"When do you think Global will have new zones?" That was one of the newest threads on r/Aion2 this morning, sitting next to a 400-hour player's post about burning out on the first raid. A month after launch, players want to know when the season turns over and what they lose when it does.
NC hasn't announced a Season 2 date for AION 2 Global. But its own notices already set one date for every Season 1 deadline: the scheduled maintenance on Tuesday 15 December 2026 (PST) / Wednesday 16 December 2026 (CET). This guide covers what NC has confirmed, what the Korean Season 2 changed, which Season 1 items will be deleted, and what to use before then. It applies to the AION 2 global PC build after the 3 Nov (PST) / 4 Nov (CET) 2026 patch, and every date below is quoted from NC's own notices on the AION 2 Steam news hub.
Quick answer: NC has not announced a Global Season 2 release date as of 6 November 2026. Every Season 1 deadline it has published ends at the 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) maintenance: Season 1 Daeva Pass rewards, Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Season 1, the Pass Shop and the Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) sales. Listed pass and attendance consumables are deleted at 00:00 PST on 16 Dec, and listed Halloween items at 23:00 PST on 15 Dec / 08:00 CET on 16 Dec. So 16 December is the most likely Season 2 start, but treat it as expected, not confirmed. Use your Season 1 coins and bound event items before then.

Has NC announced an AION 2 Season 2 release date?
No. As of 6 November 2026 there is no Season 2 announcement for Global on NC's Steam news feed or on aion2.plaync.com. The latest notices are the 3/4 November patch notes, the Ludra Awakens event and a hotfix on 4 November.
What NC has done is put an end date on everything labelled "Season 1". Its 28 October Daeva Pass notice says:
"Items provided by the Season 1 Daeva Pass can be claimed until scheduled maintenance on December 15, 2026 (PST); items cannot be claimed after this period has expired."
The same notice says the Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Season 1 and the Pass Shop both stay available until that maintenance. NC's Rise to the Challenge event, which sells Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) for Kina, also runs "before scheduled maintenance on December 15, 2026 (PST)" / "December 16, 2026 (CET)".
Several unofficial sites already print "Season 2 starts December 16" as fact. That date is a reasonable guess, because it is the maintenance where every Season 1 item stops working. But NC hasn't said Season 2 starts then, and it hasn't published any Season 2 content for Global. If NC posts a Season 2 notice, we'll update this page.
Why is 15 December (PST) / 16 December (CET) the likely date?
Three things point to that maintenance.
- Every "Season 1" item expires there. The pass rewards, the Season 1 coin, the Pass Shop and the Season 1 Spiritstone sale all end at the same maintenance. NC's 6 October patch notes also put the first Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) sale "through before the scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, December 15, 2026 (PST)".
- The listed bound event items are deleted right after it. The Daeva Pass and attendance notices delete their listed bound consumables at 00:00 PST on 16 December.
- The gap is close to Korea and Taiwan. AION 2 launched there on 19 November 2025, and Season 2 started on 21 January 2026, 63 days later (NC's Season 2 press release, reported by Game Donga). Global launched on 5 October 2026, and 16 December is 72 days later.
AION 2 maintenance runs on Tuesday night in the Americas and Wednesday morning in Europe. 15 December 2026 is a Tuesday, so the PST and CET dates are the same maintenance.
When does each Season 1 item expire?
These are the deadlines NC has published so far. Times are NC's. Where a notice gives only PST, we have not converted it, because NC sometimes uses different times for PST and CET.
| Deadline (NC time) | What ends | Source notice |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance 24 Nov (PST) / 25 Nov (CET) | Ludra Hunt clears that count for a title (titles sent by 2 Dec, 23:59 PST) | Ludra Awakens Event, 4 Nov |
| Maintenance 1 Dec (PST) / 2 Dec (CET) | Daeva Pass: Prelude to Flight sales, missions and rewards | New Pass Product Info, 28 Oct |
| Maintenance 1 Dec (PST) / 2 Dec (CET) | Atreia's Call 28-day attendance event | New Attendance Event Notice, 28 Oct |
| Maintenance 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) | Claiming Season 1 Daeva Pass items | New Pass Product Info, 28 Oct |
| Maintenance 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) | Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Season 1 and the Pass Shop | New Pass Product Info, 28 Oct |
| Maintenance 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) | Rise to the Challenge: Resurrection Spiritstone (Season 1) for Kina | Rise to the Challenge, 21 Oct |
| 15 Dec 23:00 PST / 16 Dec 08:00 CET | Listed Halloween event items deleted | Trick or Treat, 15 Oct |
| 16 Dec 00:00 PST | Listed pass and attendance bound consumables deleted | Pass and attendance notices, 28 Oct |
Three deadlines come early. Ludra clears only count for a Hunt title until the 24 Nov (PST) / 25 Nov (CET) maintenance, and Prelude to Flight and Atreia's Call both close at the 1 Dec (PST) / 2 Dec (CET) maintenance.
Which items get deleted when Season 1 ends?
This is the part that costs players resources. Each NC notice has its own removal list, so here they are by source. All of them are Bound, so you can't sell them on the Market before they go.
Deleted 16 Dec, 00:00 PST, from the Daeva Pass notice:
- Small Odyle Energy (Bound)
- Unknown Fissure Challenge Ticket (Bound)
- Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket (Bound)
Deleted 16 Dec, 00:00 PST, from the Atreia's Call attendance notice:
- Odyle Energy (Bound)
- Unknown Fissure Challenge Ticket (Bound)
- Content Usage Ticket Selection Chest (Bound)
Deleted 16 Dec, 00:00 PST, from Rise to the Challenge: the Resurrection Spiritstones (Bound) bought there ("removed at midnight on December 16, 2026 (PST)").
Deleted 15 Dec, 23:00 PST / 16 Dec, 08:00 CET, from the Trick or Treat (Halloween) notice:
- Special Halloween Chest
- Resurrection Spiritstone (Bound)
- Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound)
- Nightmare Dungeon Challenge Ticket (Bound)
- Shugo Festival Reward Key (Bound)
- Odyle Energy (Bound)
The outfits above are from NC's Halloween event screenshots and are here for illustration. The items being deleted are the chest, tickets, keys and consumables listed above, not your cosmetics.
Odyle Energy matters most here. It is the fuel for Expedition and Transcendence runs. The attendance and Halloween copies of Odyle Energy (Bound) and the pass's Small Odyle Energy (Bound) are on these lists, so they won't carry into Season 2. The daily Odyle Energy x4 mail from the Ludra event works differently: NC says that event mail "expires 7 days after it's received", so claim it within the week. Our AION 2 Odyle Energy guide covers the recharge rate and caps, so you can plan how fast you can burn the stock.
The permanent Resurrection Spiritstones are a different case. NC says the time-limited Season 1 version "will be consumed first", and your permanent stones are only used after that. Only the event copies are on the removal list.
What should you do before Season 1 ends?
You have the rest of this week plus five more Wednesday (CET) weekly resets before the 15/16 December maintenance. In order of value:
- Spend your Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Season 1. A Premium Prelude to Flight pass gives 1,500 coins at levels 2, 7, 12 and every 5 levels up to 47. That's 15,000 coins. The Pass Shop prices run from 4,000 (Warm Sunlight Shugo earrings skin) to 30,000 (the Shaggy Shugo Friend and Mischievous Shugo breastplate skins), plus Pet: Swift Lugi for 10,000. All are one per character. Coins and paid rewards only go to the character that bought the pass.
- Finish Prelude to Flight before 1 Dec (PST) / 2 Dec (CET). That's the pass deadline, not 15 December. Pass EXP is capped at 15,000 per character per week, so you can't cram it all into the last week. An Expedition or Transcendence clear gives 300 EXP, the biggest single source on NC's list.
- Burn the listed event Odyle Energy on Expedition and Transcendence runs. Use the Bound and Small copies from attendance, Halloween and the pass before your normal recharge.
- Use your challenge tickets. Unknown Fissure and Nightmare Dungeon tickets from the pass, attendance and Halloween all go on 16 December.
- Open any Special Halloween Chest you still have. NC deletes the chest itself on 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET).
- Claim the remaining attendance days. Atreia's Call is 28 days and runs to the 1/2 December maintenance, and it's claimed once per server. Days 7, 14, 21 and 28 give 2 Odyle Energy each, which also expires on 16 December.
You don't need to dump your normal Kina, gear or enhancement progress. Nothing in NC's notices says equipment, Kina or permanent materials are reset at the season change. NC hasn't published its full Season 2 rules yet, so re-check this when it does.

What did Season 2 change in Korea?
Korea and Taiwan are the only regions that have had a season change so far. Both started Season 2 on 21 January 2026, so they're the best guide to what one looks like. NC's Season 2 press release for Korea (21 January 2026, via Game Donga, our translation) listed:
- New PvE: a new Expedition dungeon, a Nightmare stage with 7 bosses, and harder difficulty tiers added to existing dungeon types.
- Rankings: content rankings moved from a cumulative score to best record, and end-of-season rewards are paid by class ranking.
- Abyss: a new Middle Abyss layer with an Enraged Guardian Lord Nahma, plus a buff for the faction losing the Artifact Siege.
- Wardrobe: all owned appearances except Special grade became shareable between characters on the same server.
- Gear: new Soul Binding options, an extra tuning slot, and a gear succession system that moves breakthrough and enhancement levels and Soul Binding to a new item, up to 6 times. Korean site Inven reported the first two transfers at 100% (Inven, 20 Jan 2026).
- Class changes: mostly to the Templar and Cleric.
Global doesn't follow that list. Our build launched with some of it already in: Gear Transfer has been live since October, the Middle Abyss opens at Item Level 3,000, and Nightmare is already in the shop and mission tables. So Global's Season 2 will likely differ, and NC hasn't said what it contains. Don't plan around Korean patch lists, and treat any "Season 2 content list for Global" on unofficial sites as a guess.
The useful takeaway from Korea is the shape. Per NC's release, Korea's season change kept character progress and added a way to carry gear upgrades forward. What turned over was the seasonal layer: a new season, new rankings rules and end-of-season ranking rewards.
Will you fall behind if you don't rush Season 1?
That's the other question on r/Aion2 this week. A fully free-to-play player in the "fall behind" thread (77 comments by midday 6 November) asked "fall behind of what?" and repeated the common line that AION 2 is "a marathon, not a race".
That's mostly right. Based on NC's notices, the season change ends the pass, the Season 1 coin, the Pass Shop and the listed bound event consumables. NC hasn't announced any reset of gear, Item Level, Daevanion points or Kina. The clearest way to lose value is to leave Season 1 items unused. So spend them, finish the pass if you bought Premium, and don't skip sleep to clear Ludra before December.
If you are pushing for the raid, note that the Ludra Hunt titles only count clears before the 24 Nov (PST) / 25 Nov (CET) maintenance. Every clear in that window earns at least the Ludra's Nemesis title, and NC sends titles "no later than December 2nd, 23:59 PST".
How will you know when NC confirms Season 2?
NC posts maintenance and patch notices on Steam shortly before each maintenance. To confirm Season 2:
- Watch the AION 2 Steam news hub and the official update board in the week of 7 December.
- Look for the patch notes for the 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) maintenance. Only an NC notice that names Season 2 confirms it.
- After that maintenance, check the Subscribe menu for a new Daeva Pass.
Our daily and weekly reset checklist has the exact reset clock if you want to plan your last few weekly limits.
FAQ
When does AION 2 Season 2 start on Global? NC hasn't announced it. Every Season 1 deadline ends at the 15 Dec 2026 (PST) / 16 Dec 2026 (CET) maintenance, so that's the most likely start, but it isn't confirmed.
When does AION 2 Season 1 end? NC's notices end Season 1 Daeva Pass rewards, the Daeva Pass Shop Coin: Season 1 and the Pass Shop at the scheduled maintenance on 15 December 2026 (PST) / 16 December 2026 (CET).
Do you lose your gear when AION 2 Season 2 starts? Nothing NC has published says gear, Kina or Item Level reset, but NC hasn't published its Season 2 rules for Global yet. The items on NC's removal lists are bound event consumables, and the Season 1 coin stops working. In Korea, Season 2 kept character progress and added gear succession.
Does Odyle Energy expire in AION 2? Some event copies do. Halloween Odyle Energy (Bound) is deleted on 15 December at 23:00 PST / 16 December at 08:00 CET. Atreia's Call Odyle Energy (Bound) and the pass's Small Odyle Energy (Bound) are deleted on 16 December at 00:00 PST. Ludra event mail expires 7 days after you receive it.
When does the Prelude to Flight Daeva Pass end? Earlier than the season. Sales, missions and rewards close at the 1 December (PST) / 2 December (CET) maintenance. Pass EXP is capped at 15,000 per character per week.
Will Global get Korea's Season 2 content? Probably not as a copy. Global launched with some of Korea's Season 2 systems already in, such as Gear Transfer and the Middle Abyss. NC hasn't published Global Season 2 content yet.
The bottom line
The AION 2 Season 2 release date isn't official yet, but NC has set every Season 1 deadline at the 15 Dec (PST) / 16 Dec (CET) maintenance. Treat that as the date to plan for. Before then, spend your Season 1 coins, finish the Prelude to Flight pass by 1/2 December, and use up event Odyle Energy and challenge tickets. Your gear and Kina aren't on any removal NC has published. We'll update this page as soon as NC posts a Season 2 notice.
