Quick answer (22 October 2026, Patch 10.2.2): the next big Dead by Daylight drop is the licensed Terrifier Chapter with Art the Clown, which Behaviour dates only as November 2026. Before that, Lights Out: Stranger Things Edition runs 5 to 12 November 2026. After it come the Scooby-Doo Collection (later this year), The Casting of Frank Stone Chapter in March 2027, a new map called The Mall, and a full visual overhaul targeted for 2027.

Most "DBD roadmap" pages mix three kinds of information: dates Behaviour Interactive (BHVR) has actually published, dates from trackers and leak accounts, and dates copied from last year's calendar. This page separates them. Every item below is tagged Confirmed (BHVR said it, with a source), Estimate (third-party or pattern-based) or Announced, no date.

We update this page in place whenever BHVR posts a roadmap, a patch or a broadcast. It was last checked on 22 October 2026, with Patch 10.2.2 (20 October 2026) as the live build.

What is on the DBD roadmap right now?

Here is the full forward calendar in one table. Dates in bold are first-party.

Three numbers frame the next six months: 1 licensed Killer still to ship in 2026, 7 days of Lights Out in November, and roughly 4 months between the Terrifier month and the Frank Stone Chapter.

When is the next DBD killer coming out?

The next Killer is Art the Clown from Damien Leone's Terrifier. BHVR revealed the Chapter at the end of the 10th Anniversary Broadcast in Montreal on 14 June 2026. In its official anniversary recap, BHVR wrote that David Howard Thornton "made a dramatic entrance in full Art the Clown makeup and costume to announce (silently, of course) that Terrifier is officially coming to Dead by Daylight."

What BHVR has dated since then is a month, not a day. The official title card says "Coming November 2026". Nothing has gone up on the BHVR forum, Steam or deadbydaylight.com that names a PTB date or a release day.

What you will read elsewhere, and where it comes from:

  • "PTB on 27 October" comes from leak accounts posting on 1 October. One outlet then reported it as a Behaviour announcement. We found no BHVR post that supports that wording.
  • "Live on 17 November" comes from the same leak accounts and from cadence estimates. The community wiki has since repeated it.
  • Whether there is a Survivor is still unknown. BHVR has only shown Art.

DBD Chapters usually get a public test build about three weeks before launch, so a late-October PTB would fit a mid-November release. That is a pattern, not a promise. For everything known about Art's likely kit, see our Art the Clown Terrifier first look.

Who comes after Art? BHVR's next dated Chapter is The Casting of Frank Stone, arriving in March 2027. In BHVR's words, "Stone's story will continue in Dead by Daylight as its own full Chapter arriving in March of 2027", adding that "specifics are still being kept under wraps". No Killer or Survivor name has been published first-party, so ignore any character list you see for it.

What happens in DBD in October and November 2026?

BHVR's October of Horror Broadcast on 1 October laid out a six-week content map. Here is where each week stands on 22 October:

Haunted by Daylight 2026 is the Halloween event, scheduled for 13 October to 3 November 2026. Void Energy, Void Crystals and Captured Haunts replace the old crafting loop this year, and Dark Trinkets are the event currency. Our Haunted by Daylight 2026 guide covers the mode, and the rewards and Dark Trinkets breakdown covers the payouts.

The Diablo Collection went live on 20 October. It is cosmetics only, with outfits for The Artist, The Dredge, The Nurse, David, Taurie Cain and Zarina Kassir. Lilith is the Legendary for The Artist. It is not a Chapter, so no new Killer and no new perks.

November Days (a Ghost Face outfit set) is listed by trackers for 30 October. BHVR has not posted a date card for it, so treat that day as an estimate.

Lights Out: Stranger Things Edition is the one November date BHVR has put in writing. The Patch 10.2.2 notes (BHVR forum KB 562, 20 October 2026) say: "Event will run from November 5th - November 12th." Lights Out plays with no perks and very little light. This edition pairs with the returning Stranger Things content, Steve and Nancy alongside Vecna. Our DBD patch notes hub tracks the seven Lights Out fixes that shipped in 10.2.2.

What is coming to DBD in December 2026?

Official Dead by Daylight x Scooby-Doo collaboration title card revealed at the 10th Anniversary Broadcast

The Scooby-Doo Collection. BHVR's recap calls it "the long-awaited Scooby-Doo Collection, one of the community's most requested collaborations, arriving later this year." Warner Bros. Discovery's own Scoobtober 2026 press release (30 September) also points to a December crossover. Neither side has given a day, so treat December as likely rather than fixed.

Like Diablo and NieR:Automata, it is a Collection, meaning outfits only. Do not expect Scooby or the gang as playable Survivors with perks.

Bone Chill has been DBD's December winter event for several years, and BHVR's 2025 edition article went up on 9 December 2025. Nothing for 2026 has been announced yet, so this row is a pattern-based estimate.

Half-shipped anniversary collabs: the anniversary show also announced two Walking Dead Legendary outfits for Rick and two Silent Hill Legendaries. Glenn went live on 4 August 2026, and BHVR said on X that Negan is "coming next year", so 2027. On the Silent Hill side, Shimizu Hinako from SILENT HILL f (a Legendary for Cheryl Mason) went live on 30 June 2026. The Bubble Head Nurse Legendary for The Spirit has not shipped and has no day; coverage of the broadcast places it in 2027, which BHVR's recap does not state.

What is on the DBD roadmap for 2027?

2027 is where the big structural changes sit. Everything in this section comes from BHVR's own recap of the 10th Anniversary Broadcast.

1. A visual overhaul, targeted for 2027. BHVR described it as "the most significant initiative in the game's history". The list is long: "upgraded character models, more expressive facial animations, enhanced environments, dynamic weather, improved audio, voice lines for all original characters, and a deeper Entity presence." BHVR also confirmed this replaces a sequel: "Instead of starting over with a much-speculated sequel, the game will be doubling down on evolving its current foundation."

The question players keep raising is whether the overhaul will cut off old consoles and weak PCs. One r/deadbydaylight thread this week put it bluntly: players expect "dbd will lose a lot of players from old consoles and weak pc." BHVR has not published new minimum specs or a platform list for the 2027 update, so any answer today is a guess. Watch for a spec sheet before you upgrade anything.

2. The Casting of Frank Stone Chapter, March 2027. This is the only 2027 Chapter with a published month (see the Killer section above).

3. The Mall, a new map for Year 11. BHVR: "this sprawling retail hub will seek to transform a familiar location into a liminal nightmare filled with strange shops, long empty hallways, and plenty of the places for Killers and Survivors to come face to face in unique ways." On our reading, Year 11 runs from the June 2026 anniversary to the June 2027 one, which would put The Mall before mid-2027. BHVR has given no exact date.

4. Curated modding. BHVR says players "will be handed a full suite of modding tools, along with the opportunity to create and share their own Maps, Modes and everything in between." There is no date, and no word yet on console support.

5. New modes. The anniversary crowd got "an early look at a new 1v1 Mode and a prototype Zombie Mode", with more modes "currently being explored". The word prototype matters here. Nothing is promised to ship.

6. The Dead by Daylight movie. It is not an in-game item, but it is on the roadmap. Producers Stephen Mulrooney and Jason Blum named Thordur Palsson (director of The Damned) as director. BHVR says the film includes the Macmillan Estate and Greenville, a mix of classic and newer Survivors, and "a Killer who feels like they were made for the big screen". There is no release year.

What already shipped from the 10th anniversary roadmap?

It helps to know how reliable BHVR's dates have been this year. Here is the scorecard for everything the June broadcast gave a date:

Announced on 14 June 2026PromisedShipped
Jason (The Slasher)16 June16 June, Patch 10.0.0
Shane Wiigwaas, The Life Road25 June25 June
The Black Banquet anniversary eventFrom 25 June25 June
Shimizu Hinako (SILENT HILL f) Legendary for Cheryl30 June30 June
Glenn Rhee Legendary for RickAugust4 August
Sunflesh Collection"One of the next Rifts"Sunflesh Rift, 21 July
Chorus of Sin (The Judgment, Aurora)25 August25 August, Patch 10.1.0
Diablo CollectionOctober20 October

That is eight for eight on dated items. Chorus of Sin also got an Early Access build on 30 July, ahead of its 4 August PTB, and for the first time BHVR opened that creator build to a pool of players drawn through Twitch Drops. When BHVR prints a date it has held this year, which makes the undated items, Terrifier's exact day included, the real unknowns.

Other 2026 changes that arrived outside the anniversary slate: Patch 10.2.0 on 6 October, which brought the Survivor Intent System (the in-match chat wheel) and a perk overhaul (57 perks changed at launch, 27 Killer and 30 Survivor), NieR:Automata outfits for Feng Min, Yui Kimura and The Legion on 6 October, and the 2v8 Alien run from 8 to 29 September. Our 2v8 page tracks when that mode might return. No 2v8 date is on the roadmap right now.

What is NOT on the DBD roadmap?

Search interest runs ahead of the facts on a few topics. As of 22 October 2026, BHVR has not announced:

  • A Terrifier release day or PTB date. It has given only "November 2026".
  • A 2v8 return. No iteration is scheduled.
  • A return for the HALLOWEEN Chapter. The Shape and Laurie were retracted on 19 January 2026 and Haddonfield left the map pool.
  • A Survivor for Terrifier or names for the Frank Stone Chapter. Neither has been revealed.
  • A Blood Hunt (double Bloodpoints) for Halloween. Seasonal events do not come with a multiplier by default. Only a named, announced Blood Hunt counts.
  • A re-enable date for the Grim Pantry map. BHVR disabled it on 16 October and said it would come back "within a future patch".

How do I keep up with the DBD roadmap?

BHVR spreads its roadmap across four places, and each one does a different job:

  • The monthly roadmap image on the official Dead by Daylight social accounts, usually posted at the start of the month. It is the fastest way to see what is coming in the next four to six weeks.
  • Broadcasts. The 10th Anniversary show (June) and October of Horror (1 October) carried the big reveals. BHVR also promised a livestream dedicated to the 2027 plans "in the very near future".
  • Patch notes on the BHVR forum knowledge base and Steam. This is where hard dates like Lights Out's first show up.
  • deadbydaylight.com news for Chapter and Collection launch articles.

Codes often drop around these same moments, especially broadcasts and collabs, so it is worth checking our active DBD codes list when a big beat lands.

FAQ

What is the DBD roadmap for November 2026? Two things are on it. Lights Out: Stranger Things Edition runs 5 to 12 November, a date confirmed in BHVR's 10.2.2 patch notes. The licensed Terrifier Chapter with Art the Clown is dated "November 2026" by BHVR, with no day yet. Haunted by Daylight ends on 3 November.

When is the next DBD killer coming out? The next Killer is Art the Clown from Terrifier, due in November 2026. BHVR has not published an exact release day or PTB date. The 27 October PTB and 17 November release dates in circulation come from leak accounts, not from Behaviour.

What is the next DBD chapter after Terrifier? The Casting of Frank Stone, which BHVR has dated to March 2027. Its Killer and Survivor have not been revealed first-party.

Is Dead by Daylight getting a graphics update? Yes. BHVR announced a major visual overhaul targeted for 2027, with upgraded character models, facial animations, environments, dynamic weather, improved audio and voice lines for all original characters. It replaces the idea of a sequel. No new hardware requirements have been published yet.

Is Scooby-Doo coming to DBD? Yes, as a Collection of outfits rather than a Chapter. BHVR says it is arriving later this year, and Warner Bros. Discovery's Scoobtober 2026 release points to December. No exact date has been published.

Is 2v8 on the DBD roadmap? Not right now. The last run, with the Xenomorph, ended on 29 September 2026, and no future iteration has been announced on BHVR's site, forum or Steam page.

Last checked against BHVR's 10th Anniversary recap, the October of Horror schedule and the Patch 10.2.2 notes (KB 562) on 22 October 2026. Dates marked as estimates are not first-party and can change. This page is updated in place as BHVR publishes new roadmap information.
