Every page telling you when Genshin Impact Version 7.0 ends prints the same handful of numbers straight off the in-game notices: 21 September 03:59, 22 September 14:59, 23 September 06:00. Those numbers are not wrong. They are also not your deadline.
HoYoverse tags its own timestamps in two different ways, and the two behave completely differently. Event durations are stamped server time — the same printed number lands at three different real-world moments on the Asia, Europe and America servers. Update maintenance is stamped as a single global instant that hits all three at once. Put those together and the safety margin between the last wish and the version rollover is 15 hours on Asia, 8 hours on Europe and 2 hours on America. Same game, same patch, same notice.
Quick answer: Version 7.0 ends when update maintenance begins at 06:00 on 23 September 2026, which is one global moment — 22:00 UTC on 22 September, or 23:00 on the Europe server clock and 17:00 on the America server clock that same day. Everything before it is printed in your server's time. The last wave of event deadlines reads 2026/09/22 14:59 server time, which closes all three Event Wishes, the Archon Quest timed rewards and a 400-Primogem exploration reward. On Asia that is 15 hours before maintenance. On America it is 2 hours. Two deadlines have already passed on Asia while you read this: the Battle Pass and Miliastra Pass purchase windows shut at 02:59 on 21 September server time.
Article status: written 20 September 2026, 19:02 UTC. Every deadline below was read live today from Genshin Impact's in-game announcement feed (hk4e_global), queried separately against the Asia, Europe and America endpoints and cross-checked against the notice bodies — the same notices HoYoverse mirrors on the official Genshin Impact news page and in the official HoYoLAB channel. No leak, datamine or third-party tracker is used anywhere on this page. HoYoverse has not published a Version 7.1 maintenance preview notice yet, so the 06:00 figure is the version notices' own expiry, not a maintenance announcement.
When does Genshin 7.0 actually end?
The three version-level 7.0 notices — announcements 21857, 21862 and 21866 — all carry an expiry of 2026-09-23 06:00:00. That is the moment 7.0 stops being the live version.
Here is the part nobody converts. We pulled the announcement list three times today, once against each regional endpoint, and every single notice came back with identical printed times on Asia, Europe and America. The feed is not doing the conversion for you. What decides what a printed number actually means is a tag inside the notice body, and HoYoverse uses two of them:
- t_lc — local. The printed number is your server's wall clock. Three servers, three different real instants.
- t_gl — global. One instant for everybody, no matter which server you play on.
- No tag at all. A minority of notices print the date as plain text with no tag on it — the Moon exploration reward and the Phantasmagoric Season phases are both like this. Those are the ones worth being conservative about: assume the earliest reading and finish them early.
Every event duration in the live 7.0 line-up is tagged t_lc. Maintenance is tagged t_gl, and so are a couple of long-running notices we come back to below. The Version 7.0 Update Details notice says it in one line, about the update that started this version: "Update maintenance begins 2026/08/12 06:00 and is estimated to take 5 hours." That timestamp carries the t_gl tag. Update maintenance is global.
HoYoverse writes it into its own event copy too: the Phantasmagoric Season notice ends its Showcase Phase not on a date but on the phrase "End of Version 7.0."
So the version boundary is a single worldwide moment — 22:00 UTC on 22 September 2026 — and everything you are racing to finish before it is measured on your own server's clock.
The standard server offsets have not changed: Asia runs UTC+8, Europe runs UTC+1 and America runs UTC-5, all three fixed year-round, so daylight saving in your own country moves nothing. If you are in the UK on the Europe server, maintenance lands at 23:00 on 22 September local time. US Eastern: 18:00. US Pacific: 15:00.
What is the full Genshin 7.0 deadline list?
Five waves, in the order they hit. The printed column is what the notice shows you in game; the three server columns are the same deadline expressed in UTC so you can compare them honestly.
| Printed deadline (server time) | What closes | Asia (UTC) | Europe (UTC) | America (UTC) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 21 Sep 02:59 | Battle Pass and Miliastra Pass purchase windows | 20 Sep 18:59 | 21 Sep 01:59 | 21 Sep 07:59 |
| 21 Sep 03:59 | Frostfarer Battle Pass, Overflowing Abundance double drops, Starlight Voyage, Wonderland Treasures Phantasmagoric Chronicle | 20 Sep 19:59 | 21 Sep 02:59 | 21 Sep 08:59 |
| 22 Sep 03:59 | Stygian Onslaught, Phantasmagoric Season Play Phase | 21 Sep 19:59 | 22 Sep 02:59 | 22 Sep 08:59 |
| 22 Sep 14:59 | All three Event Wishes, Archon Quest timed rewards, the 400-Primogem Moon exploration reward, Wonderland Treasures Event Ode | 22 Sep 06:59 | 22 Sep 13:59 | 22 Sep 19:59 |
| 23 Sep 05:59 | Raiment Collection: Gentle Warmth | 22 Sep 21:59 | 23 Sep 04:59, after maintenance | 23 Sep 10:59, after maintenance |
| Version 7.0 ends | Update maintenance begins (global) | 22 Sep 22:00 | 22 Sep 22:00 | 22 Sep 22:00 |
Two things in that table are worth stopping on.
The first wave is already gone on Asia. The Battle Pass purchase window shut at 18:59 UTC today, three minutes before this article's timestamp. HoYoverse states it plainly in the Frostfarer notice: "The purchasing of Gnostic Hymn, Gnostic Chorus, and Travel Notes for this Battle Pass will end on 2026/09/21 02:59." The Miliastra Pass carries the same cut-off and the notice confirms the two run together — "The Miliastra Pass and Battle Pass share the same start and end dates each period." If you are on Europe you have until 01:59 UTC tomorrow; on America, until 07:59 UTC tomorrow.
The last wave runs past the version on two servers. Raiment Collection: Gentle Warmth prints an end of 2026/09/23 05:59 in server time. On Asia that is 21:59 UTC on the 22nd — one minute before maintenance. On Europe that printed time falls roughly seven hours after the version has already ended, and on America nearly thirteen hours after. The printed number is not the real cap there; maintenance is.
How long do I really have to spend my wishes?
This is where the server split bites hardest, because the wish cut-off and the version boundary are tagged differently.
All three 7.0 Event Wishes — "The Lone Light Knocks at Night" (Flins), "Astral Actuation" (Ineffa) and the "Epitome Invocation" weapon banner carrying Bloodsoaked Ruins and Fractured Halo — print the same duration ending 2026/09/22 14:59, server time. Maintenance is global. Subtract:
| Server | Wish cut-off (UTC) | Maintenance (UTC) | Cushion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Asia | 22 Sep 06:59 | 22 Sep 22:00 | 15 hours 1 minute |
| Europe | 22 Sep 13:59 | 22 Sep 22:00 | 8 hours 1 minute |
| America | 22 Sep 19:59 | 22 Sep 22:00 | 2 hours 1 minute |
If you play on America and your plan was "I'll sort my pity out on update day," you have a two-hour window on the 22nd, 19:59 to 22:00 UTC — late afternoon US Eastern, mid-afternoon US Pacific — and then the banners are gone. That window is not a rumour or an estimate; it is arithmetic on two HoYoverse timestamps that are tagged differently on purpose.
And spending there is not free. Both live character banners repeat the same clause: "The wish guarantee count for 'Character Event Wish' and 'Character Event Wish-2' is shared, and is accumulated between both." A 5-star pulled on Flins or Ineffa resets the same counter you would be carrying into the next version. If you want either of them, go now. If you want what comes next, do not touch it — our breakdown of what is confirmed and what is not sits in the Genshin 7.1 banners guide, and the update timing itself is covered in the Genshin 7.1 release date page.
Which Primogems am I about to lose?
Three timed rewards expire in the 22 September 14:59 wave, and one lookalike does not.
- "When We Look Up at the Moon" pays "an additional reward of Primogems ×400" for completing the exploration missions in its listed areas — Dunanna Pit, Lunar Highlands, Moontide Sea and the Dark Side of the Moon — within the specified duration. Its notice prints that duration as 2026/09/22 14:59 with no time tag on it, so do not assume you get the America server's extra hours here — treat 06:59 UTC on 22 September, the Asia reading, as your real cut-off.
- The Archon Quest "Everwinter Without Mercy" pays Primogems, Character Ascension Materials, Character Level-Up Materials and Snezhnaya regional specialties for completing it inside the same window. The quest itself becomes permanent afterwards; the bonus does not. Unlock needs Adventure Rank 18 and the Prologue Act III quest "Song of the Dragon and Freedom."
- Wonderland Treasures pays Primogems ×60 for playing popular Miliastra Wonderland stages with new Sets or Try-On Capes equipped, and its Event Ode closes in the same wave.
The lookalike is "The Godforsaken Frostlands," which also pays an additional Primogems ×400 for exploration missions and reads almost identically. Its notice opens it after the Version 7.0 update too, but its specified duration runs to 2026/11/03 14:59 — six weeks past the version boundary. It is not going anywhere. Do not burn the last 48 hours on it while the Moon reward expires.
Two more long-runners are safe: "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" runs to 2026/11/02 03:59, and "The Hunt Begins!" — the Alyosha invitation — is permanent after the 7.0 update, with its event page open for the duration of Version 7.x.
Why do two deadlines printed "23 September 05:59" not mean the same thing?
Because of the tag, and this is the cleanest proof that the server split is real rather than a fan theory.
Two notices in today's feed print exactly the same deadline string, 2026/09/23 05:59. Raiment Collection: Gentle Warmth carries it with the t_lc tag — server time, so three different real moments. The long-running "Uncover Lunar Realms, Hone the Eventide Radiance" new-player event carries it with the t_gl tag — one global moment, 21:59 UTC on 22 September, exactly one minute before maintenance, for every player on every server.
Identical characters on the page, completely different deadlines. Any guide that copies the numbers without reading the tags is publishing one of them wrong. Another global one in the current feed is the Version Satisfaction Survey, tagged t_gl to 2026/09/21 23:59, which is 15:59 UTC on 21 September worldwide.
What should I do in the last 48 hours?
Ordered by how permanently you lose it.
- Buy the Battle Pass or Miliastra Pass, if you were going to. Gone on Asia already; 01:59 UTC on 21 September for Europe, 07:59 UTC for America. Levelling the BP afterwards is fine — only the purchase window closes early.
- Farm the double drops. Overflowing Abundance doubles Talent Level-Up and Weapon Ascension Material drops and dies in the same wave as the BP. Spend condensed resin now, sort out who to level later.
- Finish the Archon Quest and the Moon exploration missions. These are the Primogems with a hard timer. Start with whichever you have less of left.
- Clear Stygian Onslaught. It ends 22 September 03:59 server time, a full 11 hours before the wish cut-off, so it is easy to misplace in your plan. Difficulty and reward detail is in our Stygian Onslaught guide.
- Decide on wishes. Then check the rest of the 7.0 calendar against your account in our 7.1 events calendar — and grab whatever is live on the September 2026 Genshin codes page first, because free Primogems are free wishes.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does Genshin 7.0 end? When update maintenance begins at 06:00 on 23 September 2026. That is one global instant — 22:00 UTC on 22 September — so it lands at 23:00 on 22 September for the Europe server and 17:00 on 22 September for the America server. The three version-level 7.0 notices in the live announcement feed carry exactly that expiry. HoYoverse has not published a 7.1 maintenance preview notice yet, so treat the duration of the downtime as unknown; the 7.0 update notice put its own maintenance at an estimated five hours.
Are Genshin event end times in server time or my local time? Server time, for every event duration in the current feed. HoYoverse tags those timestamps t_lc, meaning the printed number is read on your server's clock — Asia UTC+8, Europe UTC+1, America UTC-5, all fixed and all ignoring daylight saving. Maintenance timestamps carry the t_gl tag instead and mean one global moment. We confirmed the split by querying the announcement feed against all three regional endpoints today and getting identical printed strings back from each.
When do the 7.0 banners end? All three Event Wishes print a duration ending 2026/09/22 14:59 server time. In UTC that is 06:59 on 22 September for Asia, 13:59 for Europe and 19:59 for America. The character banners share one guarantee count, so a 5-star pulled there resets the counter you carry into the next version.
How long between the last wish and the update? 15 hours and 1 minute on Asia, 8 hours and 1 minute on Europe, and 2 hours and 1 minute on America, by our arithmetic on the two published timestamps. It is not a single number, and the America figure is the one worth setting an alarm for.
Does the Battle Pass end at the same time as the version? No, and this catches people every patch. The Frostfarer Battle Pass itself runs to 2026/09/21 03:59 server time, but the purchase window for Gnostic Hymn, Gnostic Chorus and Travel Notes shuts an hour earlier at 02:59 — nearly two full days before the version boundary. The Miliastra Pass shares those dates.
Is there anything I do not need to rush? Yes. "The Godforsaken Frostlands" exploration reward of Primogems ×400 runs to 2026/11/03 14:59, "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" runs to 2026/11/02 03:59, and "The Hunt Begins!" is permanent after the 7.0 update, with its event page open for the duration of Version 7.x. All three survive the rollover.
We re-read this feed live before every version boundary, so this page gets rechecked if HoYoverse publishes a 7.1 maintenance preview with a different time. The rest of our coverage sits in the Genshin Impact guides hub.
