Diablo 4 War Plans Reputation Season 15: All Tiers, Rewards & Fastest Path

TL;DR — What's the fastest way to earn Diablo 4 War Plans reputation in Season 15?

Finish active War Plan objectives for the activity tree you're leveling, then fit in Whispers along the same route. There are 7 activity trees with 7 levels each. The separate Prime Evil reputation tracks have 24 ranks, awarding 8 activity modifiers and 6 Iconic Power upgrades per Splinter. Chasing seasonal reputation? Bear the matching Prime Evil Splinter and pair its associated activities with Waking Nightmares. War Plans progression, seasonal ranks, Blizzard's Hell's Legacy overview.

First, find the right bar.

That's the annoying part. Finishing a War Plan, gaining an activity-tree level, and earning a Prime Evil reputation rank are different things. An evening of boss kills can be productive without getting you any closer to the seasonal modifier you wanted.

Below, you'll find those systems separated, every seasonal reward tier, and a farming route you can adjust to your build. Facts checked September 21, 2026, for Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy.

Which War Plans reputation bar are you leveling?

Read the label beside the counter before you start grinding.

Prime Evil reputation24 ranks per SplinterCaches, Iconic Power upgrades, seasonal activity modifiers

The base-system limits come from Maxroll's War Plans reference; the seasonal rank structure comes from the current Prime Evil data.

Points stay in their own trees. Leveling Lair Bosses won't buy you a Helltide point. The seven trees are Helltide, Infernal Hordes, Nightmare Dungeons, the Pit, the Undercity, Lair Bosses, and Whispers.

Whispers are the odd one out: they don't take up a selectable playlist node, but they can overlap other objectives while advancing their own activity progression. Check them before settling on a route. Blizzard's War Plans explanation.

How do you unlock War Plans and Prime Evil reputation?

Finish the Lord of Hatred campaign, then head to the command table in Temis to unlock War Plans. Pick a connected sequence of activities and complete its objectives. Your finished plan's rewards come from the War Chest in Temis. Official unlock instructions.

Seasonal reputation begins in the Hell's Legacy questline. You'll confront the Prime Evils and choose whose Splinter of Evil to bear, setting your seasonal power and reputation track. The largest Waking Nightmares give you the means to change that choice later. Our Deckard Cain questline guide covers the story progression. Blizzard's seasonal panel recap.

You can bear one Prime Evil Splinter at a time.

Don't mix that up with Soul Splinter gems for jewelry. Those allow up to three equipped and belong to a different seasonal system. Blizzard's Splinter rules.

What are all 24 reputation tiers and rewards?

Terror, Destruction, and Hatred use the same reward schedule. Your Splinter determines the specific power upgrade and affected activity. Requirements and cache names come from ProGameTalk's current reputation table.

Read these as individual-rank requirements, not a cumulative total. An in-game reputation screenshot shows a character at rank IV with 399/950 toward rank V. That supports the per-rank reading. Budgeting 20,000 for the whole grind would leave you well short.

Iconic Power upgrades unlock at ranks 2, 6, 10, 16, 21, and 24. Rank 6 adds resource generation to each power; rank 24 improves its trigger frequency after kills. Either can make a useful stopping point if you're weighing more reputation farming against getting back to gearing. Power upgrade data.

Claim rewards as you go. An intermediate unlock can help in your next session. The final cache isn't the only prize worth collecting.

Which Splinter unlocks the War Plans rewards you want?

Terror supports Helltide and Infernal Hordes. Destruction supports the Undercity and Lair Bosses. Hatred supports Nightmare Dungeons and the Pit, and all three modify Whispers. Blizzard's activity assignments.

The table below shows when each seasonal activity modifier unlocks. These are Splinter reputation ranks, not activity-tree levels. Season 15 modifier data.

Read the named node's seasonal tooltip, too. The track tells you which activity gets a modifier; the node tells you what changes. Picking a target from its reward icon alone can end in a disappointing unlock.

Terror: a clear target for Helltide and Hordes players

Already spending most of your evening in Helltide and Hordes? Start here. At rank 20, Council Coffers reduces the Chest of Talismans to 1 Aether. For a Hordes-focused player, that's a concrete reason to push further down the track.

Destruction: work toward boss loot

Exotic Armory, unlocked at rank 20, adds 3 Unique items for any class to Hoard Chests. It's a useful target for repeated boss sessions.

Just don't read it as a promise of the particular Unique you're hunting.

Hatred: plan around glyph upgrades

At rank 20, Choron's Blessing calculates glyph upgrade success chance as though you completed the Pit 10 tiers higher. You get the improved upgrade calculation. You haven't actually cleared a higher Pit tier. Rank-20 modifier effects.

What's the fastest practical path through the reputation grind?

1. Choose your next useful unlock

Before opening the board, pick something specific: another Helltide activity point, a seasonal boss modifier, or the next Iconic Power upgrade. Check which counter controls it.

This saves the most time. Excellent loot doesn't make a route useful for the reputation you're missing, so keep that next unlock in sight. Trying to finish every tree at once pulls you away from it.

2. Put the target activity into an active War Plan

For ordinary activity-tree progress, finish the relevant objectives through an active War Plan. Whispers are the exception. Activity experience scales with difficulty as well, so check the displayed award before choosing your route. Activity experience rules.

Want quick overall plan turnover? Start with Lair Bosses and short Undercity routes your build can comfortably handle. Kay's September 20 War Plans analysis points to their quick completions and calls out long Hordes runs for slowing turnover. Current routing analysis.

A specific tree changes the priority: reach its nodes. A quick Lair Boss kill won't fill your Nightmare Dungeon tree. Hordes still belongs in the plan when Hordes reputation is what you're after.

Look past the opening reward. An appealing first node can lead to a slow encounter that changes the value of the whole chain. Pick a connected route you can finish, complete it, and collect the War Chest.

Have an easy fallback ready for awkward boards. Dragging yourself through several miserable encounters to reach one ideal node rarely makes for a good evening.

3. Stack Whispers onto the route

Check active Whispers before committing to a plan. Blizzard lets them overlap your chosen activities, so you can pursue another progression objective in the same session. Official Whisper integration.

Be picky about detours.

An objective beside enemies you're already killing is useful. A long ride across the map has to earn its place. Don't forget town time, either: sort the drops you're keeping, clear your bags, and get back to the next objective.

4. Use Waking Nightmares for focused seasonal progress

Check your active Splinter before farming Prime Evil reputation. Pair its associated activities with Waking Nightmares and their remnants. The reputation interface explicitly lists entering Waking Nightmares and slaying remnants as earning methods. In-game earning instructions.

Compare nearby single-room encounters with familiar dungeon-sized Nightmares. Both formats exist, alongside the larger replayable Capstone encounters, according to Blizzard. Waking Nightmare formats.

For Terror, center the session on Helltide or Hordes. Destruction points you toward the Undercity or bosses; Hatred toward Nightmare Dungeons or the Pit. That's a routing recommendation based on the activity assignments above. Pick whichever also helps with your current gearing problem.

5. Compare reputation per minute, including downtime

Record the relevant bar before and after a full run. Divide the reputation gained by the time spent, counting travel, deaths, loading, and inventory stops. Then compare the result with a comfortable lower difficulty before committing to the harder farm.

Keep character XP separate.

Blizzard's 3.2.1 notes say: “Experience rewards from War Plans have been increased, and they scale heavily with Torment levels.” Baseline completion rewards at Torment X and above increased from 2 to 4 Experience Orbs. That's a change to XP rewards. It doesn't establish that reputation gains doubled. Blizzard's 3.2.1 patch notes.

One spectacular clear followed by repeated failures loses out to a dependable farm. Move up when your measured reputation rate improves, rather than simply because the next difficulty is available.

Retest after a meaningful gear upgrade. Yesterday's slog may be comfortable now. Don't let an old clear time dictate the rest of your season.

Is War Plans reputation shared across alts in Season 15?

Yes, within matching character groups. Characters must match on Seasonal versus Eternal, Hardcore versus non-Hardcore, and normal versus Solo Self-Found. Their War Plans progression is shared, but each keeps its own planner and point allocation. Blizzard's shared-progress rules.

Put your established character to work. If it handles an awkward activity comfortably, earn the shared progress there and allocate your alt's tree to suit its needs. There's no reason to drag an undergeared character through that grind just to recreate your main's progress.

Season 14 progress transferred to matching Eternal characters at rollover. Fresh Season 15 seasonal characters didn't receive that reputation head start. Blizzard's rollover explanation.

Next session, choose a reward you'll use, follow its track, and reassess when it unlocks. Filling the wrong bar quickly gets you nowhere.
