What is a schema in Marathon?

A schema is a blueprint. It is found as loot during a run and it only counts once you extract with it, and it then unlocks that weapon, mod or piece of equipment for crafting and for purchase at your faction vendors. It is not the item itself — a schema farm leaves you able to make or buy the gear repeatedly, while a weapons order hands you the gun once.

How much does a Marathon schema farm cost?

A Standard schema is $3.00, a Superior schema is $6.00 and a Prestige schema is $9.00, because the tier is priced as a 100 and 200 percent step on the Standard rate. You can order between 1 and 25 schemas per checkout. Platform costs nothing on PC, PlayStation or Xbox. Express delivery adds a 30 percent step on the base rate.

Which Marathon schemas survive the seasonal wipe?

Prestige schemas and the schemas claimed from the paid Reward Pass track are Legacy Unlocks, which means they stay on the account permanently. Ordinary Standard and Superior schema unlocks are treated as seasonal progress and are wiped with everything else. Marathon wipes roughly every three months, four times a year, so the Prestige tier is the only part of a schema collection with an unlimited shelf life.

Should I buy schemas before Season 3 on 22 September 2026?

It depends on the tier. Season 3 launches on 22 September 2026 and takes Runner level, Season Level, faction levels, the Vault and most schema unlocks with it, so Standard and Superior schemas bought now serve you only until that date. Prestige schemas are Legacy Unlocks and carry straight through, so they are worth buying at any point in the season.

What are the three Marathon schema tiers?

Marathon sorts schemas into Standard, Superior and Prestige. Standard is the common blueprint tier, Superior sits in the middle, and Prestige is both the rarest and the only tier that counts as a Legacy Unlock. All three unlock crafting and vendor purchase in the same way; the difference is what the plan produces and whether the unlock survives a season rollover.

Can I choose which schemas you farm?

Yes. Set the tier, set how many schemas you want between 1 and 25, and list the specific weapon, mod or equipment plans in the order notes. Marathon has six factions — Arachne, CyberAcme, MIDA, NuCaloric, Sekiguchi and Traxus — and each vendor sells a different slice of the game, so naming the plans tells us which faction vendors your unlocks need to land at.

Which platforms does the schema farm cover?

Choose your platform, pick a tier, set the count between 1 and 25 and decide between Normal and Express. Every schema that is extracted stays unlocked on your account, and everything else looted during those runs stays with you too.

How does the Express option change my schema order?

Express adds a 30 percent step on the base rate and moves the run to the front of our queue, so a single Standard schema goes from $3.00 to $3.90 and ten Standard schemas from $30.00 to $39.00. Normal is the standard queue and carries no surcharge at all. Nothing else changes between the two — the same tier, the same count and the same faction vendors.
