Clash Royale Giant Invasion mini-event screen from November 6 2026: play Giant 10 times, deal 4,000 damage with units enraged by Giant Evolution, enrage 25 units, play Giant 85 times

Updated November 7, 2026 · applies to Clash Royale Season 89 ("King vs. King", November 2 – December 7, 2026). Card effect from Supercell's official Season 89 release notes. Stats and deck numbers are third-party (RoyaleTools, RoyaleTracker) and labelled where used.

Quick answer: Evo Giant is the Evolution of the 5-Elixir Giant, released with Season 89 on November 2, 2026. Once he has taken enough damage (creator testing and trackers put it at 50% HP) he becomes enraged and leaves a trail of Rage that speeds up him and the troops walking behind him, and every hit he lands makes that trail bigger. You unlock him from Pass Royale or with Wild Shards (official Season 89 notes). He needs only 1 Evolution cycle, so he's evolved on your second Giant (10 Elixir in total). The surprise Giant Invasion mini-event that appeared on November 6 asked players to enrage units with him, which is why so many players are asking whether they need him at all.

Supercell's own description sums up how you play him: "The longer you keep him alive, the stronger your push can get." That's the main idea. He has the same stats as a normal Giant. Once he's half dead he rages himself and everything standing in his circle, so a damaged Giant hits the tower faster and so does the support behind him. Played alone, he only rages himself. With a push behind him, he's a strong push card.

Key takeaways

  • Released: November 2, 2026, with Season 89 "King vs. King". Giant and Mirror are boosted for the whole season in the King of Cards event (November 9 – December 7).
  • Unlock: a Pass Royale reward or Wild Shards. The preview reward track shows him as one of the tier-1 picks on the paid pass.
  • Ability: enrages after taking damage (50% HP per RoyaleTools), drops a Rage trail with a 2 to 3.5 tile radius that grows with each attack.
  • Cycle: 1 cycle, the same cheap charge as Evo Mega Knight and Evo Witch.
  • Usage: Evo Giant was in 4.6% of top-200 Ranked battles from November 2 to 6 (RoyaleTools sample of 20,745 battles).
  • Best home: pushes with a lot of support troops: Sparky, Prince + Dark Prince, Graveyard. Not lone Giant spam.

What does Evo Giant do in Clash Royale?

Here's the full official description from the King vs. King release notes:

"This big lug still targets buildings, and is great as the front liner of a push, but let him take enough damage and the gentle Giant is no more! Giant becomes enraged, leaving a trail of Rage that boosts all troops who follow it. Plus, each of his attacks make that Rage trail bigger, and BIGGER."

So, in order:

  • He plays like a normal Giant at first. Same 5 Elixir, same building-only targeting, same slow walk.
  • Damage flips him. Supercell only says "enough damage". RoyaleTools lists the threshold as 50% HP. That makes sense in play: the enemy's defence is what turns him on.
  • The Rage trail powers the push. He keeps dropping short Rage circles (1.5 seconds each) as he walks. Rage means +30% movement and attack speed, and it hits the Giant himself, your troops, and even your buildings and towers inside the circle, according to hands-on testing by official Supercell creator kabutom.
  • Each attack grows the trail. Once he's below half HP, every hit he lands grows the circle in four steps: 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 tiles (same source; RoyaleTools lists the same 2–3.5 range). Your support troops at the tower get raged too.

Compared with the Rage spell (4.5 seconds, 3 tiles, deals damage), each Evo Giant circle is shorter, smaller and does no damage, but it keeps coming for as long as he's alive. Supercell's notes only say it "boosts all troops who follow it". The self-Rage and building details come from creator testing, not the official text.

The three Giant cards in Clash Royale side by side: base Giant, the purple Evolution Giant and the gold Hero Giant, all 5 Elixir

What are Evo Giant's stats?

The Evolution doesn't change the Giant's base numbers. It adds the Rage effect on top. Level 11 (Tournament Standard) values, per RoyaleTools as of November 2, 2026:

StatGiant / Evo Giant (Level 11)
Elixir5
RarityRare (Training Camp starter card)
Hitpoints3,968
Damage253
Hit speed1.5s
Damage per second168
TargetsBuildings only
Evolution cycles1
Enrages at50% HP
Rage trail radius2–3.5 tiles (grows with attacks)
Rage duration on troops1.5s

Treat the bottom four rows as third-party until Supercell's in-game card info confirms them. The HP and damage match the existing Giant card.

Cycle math: Elixir to your first Evolution is the card's cost × (cycles + 1). For Evo Giant that's 5 × 2 = 10 Elixir. Your first Giant charges him and your second one comes out evolved. That's the same 1-cycle charge as Evo Witch and Evo Mega Knight, and cheaper than most 2-cycle Evolutions in our Evolution tier list.

How do you unlock Evo Giant?

There are two official paths, both from the Season 89 notes: "Unlock him in Pass Royale, or unlock him with Wild Shards!"

1. Pass Royale (paid track). In the Season 89 reward-track preview, the first premium tier is a pick-a-reward: Evo Giant (all 6 shards), 200 Hero Coins, 7,500 Common Wild Cards or 15 Legendary Wild Cards. That preview comes from an official-creator Season 89 guide, not a Supercell table, so check the choices in-game. Our Pass Royale value breakdown covers whether the upgrade is worth it this season, including the price conflict ($11.99 was the last official US price; Season 89 guides list $12.99).

2. Wild Shards. If you've saved Wild Shards, you can unlock him without paying. This is the free path, and it's the one the Giant Invasion complaints were about (see below).

3. Shop offers. Players also reported a paid Royale Offer containing Evo Giant (one screenshot showed EUR 11.49, a regional price). Offers vary by account, so don't plan around a specific price.

When can you use him? Giant is a starter card, but the Evolution slot opens at Arena 3, so that's where Evo Giant becomes usable. The Hero slot opens at Arena 5 and the Wild slot at Arena 10 (official mid-March update). Once you have the Wild slot you can run two Evolutions and a Hero in one deck.

What was the Giant Invasion event?

On November 6, 2026, a mini-event called "Giant Invasion!!" appeared on players' main screens with a "2d 15h" timer. It isn't in the Season 89 release notes. Screenshots on r/ClashRoyale show four tasks:

TaskTargetReward shown
Play Giant10Banner decoration
Deal damage with units enraged by Giant Evolution4,000×100 (orange card icon)
Enrage units with Giant Evolution25×200 (orange card icon)
Play Giant85Giant banner decoration

Players described the rewards as Rare Wild Cards and banners, which matches the orange icon. We couldn't confirm that from an official source.

The problem was obvious: two of the four tasks need Evo Giant, and he's locked behind the pass or Wild Shards. A post titled "They want us to unlock Giant Evolution with money so that we can earn rewards" drew 190+ upvotes on r/ClashRoyale within hours. Another post put it more simply: "either we need to use 6 shards saved up and unlock evo giant or buy bp just to play it."

Then it disappeared. About an hour after the first complaints, several players reported the event vanishing from the home screen mid-progress, with a different offer appearing in its place. Supercell hasn't commented. It may have been pulled or it may come back. Either way, the two plain "Play Giant" tasks never needed the Evolution.

If it comes back and you don't own Evo Giant: the "Play Giant" tasks count any Giant, so a Giant deck still earns both banners. The 85-play task is the long one. Giant is boosted for the whole season, so King of Cards progress on the same deck from November 9 makes the grind worth it.

What are the best Evo Giant decks right now?

These come from RoyaleTracker's Evo Giant deck page, checked November 7, 2026. It tracks 18 decks with small samples, from about 130 to 1,300 battles each, and gives no date window. Read the win rates as early signals, not a final meta. Usage-wise, RoyaleTools' top-200 Ranked sample from November 2 to 6 had Giant in 15.2% of battles: base Giant 7%, Evo Giant 4.6%, Hero Giant 3.6%.

1. Evo Giant Sparky (most played)

Evo Giant, Evo Wizard, Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A, Sparky, Zap, Tornado, Heal Spirit, Vines · 3.6 Elixir · 60.3% across ~1,300 battles

Most-played Evo Giant deck in Clash Royale: Evo Giant, Evo Wizard, Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A, Sparky, Zap, Tornado, Heal Spirit and Vines

This is the deck that uses the Rage best. Sparky's slow charge-up is her weakness, and if the trail works like the Rage spell it speeds her up. Tornado pulls defenders into her blast. Zap clears the small troops that soak her shot and resets enemy Infernos. Heal Spirit keeps the Giant alive longer, and that's what grows the trail. The second list with the same shell swaps Vines for Skeletons: 3.4 Elixir, 55.0% over 569 battles.

2. Evo Giant double Prince

Evo Giant, Evo Zap, Hero Mega Minion, Bomber, Prince, Dark Prince, Rage, Lightning · 3.6 Elixir · 68.7% across 150 battles (top win rate, smallest sample)

Evo Giant double-Prince beatdown deck in Clash Royale: Evo Giant, Evo Zap, Hero Mega Minion, Bomber, Prince, Dark Prince, Rage and Lightning

This is an old-school Giant double Prince deck, plus the Rage card. Both Princes charge behind him, the trail speeds them up, and Lightning clears the building or Inferno that would stop the push. A Fireball variant with Evo Bats and Hero Dark Prince (3.4 Elixir, 65.9% over 249 battles) works the same way at lower cost.

3. Evo Giant Graveyard

Evo Giant, Evo Witch, Hero Bowler, Guards, Zappies, Arrows, Graveyard, Giant Snowball · 4.0 Elixir · 57.6% across 879 battles

This is the current Giant Graveyard deck with the Giant evolved instead of the Giant Snowball, and Guards in for Minions. That's the trade-off: the deck already uses both Evolution-capable slots, so adding Evo Giant means giving up another Evolution. The Rage trail helps the Witch's Skeletons and Graveyard Skeletons that follow him in, which is why it fits.

Other lists worth a look

  • Evo Elite Barbarians + Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A + Sparky + Electro Wizard + Rage (3.8, 68.2% over 129 battles)
  • Evo Minion Horde + Hero Mini P.E.K.K.A + Sparky + Skeleton Army (3.8, 65.7% over 216 battles)

Sparky appears in most of the top lists. A Rage effect helps her more than almost any other card because her slow charge is her main weakness.

How do you counter Evo Giant?

The Evolution flips when he takes damage, so your defence is what turns it on. You have three options:

  • Kill the support, not the Giant. A lone raged Giant still only hits buildings, just faster. The trail is dangerous when there are troops behind him. Spells that clear what he's carrying (Fireball, Poison, Arrows or The Log, depending on the support) shut the push down before he reaches a tower.
  • Pull him away from his support. A centre building (Tesla, Cannon, Bomb Tower, Inferno Tower) drags him off his lane. His Rage trail then goes where your building sent him instead of where his support troops are walking.
  • Kill him fast once he's enraged. He still has a normal Giant's 3,968 HP at Level 11. Inferno Tower and Inferno Dragon melt him the same as before, so watch for Zap and Electro Spirit in his deck, which reset the beam.

What doesn't work: chipping him slowly with ranged troops while his support walks in behind. That's what the Evolution rewards. You enrage him and then face a raged Sparky or Prince at your tower.

Should you get Evo Giant, or is he overrated?

Get him if: you already play Giant, Sparky or a Prince beatdown deck, or you're buying Pass Royale anyway and the tier-1 pick is between him and Hero Coins. He's also boosted in King of Cards for the rest of Season 89, and the season runs a Beatdown Challenge (November 23–30). A 1-cycle Evolution on a starter card is useful in every arena from 3 up.

Skip him if: you play cycle, bait or siege decks. A 5-Elixir tank Evolution doesn't fit those, and Wild Shards go further on something you'll actually play. RoyaleTracker's Evolution tier list (updated November 6) ranks 43 Evolutions with Evo Mortar, Evo Battle Ram and Evo Goblin Cage on top. Evo Giant isn't ranked there yet, so the early numbers above are all we have.

One thing he can't do: a Giant card sits in one slot, so you choose between Evo Giant and Hero Giant (the gold one, with the single-use, 2-Elixir grab-and-throw ability). The exception is Evo Mirror: it copies your last card evolved, even if that Evolution isn't in your deck. So Hero Giant into a charged Evo Mirror gives you both on the field. That combo is expensive, but nothing else does it.

FAQ

How do I get Evo Giant in Clash Royale? Unlock him from Pass Royale or with Wild Shards. Those are the two paths in Supercell's Season 89 notes. In the reward-track preview he's one of the tier-1 picks on the paid pass, next to 200 Hero Coins. Some players also saw him in a paid shop offer.

What does Evo Giant do? He plays like a normal Giant until he's taken enough damage (50% HP per creator testing and third-party trackers). Then he keeps dropping short Rage circles that speed up himself and the troops following him. Each of his attacks makes the circle bigger, up to 3.5 tiles.

When did Evo Giant come out? November 2, 2026, the first day of Season 89 ("King vs. King"). He's boosted for the full season, which runs to December 7.

How many cycles does Evo Giant need? One, per RoyaleTools. Your first Giant charges the Evolution and your second comes out evolved, 10 Elixir in total.

Do I need Evo Giant for the Giant Invasion event? For two of its four tasks, yes: "Deal damage with units enraged by Giant Evolution" and "Enrage units with Giant Evolution". The two "Play Giant" tasks count any Giant. The event appeared on November 6, 2026 and disappeared for many players within about an hour. Supercell hasn't said whether it's coming back.

Can I use Evo Giant and Hero Giant in the same deck? Not from the same card, which sits in one slot. The only way to have both on the field is to play Hero Giant and copy him with a charged Evo Mirror, which comes out as Evo Giant.

Is Evo Giant good? In Sparky and Prince beatdown decks, the early numbers are strong: 60.3% across about 1,300 battles for the most-played list. Those are small, early samples, though, and he doesn't fit cycle or bait decks. He's best for Giant players who were going to buy the pass anyway.
