You can make EA SPORTS FC 27 coins without playing a single Ultimate Team match by trading on the Transfer Market. You can do that from the in-game market on console or PC, but this guide focuses on the Web App and Companion App, where you can trade from a phone or browser once your account has market access there. It ranks the six methods that work best from the apps, shows the tax math that decides whether a flip makes money, and maps them onto this week: the last days of Season 1: Ones to Watch before Season 2 starts Thursday 22 October 2026.
Current phase: FC 27 is live worldwide (released 25 September 2026), Season 1 ends 22 October, Season 2 runs 22 October to 3 December 2026 according to EA's Launch Rewards article.
TL;DR — quick answer: In our judgment, the best way to make FC 27 coins without playing is bid-flipping on the Web App, then buying gold fodder after the Thursday 06:59 UTC Rivals reward drop and selling it into SBC demand. Every sale loses 5% to tax, so a flip has to clear +5.27% just to break even. App market access needs active days (three full Ultimate Team matches plus an app login in the same UTC day) unless you are an eligible returning player. After 7 November 2026, 23:59:50 UTC, you must log in to FC 27 Ultimate Team on console or PC at least once to keep using both apps.

Can you really make FC 27 coins without playing?
Mostly yes. There is one catch, and it trips up most new players.
The Transfer Market on the Web and Companion Apps is gated separately from the in-game market. EA says it plainly on its Graduated Access page: "Completing Graduated Access doesn't automatically unlock access on the Web and Companion apps" (EA Help).
What unlocks the apps is active days. EA's definition, verbatim from the Web and Companion Apps access page:
"An active day is when you've played three full matches in Ultimate Team™ and logged in to the Web or Companion App within a calendar day, following UTC timezones, per Ultimate Team™ account." (EA Help)
So the honest version of "without playing" looks like this:
| Your situation | What it takes to trade from the app |
|---|---|
| Returning player with access in FC 26 before 1 Aug 2026, FC 25 before 1 Aug 2025 or FC 24 before 1 Aug 2024, account in good standing | Nothing. Access from day one (EA Help) |
| New account, no other UT accounts on the device | Normally 2 active days = 6 full matches over 2 UTC days |
| New account, other UT accounts used on the same device | At least 4 active days (EA Help) |
| Playing more matches per day | Does nothing. EA: "Playing more than three matches per day won't increase your chances" |
After that, every method below runs from a phone or browser. Two rules keep it working:
- One session at a time. EA's own beginner guide tells you to "quit out of Ultimate Team before exiting FC 27, then log onto the Companion App" (EA, FUT for Beginners). If the app shows you logged in elsewhere, back out of Ultimate Team on your console first. Our Web App errors guide covers the rest.
- The 7 November login. EA Help states that after 7 November 2026, 11:59:50 PM UTC, "you need to log in to Ultimate Team™ in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 on your PC or console at least once to continue using both apps" (EA Help). One login is enough. Do it before then.
How much does the 5% tax really cost you?
The FC Transfer Market keeps 5% of every sale. You receive 95%. EA has not published a dedicated FC 27 tax page; the 5% is the series-standard rate used by community tax calculators such as FIFAUTeam's.
That one number decides which methods work:
- Break-even sale price = buy price ÷ 0.95. A 10,000-coin buy has to sell for roughly 10,527 in theory before you have made a single coin. Listing prices move in fixed steps (250 coins between 10,000 and 50,000, per community tax calculators; EA publishes no step table), so in practice the lowest profitable listing is 10,750.
- A 10% markup only keeps 4.5%. Buy at 10,000, sell at 11,000, receive 10,450. Your profit is 450, not 1,000.
- A 15% markup keeps 9.25%. Same 10,000 buy, sell at 11,500, receive 10,925.
Put another way, the tax takes 550 of the 1,000-coin markup on a 10% flip, more than half. Our practical rule: do not touch a flip with less than about a 10% gap between your buy and the realistic sale price. Under that, the tax plus the cards that never sell will eat you.
What are the 6 best ways to make FC 27 coins without playing?
This ranking is our editorial judgment of coins per hour of app time for a player with a starting stack of 50,000–200,000 coins. It is not a measured benchmark, and returns depend on prices on the day you trade.
1. Bid-flipping on the Web App
Best for: players who can spend 20–40 minutes at a desk.
Pick a card band you understand (non-meta gold 84s–86s, or a specific league's popular base golds), check what it actually sells for on completed sales, then place bids at least 10–15% under that figure. Win a handful, relist at the market price. The browser Web App is faster for this than the phone app because search filters and bid lists are easier to work through.
Why it ranks first: it works every day, it does not depend on EA dropping content, and it scales with your stack. Why it is not free money: the 5% tax and the cards that never sell at your price. Anything automated (autobuyers, bots) breaks EA's rules and is how accounts end up with the second of EA's two block messages, "Your account has been blocked from using the Transfer Market due to breaking our rules" (EA Help). Trade by hand, at a human pace.
2. The Thursday fodder rotation
Best for: players who can check the app twice a week.
EA publishes the Rivals reward time: "Rewards are released on Thursdays at 06:59 AM UTC" (EA Help, Division Rivals). Many Rivals players open their packs within hours of the drop, and in FC 27 those packs can reach the market: EA's Launch Update Pitch Notes say "We're also increasing the amount of FUT Coins available through Rivals, and all Pack rewards will be tradeable at launch" (EA, Launch Update). Gold fodder supply usually spikes on Thursday morning.
The rotation below follows the usual weekly pattern players observe; it is not an EA schedule, and some weeks a big SBC or promo breaks it:
- Thursday after 06:59 UTC: buy the 83–86 rated golds that SBCs keep asking for, while the market is full of them.
- Friday to Sunday: sell into weekend SBC demand, when new challenges pull fodder out of circulation.
- Avoid holding fodder through a quiet Monday-Tuesday unless you expect a specific SBC; prices on the day decide.
This is the same weekly cycle we mapped in our FC 27 market cycle guide, done entirely from the app. EA's own numbers explain why it holds up this year: "Coin balances are more than 50% higher than at the same point last year and we're seeing plenty of Transfer Market activity" (EA, FUT Developer Launch Update, 1 October 2026). More coins in circulation means more buyers for fodder when an SBC lands.
3. Sell, don't quick sell
Best for: everyone. This is the method most players skip.
Every tradeable card you quick sell for a few hundred coins is a card you could list. From the app, list your tradeable duplicates and unwanted golds at just above the cheapest live listing instead of discarding them. On cards worth 1,000+ coins, listing beats quick selling even after the 5% tax.
If you quick sell the wrong card, EA's Quick Sell Recovery works from the Web and Companion Apps too: 7 days per discarded item, 5 recoveries per rolling 31 days, and you repay the coins the quick sell paid you, not the card's market price (EA Help; more in our Quick Sell Recovery guide). Untradeable items cannot be listed at all, so for those, an SBC (method 6) is usually the better exit.
4. Claim rewards on the Companion App and list the tradeables
Best for: players who already played their matches on console. This method converts rewards you earned by playing; it does not create new ones.
You do not have to open rewards on your console. Rivals rewards can be claimed "in-game or on the Ultimate Team™ Web and the Companion Apps" (EA Help), and EA's beginner guide recommends claiming Objectives through the Companion App's FC Hub.
The coin angle: claim Thursday's rewards from your phone right after 06:59 UTC and list any tradeable contents before most of the market opens theirs. Listing early, before prices settle, often gets a better price than listing later in the day. Watch for one extra drop this week: the final FC 26 carry-over rewards land on 23 October 2026, including a tradeable 1-of-3 82+ Player Pick plus 10,000 coins, but only for players who completed the FC 26 Preseason Final Whistle Tournament Objective (EA Launch Rewards). Check your Unassigned pile that day.
5. Season 2 positioning (this week only)
Best for: players with 100,000+ coins and patience.
A season reset is the biggest content change of the month. On 22 October, Season 1 objectives and the Season 1 Champions store shelf close, and Season 2 content starts arriving. New Evolutions create demand for cards that fit their requirements; new SBCs create demand for specific ratings and leagues. Traders on r/fut are already waiting for exactly this: in a 19 October thread one reply told a new trader the moment to move is this week, once the new SBCs and Evolutions leak.
What we would do (our recommendation, not a guarantee):
- Sell before Wednesday evening anything tied to Season 1 that loses value at the reset (last week's TOTW, Season 1 promo cards you are not using).
- Hold 50–70% of your stack in coins, not cards, going into Thursday. Nobody outside EA knows the Season 2 Evolution requirements yet.
- React on Thursday and Friday, when leaks and the actual content tell you which cards are in demand.
EA has not announced a Season 2 FUT promo. Last year, FC 26's Ultimate Scream launched on a Friday in late October, and community trackers expect FC 27 to follow the Friday promo slot, but that is a pattern, not an EA date. More in our Season 2 start guide.
6. Streamlined SBCs on the Companion App
Best for: turning untradeables into something useful. Strictly, this is club value, not spendable coins, unless the reward is coins or tradeable.
EA brought Streamlined SBCs to the Companion App on 28 September 2026, "making it easier to complete and manage SBCs when you're away from your console or PC" (FUT Developer Launch Update). That makes the app a full club-management tool.
It only counts as a coin method when the reward is coins or a tradeable item worth more than what you could sell the fodder for. Untradeable rewards improve your club but never become spendable coins. EA's beginner guide warns that "putting a Player Item in an SBC is just like selling it" — once submitted, the card is gone, and EA Help confirms SBC-submitted items cannot be restored. Use SBCs to convert untradeable fodder, which has no market value anyway. Do not feed them tradeable cards you could list for more. If you have half-finished SBCs, check the Partial Completion tiers before an expiry date passes.
Which method fits your budget and time?
| Method | Starting coins | App time per week | Risk | Typical result |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bid-flipping | 50,000+ | 2–4 hours | Medium (tax, unsold cards) | Steady, scales with stack |
| Thursday fodder rotation | 100,000+ | 30–60 minutes | Medium (SBC demand varies) | Best return per minute |
| Sell, don't quick sell | Any | 10 minutes | Low | Small, but free |
| Claim and list early | Any | 10 minutes per Thursday | Low | Small to medium |
| Season 2 positioning | 100,000+ | 1 hour this week | High (unknown content) | One-off, can be large |
| Streamlined SBCs | Any (untradeables) | 15 minutes | Low | Packs, not coins |
The whole table is our editorial assessment, not an EA figure. Market returns depend on prices on the day you trade.

What should you never do to get FC 27 coins?
- Coin generators. They do not exist. Any site asking for your EA login to "generate" coins is a phishing page.
- Autobuyers and bots. They break EA's rules and are the fastest route to a Transfer Market block on the apps. EA notes that a Web/Companion block still leaves the in-game market usable, but a full block does not, and "Our advisors can't grant access to the FC Transfer Market" (EA Help).
- Running several accounts on one device to speed things up. EA says the more Ultimate Team accounts used on a device, the longer each takes to earn app access.
If you would rather skip the grind entirely, buying coins is the other option. Be clear-eyed about it: EA's User Agreement prohibits buying or selling coins for real money, so there is always some account risk whichever service you use.

How does this fit with the rest of your FC 27 coin plan?
App trading is one of several income streams. If you are still locked out of the market, start with how to unlock the FC 27 Transfer Market. If you do play matches, our coins per hour by mode breakdown shows which modes pay best, and the launch-week trading methods and EA's 50% coin balance note explain how this year's economy got here. One more number from EA's update: more than 350,000 players have linked their EA Account with authorized partner sites like FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ (EA, FUT Developer Launch Update). Many traders use those sites to check prices before bidding; always cross-check against the live market in the app.
FAQ
Can you make coins in FC 27 without playing at all? Yes, by trading on the Transfer Market, either in-game or through the Web App and Companion App. For the apps you need app market access first. Eligible returning players have it from launch; new accounts normally need 2 active days (three full Ultimate Team matches plus an app login in the same UTC day), or at least 4 if other Ultimate Team accounts were used on the device.
What is the best way to make coins on the FC 27 Web App? In our view, bid-flipping cards you know, bidding 10–15% under their real sale price, plus buying gold fodder after the Thursday 06:59 UTC Rivals reward drop and selling it into weekend SBC demand.
How much tax does the FC 27 Transfer Market take? 5% of the sale price, so you receive 95%. To break even, sell for at least your buy price divided by 0.95. EA has not published an FC 27-specific tax page; 5% is the series-standard rate.
Why can't I use the Transfer Market on the FC 27 Companion App? Graduated Access unlocks the in-game market but not the apps. App access needs active days. If you see a message saying your account has been blocked from the Transfer Market on the Web and Companion Apps, you can still use the in-game market; the route back is the appeal in EA's email.
Do I have to log in on console to keep using the FC 27 Web App? Yes. After 7 November 2026, 11:59:50 PM UTC, EA requires at least one Ultimate Team login in FC 27 on PC or console to keep using the Web and Companion Apps.
Is it a good week to trade before Season 2? It is a volatile one. Season 2 starts Thursday 22 October and the Rivals reward drop lands the same morning. Sell Season 1 cards you are not using before Wednesday evening, hold most of your stack in coins, and buy once the new SBCs and Evolutions show what is in demand.
