Dead by Daylight Halloween Event 2026: What Is Actually Confirmed

Every October, the same thing happens to Dead by Daylight search results: a dozen pages appear with confident start dates for that year's Halloween event, and most of them are quietly recycling last year's calendar. As of 30 September 2026, Behaviour Interactive has published no start date, no end date, no Tome number and no cosmetic list for Haunted by Daylight 2026.

This page separates the three things readers actually need to keep apart: what Behaviour has confirmed, what four previous events tell you to expect, and what nobody knows yet. Accurate as of 30 September 2026 on live patch 10.1.2a, released 17 September 2026 per the official Steam patch notes.

Quick answer: what is confirmed about the Dead by Daylight Halloween event 2026?

  • No event dates. Behaviour has not published when Haunted by Daylight 2026 begins or ends. Any page giving you an exact 2026 date today is guessing — and several are publishing "18 October to 6 November 2026", which is simply the 2023 calendar with the year swapped.
  • A Halloween event is on the roadmap. The Year 11 roadmap shown at the 10th Anniversary Broadcast (recapped on deadbydaylight.com, 15 June 2026) places a Halloween slot in October. The recap page's only explicit October line is the Diablo IV Collection.
  • Three collaborations are queued. Diablo IV cosmetics in October, the Terrifier chapter with Art the Clown in November, and a Scooby-Doo collection in December — all announced 14 June 2026, none with a hard date.
  • The current live patch is 10.1.2a. Patch 10.2.0 is still PTB-only, fifteen days after the PTB opened on 15 September. It has no announced live date.

If you are here because you want to bank Bloodpoints before the event opens, the practical prep list is at the end of this guide.

What else does Behaviour have stacked in October?

Behaviour has three announced-but-undated pieces of content across the next ninety days, plus an unscheduled Halloween event. Seeing them laid out is the fastest way to understand why October's calendar is still blank:

ContentAnnouncedWindow givenHard date?
Diablo IV Collection (cosmetics)14 June 2026October 2026No
Haunted by Daylight 2026Year 11 roadmap, June 2026October (roadmap slot)No
Terrifier chapter — Art the Clown14 June 2026November 2026No
Scooby-Doo Collection (cosmetics)14 June 2026December 2026No

The Diablo tie-in is the most concrete of the four. Behaviour's own announcement framed it as a cosmetic collection rather than a chapter, and the first item shown was a Lilith outfit for The Artist — listed on the community wiki as a Visceral Legendary outfit for Carmina Mora. No price, no date.

The Scooby-Doo entry is the only one of the four with a verbatim publisher quote attached, and it landed this morning. Warner Bros. Discovery's Scoobtober 2026 press release, dated 30 September 2026, says:

"Then, this December, Dead by Daylight will marks [sic] an unprecedented crossover as iconic Scooby-Doo elements and character-inspired cosmetics collections will arrive in the Fog for the very first time, bringing a touch of Mystery Inc. to the fan-favorite horror hit."

That is a publisher confirming a December window on the record, and it is still not a date.

When has the Dead by Daylight Halloween event started in past years?

This is the honest substitute for a 2026 date. Dead by Daylight has run a Halloween event every year since 2017, and Haunted by Daylight specifically has run four times. Here is the full lineage with published dates:

EventStartEndLengthEvent Tome
All Hallows' Eve26 Oct 20171 Nov 20177 days—
The Hallowed Blight19 Oct 20182 Nov 201814 days—
The Withering Blight30 Oct 201910 Nov 201911 days—

Haunted by Daylight 202514 Oct 20254 Nov 202521 daysnot published
Haunted by Daylight 2026not publishednot published——

Two patterns are stable enough to plan around, and one common claim is wrong.

The stable parts: every Haunted by Daylight has started in the 13–18 October band, and the two most recent editions both ran 21 days, ending in the first week of November — 2023 was the 19-day outlier. If 2026 follows form, mid-October to early November is a reasonable personal assumption — but it is an assumption, not a Behaviour statement, and this page will not print a fake date to look more confident.

The wrong claim: Haunted by Daylight did not replace the Hallowed Blight. Three separate events sat between them — Withering Blight, Eternal Blight and Midnight Grove. The Hallowed Blight name survives today only as a cosmetic collection sold during the modern event, which is a different thing from the 2018 event of the same name.

How does the Void work in Dead by Daylight's Halloween event?

The Void is the event's core mechanic, and it has been rebuilt almost every year. If you are returning after a season away, the important thing to know is that the numbers do not carry over between years. Below is the 2025 ruleset, which is the most recent version actually played and the most likely starting point for 2026.

Behaviour describes the setup as the Void Realm bleeding into the Fog, filled with the discarded husks of those drained of their emotions. Inside it, Killers lose their Terror Radius and Survivors run into Haunts that inflict Hindered.

The 2025 ruleset, by the numbers:

  • Portals. One Rift stabilises automatically at the start of a Trial. Three more exist as Unstable Rifts and must be stabilised by depositing Void Energy, for a maximum of four Portals.
  • Void Energy. Earned from event objectives — destroying a pumpkin grants +12, with more from event Generators, event Hooks, and floating Void Orbs.
  • The Void Well. Depositing 70 Void Energy pays out asymmetrically: a Killer receives 3 charges of Captured Haunts, a Survivor receives 1 Void Crystal.
  • Void Crystal (Survivor). Repairs a generator at 0.8% per second for up to 30 seconds — 24% of a generator in total.
  • Captured Haunts (Killer). Each Break or Damage action spends a charge for +30% action speed; launching a Haunt spends a charge and starts a cooldown.
  • Haunts. Three spawn inside the Void, move at up to 5 m/s, and on contact inflict Hindered (−12%) for 7 seconds and force a scream.
  • Inside the Void. Survivors are Broken and Exhausted; Killers are Undetectable.

The year-to-year drift is real and worth seeing, because it explains why old guides mislead:

YearVoid shapeKey number
2022No Void to enter; energy deposited into roaming Unstable RiftsCarry cap 15; "Rift Satisfied" at 30 paid 10,000 BP + 15s Haste
2023Void opens as a timed windowCarry cap 60; Void opened for 120s at 40 banked
2024Up to four simultaneous portals introducedCarry cap 100; generators 2 energy/second, pumpkins 12
2025Four-portal version refined, asymmetric Well payout70 energy per Well deposit

One terminology note, because it is the most common error in Halloween-event write-ups: Hallowed Nectar and Pustula Petals are 2018 Hallowed Blight terms, not Void terms. If a guide attaches them to the Void, it is stitching two different events together.

What rewards does Haunted by Daylight give?

The reward structure has been consistent since 2023 and is the part most likely to return unchanged.

  • Dark Trinkets are the temporary event currency, introduced in 2023 and used every year since. They come from event Tome challenges, Tome levels and daily logins, and are spent on event cosmetics. In 2024, players received 100 Dark Trinkets on first login.
  • Daily login Bloodpoints are the single biggest reason to show up every day. Published totals: 700,000 BP + 40 Rift Fragments across the 2022 event, and 675,000 BP + 40 Rift Fragments across 2023. In 2025 the daily reward renewed at 15:00 UTC and paid 25,000 or 50,000 BP per day, with larger bundles on the first event day and on Halloween itself.
  • Free cosmetic tiers. Every recent year has given out a batch of Survivor skeleton shirts and Killer candy-themed weapons — six of each in 2024. In 2025 the shirts went to Dwight, Vee and Zarina, and the candy weapons to Krasue, Oni and Trickster.
  • Quest-unlock outfits. 2025's were Felix Richter's "Inferno Core" and The Skull Merchant's "Dia Das Bruxas".
  • Paid store collections run alongside: Tricks and Treats, Hallowed Blight, and usually a guest collection.
  • A Bloodpoint multiplier offering. The Arcane Dousing Rod granted +100% Bloodpoints on event score events in 2024.

Twitch Drops have accompanied the event in past years — typically three tiered rewards unlocked at watch-time thresholds, usually charms, badges and banners. Behaviour's own support documentation confirms the mechanism: link your Behaviour Account to Twitch and to your game platform, watch a Drops-enabled stream to hit the tier, then claim from your Twitch inventory and restart the game. The 2026 reward list is unannounced, and the per-year lists circulating for 2025 contradict each other badly enough that this page will not repeat them.

Why do players keep asking for the Hallowed Blight back?

If you read r/deadbydaylight in the run-up to October, one sentiment recurs: "I'm praying for hallowed blight comeback one year. Thematically the best event that just needs modern features." It is worth understanding why, because it is not pure nostalgia.

The 2018 Hallowed Blight ran 19 October to 2 November and worked completely differently. Survivors harvested Visceral Cankers on the map to fill a Nectar Vial; Killers filled theirs by hooking a Survivor on a Cankerous Hook for the first time. A filled Vial awarded 1 Putrid Serum, and the maximum obtainable was 60 Putrid Serum — enough for two full outfits, or six individual pieces. There was a genuine loss condition: any Nectar that had not filled the Vial to the next marker was lost on death. Pustula Petals were an offering that called on the Entity for extra Cankers and Hooks, up to seven total, plus bonus Bloodpoints. The event's daily lore entries, later retconned to Talbot Grimes, are the origin story of The Blight.

The complaint has a documented shape. A Behaviour forum thread from October 2020 traces the three Blight iterations: 2018 gave free cosmetics earned purely through gameplay, 2019 moved serum into the new Rift system while still yielding six free pieces, and by 2020 the free cosmetics were gone entirely, with flowers locked behind Tome challenges and only Bloodpoints and charms left. One poster summed it up: "There's nothing this year…It's just empty. Absolutely empty."

So the ask is specific: 2018 let you earn full event outfits by playing, and the modern event sells those same Hallowed Blight skins in the store. Whether Behaviour revisits that is unknown — it has made no statement on it.

What else is confirmed for Dead by Daylight this autumn?

Three collaborations are queued behind the Halloween event, and all three were revealed at the 10th Anniversary Broadcast on 14 June 2026:

  • Diablo IV Collection — October 2026. Cosmetics only, explicitly not a chapter. The reveal showed a Lilith outfit for The Artist, catalogued as a Visceral Legendary outfit. No date, no price.
  • Terrifier / Art the Clown — November 2026. A licensed chapter, revealed on stage with the original actor David Howard Thornton. The Killer's in-game epithet has not been revealed, and Behaviour has not said whether a Survivor or map ships alongside him.
  • Scooby-Doo Collection — December 2026. Cosmetics, now corroborated by the Warner Bros. press release quoted above.

Two other live facts worth knowing before you plan your October: 10.2.0 is still on the PTB, carrying a Survivor Intent System message wheel and a large batch of perk changes, with no live date published — the detail is in our 10.2.0 patch notes breakdown and the perk change list. And the official Behaviour forums close at the end of October 2026, with the community moving to Discord, Steam Discussions and Reddit, so forum links you bookmark now may rot.

How to get ready before the event starts

Nothing here depends on knowing the date, which is exactly the point.

  • Bank your Bloodpoints now, not during the event. Event scoring and the Arcane Dousing Rod historically stack with the event's own bonuses, so entering with a full 2,000,000 BP cap and spending during the event is the wrong order. Spend down before it starts so nothing is wasted at the cap, then farm into the bonuses.
  • Redeem anything still live. Behaviour has issued no Halloween code yet, but codes have historically landed around big beats. Our October 2026 codes page is refreshed whenever a code is added or dies, and the Bloodpoint code list tracks the BP-specific ones.
  • Link your accounts for Drops before the event, not during it. Behaviour Account → Twitch → game platform. Doing this mid-broadcast is how people miss the first tier.
  • Pick your loadout for event objectives, not for win rate. The Void rewards map presence and objective interaction. If you want a current read on what is actually strong on 10.1.2a, start with the killer tier list and the survivor tier list.

FAQ

When does the Dead by Daylight Halloween event 2026 start? Behaviour Interactive has not published a start date as of 30 September 2026. A Halloween slot appears in the October window on the Year 11 roadmap, and every previous Haunted by Daylight began between 13 and 18 October, but no 2026 date exists yet. Treat any site printing an exact 2026 date as recycling an older calendar.

Is Haunted by Daylight returning in 2026? It is placed on the Year 11 roadmap shown at the 10th Anniversary Broadcast in June 2026, which would make 2026 the fifth Haunted by Daylight after 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Behaviour has not published its cosmetics, Tome number or dates.

How long does the Dead by Daylight Halloween event last? The two most recent editions each ran 21 days — 17 October to 7 November 2024, and 14 October to 4 November 2025. The 2023 edition was shorter at 19 days, 18 October to 6 November. The 2026 length is unannounced.

What is the Void in Dead by Daylight? It is the Halloween event's core mechanic — a parallel realm that bleeds into the Trial through Portals. In the 2025 version, depositing 70 Void Energy at the Void Well gave Killers 3 charges of Captured Haunts and Survivors 1 Void Crystal, which repairs 24% of a generator over 30 seconds. Inside the Void, Survivors are Broken and Exhausted while Killers are Undetectable.

Are there Dead by Daylight codes for the Halloween event? None have been published for 2026. Codes have historically appeared around major beats rather than on a schedule, so the practical answer is to check a list that dates its entries instead of one that pads them.

Is the Terrifier chapter part of the Halloween event? No. Art the Clown was announced for November 2026, a separate beat from the October Halloween event. The October collaboration Behaviour has confirmed is the Diablo cosmetic collection, which is cosmetics only and not a chapter.

What patch is Dead by Daylight on right now? Live patch 10.1.2a, released 17 September 2026. Patch 10.2.0 — which brings the Survivor Intent System and a large perk pass — has been on the PTB since 15 September and has no announced live release date.
