furina's DMG Bonus buff does nothing for LB and Dendro-Core-related damage, her value in Columbina's LB teams is low."
Which constellation is the big one? C2, Not in Lone Splendor — 34% faster Gravity accumulation, 40% Max HP on herself for 8 seconds after a Gravity Interference, and a flat 7% Lunar Reaction Damage for all nearby party members. C1, C3, C4 and C5 each add 1.5% of Lunar Reaction damage elevation on top of that, and C6 adds another 7%.
Can Columbina revive characters? Only in the open world. Her utility passive Lunar Vigil revives an incapacitated party member once every 100 seconds in Nod-Krai or Frost Moon, and the in-game text excludes it from Domains, Trounce Domains and the Spiral Abyss.
