DBD New Survivor: Aurora Stardotter's Perks, How to Unlock Her, and Who's Next

Aurora Stardotter facing The Judgment and its Divine Light in Dead by Daylight Chapter 46, Chorus of Sin

Search for the new Dead by Daylight Survivor and you will mostly find pages that paraphrase her perk descriptions without a single number in them — which is a problem, because two of Aurora Stardotter's three perks are decided entirely by their tier values, and the third does something no other Boon does. Here are the numbers Behaviour Interactive actually shipped, from the official 10.1.0 patch notes, plus the thing nobody has written up: Aurora came out of the biggest perk rebalance of the year untouched.

Quick answer

  • The newest Survivor is Aurora Stardotter. She released on 25 August 2026 as part of Chapter 46, Chorus of Sin, alongside the Killer The Judgment.
  • Her three perks are Fruits of your Labor, Salvation's Cry, and Boon: Steadfast. Exact tier values are below.
  • She is a non-licensed Survivor — Behaviour's own character page classifies her as original DLC, the designation that has historically meant a character is purchasable with in-game currency as well as with money.
  • The Chorus of Sin Chapter costs $7.99 on Steam and bundles The Judgment, Aurora, and two cosmetics that are not sold separately.
  • Chorus of Sin is the game's first community-created Chapter, which is why her kit reads differently from everything around it.
  • Patch 10.2.0 changed 58 perks. None of them were hers — and the section below explains why that matters.

Who Aurora Stardotter is

Behaviour's own one-line pitch for her: "In the wake of calamity, Aurora Stardotter brought the helpless back from the brink. Use her faith and conviction to lead your teammates through the horrors hiding in The Fog."

Her lore places her among the Searchers of Terra Primus, sentenced to death alongside her own people before The Judgment arrived "in a blaze of fiery retribution." She escaped and used what the game calls her gift of star-reading to guide survivors to sanctuary in the wastes. When she later went to The Judgment to plead for her people, it threw her into Exile instead — the same mechanic it uses in a Trial — until a group of Survivors liberated her into the Fog.

That connection is unusually tight for a Chapter pairing. She was already The Judgment's prisoner before the Fog took her, and Exile and the Liberate interaction in its kit are her origin story played out as a game mechanic.

Aurora Stardotter character portrait

Her origin outside the fiction matters too. Steam's store page describes Chorus of Sin as "Dead by Daylight's first community-created Chapter" — Aurora and The Judgment are the first characters in a ten-year-old game to come out of that process rather than in-house design, which is why her kit does not look like a normal Survivor release.

Aurora Stardotter's three perks, with the real numbers

These are the live values from the 10.1.0 patch notes. Tier I / Tier II / Tier III, in that order.

Fruits of your Labor

  • Whenever a Generator is completed, you earn 1 Token.
  • Whenever you finish repairing a Generator, for each Token you gain 5% Haste for 2 seconds.
  • Whenever you finish repairing a Generator, for each Token you gain 10% / 15% / 20% healing progress.

The Haste is fixed at 5% per Token and does not scale with tier — only the healing chunk does. Read it carefully: Tokens come from any Generator being completed, but the payout only fires when you finish one. The perk therefore rewards letting the team bank Generators early and personally closing out a late one. Finish the first Generator yourself and you get almost nothing.

The healing progress is accumulated rather than instant. At three Tokens on Tier III that is 60% of a health state's worth of healing banked for you — the part that makes it a real alternative to a dedicated healing perk.

Salvation's Cry

  • Whenever the Killer starts chasing you, you see the Auras of other Survivors for 1 / 2 / 3 seconds.
  • Whenever the Killer starts chasing you, Survivors not being chased see your Aura for 5 seconds.
  • Whenever the Killer starts chasing you, Survivors not being chased see the Killer's Aura for 5 seconds.

Note the asymmetry, because almost every summary of this perk gets it wrong. The duration you get is the one that scales, and it is short — 3 seconds at maximum. Your teammates' two durations are a flat 5 seconds at every tier.

That makes Salvation's Cry a perk you bring for other people. At Tier I your team still gets the full 5-second read on both you and the Killer; only your own information is cut to 1 second. If you are short on Bloodpoints, this is the one of her three where levelling it up barely changes what the squad gets.

Boon: Steadfast

  • While next to a Totem, press the Active Ability button to bless it, creating a unique Boon Totem that combines all your Boons.
  • Generators within the Boon's range regress 50% slower.
  • Survivors repair Generators within the Boon's range 8% / 9% / 10% faster.
  • Survivors within the Boon's range see the Auras of affected Generators.

This is the headline perk, and the 50% regression reduction is the number that matters — it does not scale with tier, so a Tier I Boon: Steadfast already delivers the full effect. The repair bonus is the only part that tiers up, and the spread is tiny.

It is also the first Boon that changes how Generators themselves behave. The rest of the Boon family works on Survivor bodies — healing, exhaustion recovery, endurance — and the closest previous case, Boon: Illumination, only reveals Generator Auras rather than touching repair or regression. Steadfast is anti-regression placed on the map as a physical object, which inverts the counterplay: the Killer has to walk to your Totem and snuff it instead of pressuring the Generator.

Behaviour needed three separate bug fixes for it in 10.1.0 alone — among them idle Generators regressing while affected by it, and the repair bonus stacking when a Generator sat inside two Boon ranges.

The part nobody has covered: 10.2.0 skipped her entirely

On 14 September 2026 Behaviour published a developer update opening with, in their words, "spoiler alert: 58 perks are changing." The breakdown they gave was 26 perks affected by Diminishing Returns adjustments, 23 general perks reworked "to breathe new life into them," and 9 perks that "either promote unhealthy playstyles or are oppressive while avoiding the impacts of Diminishing Returns."

The 10.2.0 PTB patch notes landed the next day and ran to over 30,000 characters of perk changes. Kindred, Resilience, We'll Make It, Better Than New, Empathic Connection, Flow State, Do No Harm, Dark Sense and Boon: Illumination all moved; Sole Survivor was reworked into Down to the Last, and Borrowed Time was reworked outright.

Fruits of your Labor, Salvation's Cry and Boon: Steadfast do not appear anywhere in that document.

For a Survivor who had been live for three weeks when the largest perk pass of the year was drafted, that is a meaningful verdict. Behaviour looked at the whole Survivor perk pool, decided 58 entries needed intervention, and left all three of hers exactly as shipped. If you were waiting to see whether her kit would survive a balance pass before investing Bloodpoints in her, it already has.

One caveat, and it is a real one. Boon: Illumination was changed in 10.2.0, and Illumination is in the same family as Steadfast — both create "a unique Boon Totem that combines all your Boons." Illumination's new version makes you bless 150% / 175% / 200% faster while you have a Boon Totem up. So a Steadfast build genuinely did get better in 10.2.0, just not through Steadfast. Her perk text is identical; the ecosystem around it moved.

The Judgment, by contrast, did get touched — Divine Light can now detect Survivors hiding in Lockers, and a fix went in for a Loud Noise Notification that could be spammed by Survivors running Made For This. If you want the Killer side of that, our 10.2.0 perk changes breakdown and The Judgment guide cover it properly.

How to actually unlock her

There are two routes, and only one of them has a number we can verify.

The paid route. Dead by Daylight: Chorus of Sin is $7.99 USD on Steam, released 25 August 2026. Its content list is The Judgment, Aurora Stardotter, and two exclusive items — Peridot Incarnation for The Judgment, Fate's Chosen for Aurora — which Behaviour's store copy says "are only available as part of the DLC and cannot be purchased separately." If the cosmetic matters to you, the Chapter purchase is the only way in.

Fate's Chosen, Aurora Stardotter's DLC-exclusive outfit

The in-game route. Behaviour classifies Aurora as original DLC on the official character page, which is the designation used for non-licensed characters. Historically that designation is what separates characters you can buy with in-game currency from licensed Survivors, who can only be bought with real money — so the in-game store is the route to her without spending anything.

We are deliberately not printing an Auric Cells or Iridescent Shards figure. Behaviour does not publish per-character store prices on its website or in its support articles, and the numbers on aggregator sites are copied from each other rather than sourced. Open the in-game store and read the price off her tile — it is the only version of that number we would trust.

What we can tell you is that buying her with Shards does not get you Fate's Chosen. That cosmetic is bound to the DLC purchase.

Where she sits in the roster

As of early October 2026, Behaviour's own character roster lists 53 Survivors, and Aurora is the 53rd — the most recent addition on either side of the Trial. The same page lists 42 Killers, but read that as the number of Killers with a page on the site rather than a count of what you can play: The Shape and The Cenobite are both missing from it, and both of their character pages return a 404. That is where the "44 Killers" figure you see elsewhere comes from.

You will see "54 Survivors" quoted in a few places, including some of our own older coverage. The discrepancy comes from her internal asset naming: Behaviour's files label her S54, which looks like a roster position but is an internal sequence number, not a count of live characters. The published roster is 53.

There is a matching gotcha on the Chapter number. Some trackers file Chorus of Sin as "Chapter 41" — Behaviour's own chapters page numbers it 46, and gives 41 to Sinister Grace from September 2025, so 46 is the figure we use.

The Survivor before her was Shane Wiigwaas, from Chapter 45, The Life Road — a Survivor-only Chapter whose own content list reads "New Survivor: Shane Wiigwaas" and nothing else. Aurora is the first new Survivor since then to arrive as half of a full Chapter pairing.

Who the next new Survivor is

Two things are in motion, and the honest answer is that neither has a release date.

The Terrifier Chapter. Art the Clown is the next Killer everyone is pointing at, and community attention has clearly already moved there — the live balance argument about The Judgment keeps circling back to players assuming Behaviour's focus has shifted to Terrifier. Whether that Chapter ships a Survivor alongside him has not been stated anywhere we can source, and as of this writing there is nothing about it on Behaviour's own news feed. Our Art the Clown first look collects what is actually known.

A possible NieR: Automata collaboration. The official Dead by Daylight account posted two teasers in early October 2026 that fans read as pointing at NieR: Automata, based on the typeface and the YoRHa-style background treatment, and the reading is that it is a cosmetic collection for four existing Survivors rather than new characters. There is no official announcement, so no confirmed roster, price or date — and a cosmetic collection would not add a Survivor anyway. We walk through exactly what has and has not been confirmed in our NieR: Automata collab piece.

The Aurora's Telereceptor trap

If you search her name you will run into "Aurora's Telereceptor" and conclude it is one of her perks or abilities. It is not. Aurora's Telereceptor is one of The Judgment's add-ons.

It is an aura-reading add-on for the Killer, named after Aurora because it is thematically a piece of her star-reading equipment that The Judgment has taken. Behaviour's 10.1.0 dev note calls it "a very consistent source of aura reading with the power, which becomes especially powerful when extended by Lethal Pursuer," so the patch gave it a drawback: a Heretic who sees the Killer's Aura now sees it 2 seconds longer, "giving survivors an extra heads up" and "making this a riskier choice compared to other aura addons."

Nothing about it belongs in an Aurora Stardotter build. If a guide lists it under her perks, it has not read the notes.

FAQ

Who is the newest Survivor in Dead by Daylight? Aurora Stardotter, released 25 August 2026 in Chapter 46, Chorus of Sin, alongside the Killer The Judgment. She is the 53rd Survivor on the official roster.

What are Aurora Stardotter's perks? Fruits of your Labor, Salvation's Cry, and Boon: Steadfast. Boon: Steadfast is the first Boon that changes how Generators behave rather than what Survivors can do, slowing regression inside its range by 50%.

Is Aurora Stardotter free? Not immediately, but she does not require a real-money purchase. She is classified as original DLC, the non-licensed category that can be unlocked with in-game currency. The $7.99 Chorus of Sin Chapter is the paid route and the only way to get her Fate's Chosen cosmetic.

Were Aurora's perks nerfed in 10.2.0? No. Patch 10.2.0 changed 58 perks and none of her three were among them. Boon: Illumination, which belongs to the same combined-Boon family as Boon: Steadfast, was changed, so Steadfast builds improved indirectly.

Is Boon: Steadfast worth levelling to Tier III? Only mildly. The 50% regression reduction, the Generator aura reveal and the Boon-combining behaviour are all identical at Tier I. Tier III only raises the repair bonus from 8% to 10%.

Is Aurora's Telereceptor one of her perks? No. It is an aura-reading add-on for The Judgment. Since 10.1.0 it also carries a drawback: a Heretic who sees the Killer's Aura sees it for 2 seconds longer.

Who is the next new Survivor? Unconfirmed. The Terrifier Chapter with Art the Clown is next in the pipeline, and a NieR: Automata cosmetic collaboration for four Survivors has been teased but not announced. No dates have been published for either.
