Alchemy 1-375 is $41.93, or $19.41 for 300-375 — the cheapest of the six professions to take to cap.
The payoff is the Alchemist Stone. Redeemer's Alchemist Stone and Sorcerer's Alchemist Stone, plus the Assassin's and Guardian's variants, are item level 125 epics that only an alchemist can equip. Nobody can craft one for you.
Three masteries, and this is the pair almost every site gets backwards:
- Elixir Master — Lorokeem, Lower City, Shattrath;
- Potion Master — Lauranna Thar'well, Cenarion Refuge, Zangarmarsh;
- Transmutation Master — Zarevhi, The Stormspire, Netherstorm.
Each gives a chance to produce 1 to 4 extra items on a craft in its category. Masteries need level 68, and swapping costs 150 gold to your current mastery NPC — it is not a permanent decision.
Elixir Master is the raider's pick: flask procs on Flask of Relentless Assault, Fortification, Pure Death and Blinding Light effectively cut your raid consumable bill in half.
The grind is volume, not price. 300-375 runs on about 55 Felweed, 96 Dreaming Glory, 17 Terocone and 20 Nightmare Vine. Terocone used to be the choke point — Blizzard increased its spawn rate on the Anniversary realms specifically to fix that.
Cauldrons are not trainable. Their recipes come through the Discovery system, which means crafting the matching protection potions until they unlock.
