Genshin Mizuki Build: Best Artifacts, Weapons, Teams and the Witch's Revelation Upgrade (Version 7.1)

Yumemizuki Mizuki's entire build is one stat. Every meaningful number on her kit — Elemental Skill buff, Burst heal, Witch's Revelation passive, sixth Constellation — is written as a multiple of her Elemental Mastery. Build her like a normal Anemo support and you leave roughly half her output on the floor.

This guide is for Version 7.1, with Phase 1 wishes and the Epitome Invocation weapon banner all ending 13 October 2026 at 17:59 server time, and the Spiral Abyss cycle running 16 September to 16 October 2026.

Quick answer: stack Elemental Mastery and nothing else — Elemental Mastery Sands, Goblet and Circlet, Elemental Mastery substats, no Attack or Crit unless you own C6. Run 4-piece Viridescent Venerer by default. Her signature catalyst, Sunny Morning Sleep-In, carries Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat and stacks up to 248 more at R1. Unlock her Witch's Revelation passive and she stops being a buffer and becomes a damage source. And she is currently obtainable for free: she is one of the eight characters in Version 7.1's free 5-star selector, which runs to 11/03 server time.

Who is Yumemizuki Mizuki and what does she actually do?

Mizuki is a 5-star Anemo Catalyst user from Inazuma, a shareholder in the Aisa Bathhouse and a yumekui-baku — a dream-eater — released 12 February 2025 in Version 5.4. At Level 90 she sits at 12,735.75 HP and 215.26 Attack, with an ascension stat of Elemental Mastery, +115.2 at the sixth star.

Her Elemental Skill, Aisa Utamakura Pilgrimage, puts her into Dreamdrifter for a base 5 seconds on a 15-second cooldown. She floats forward, deals periodic area Anemo damage, gains a little Interruption Resistance, keeps her altitude off ledges, and cannot Normal, Charged or Plunge attack. The important line is the buff:

"Increases the Swirl DMG and Stellar Swirl DMG that nearby party members deal based on Yumemizuki Mizuki's Elemental Mastery."

That conversion scales from 0.18% per point of Elemental Mastery at talent Level 1 to 0.45% at Level 10, and 0.54% at Level 13 with her third Constellation. At 1,000 Elemental Mastery and a Level 10 skill, that is +450% Swirl damage and +450% Stellar Swirl damage for everyone near her. No Attack conversion exists anywhere in her kit to compete with it.

Her Burst, Anraku Secret Spring Therapy, costs 60 Energy, lasts 12 seconds and drops a Yumemi Style Special Snack every 1.5 seconds, eight per Burst. Collected above 70% HP it deals area Anemo damage; below 70% it heals for 235.01% of her Elemental Mastery plus 692 at talent Level 10, doubled if Mizuki collects it herself. Her healing is Elemental Mastery scaling too.

Two ascension passives finish the picture. Bright Moon's Restless Voice extends Dreamdrifter by 2.5 seconds when she triggers a Swirl or Stellar Swirl, twice per state — 5 seconds becomes 10. Thoughts by Day Bring Dreams by Night gives her +100 Elemental Mastery for 4 seconds whenever another nearby party member hits an opponent with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo or Electro while she drifts.

What is the Witch's Revelation passive and does it change her build?

Yes, and more than anything else on this page.

Genshin Impact Witch's Revelation new reaction and talent announcement for version Luna VIII

Witch's Revelation arrived in the version branded Luna VIII. A Witch's Revelation Case, from the quest "Revelations by Chance", unlocks an extra Talent on an eligible character and upgrades some of that character's existing Talents and Constellations. You must own the character at Level 70 or higher. Mizuki's unlock quest is "Witch's Revelation: Instruction Beyond Dreams", under the Lunar Arcana The Moon (Reversed); the eligible roster is Wriothesley, Yae Miko, Cyno, Qiqi, Diona, Beidou and her. The Version 7.1 update notes record that the Adventurer Handbook now carries guidance for Witch's Revelation quests.

Her Revelation passive is called Vast Be the Dream, and it does three things:

  • A Swirl or Stellar Swirl she triggers in Dreamdrifter gives her next periodic area Anemo hit +1,000% of her Elemental Mastery, once every 2.5 seconds.
  • Under Radiance: Stellar Swirl, that hit fires a second Anemo instance at 1,000% of her Elemental Mastery, counted as Stellar Swirl reaction damage. She enters that state for 8 seconds whenever a nearby party member triggers a Stellar Swirl.
  • While drifting, nearby party characters gain Elemental Mastery equal to 10% of hers.

At a realistic 1,000 Elemental Mastery, the enhanced hit carries a flat +10,000 every 2.5 seconds, a second instance of the same magnitude lands as reaction damage in Radiance, and the party gets +100 Elemental Mastery free. A pre-Revelation Mizuki is a buffer you ignore on the damage screen; a post-Revelation Mizuki out-damages some sub-DPS slots. It does not change what you stack on her — it changes how badly you are punished for stacking anything else.

Best artifacts for Mizuki: Viridescent Venerer or Scarlet Proof?

Default: 4-piece Viridescent Venerer. Two pieces give +15% Anemo damage; four, verbatim: "Increases Swirl Reaction DMG dealt by 60%, and Stellar Swirl reaction DMG dealt by 20%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s. Upon triggering a Stellar Swirl in the opponent, will also decrease their Cryo RES by 40%."

That second half matters in 7.1: a Stellar Swirl team gets a 40% Cryo Resistance shred out of the same four pieces already shredding the swirled element, and it does not care about Mizuki's own damage at all.

4-piece Scarlet Proof is the alternative: 18% Attack for two, and for four, +16% Crit Rate and +40% Stellar Swirl reaction damage for 10 seconds after the equipping character triggers a Stellar Swirl. The Attack is dead weight on her; the 40% is not, but it needs her to set off the reaction, while the shred you give up is unconditional. Test it on a dummy; do not assume it.

The budget option is genuinely fine: two 2-piece Elemental Mastery bonuses. Instructor, Gilded Dreams, Wanderer's Troupe and Flower of Paradise Lost each give +80 Elemental Mastery for two pieces, so any two stack to +160 with no conditions. If your Viridescent Venerer pieces are badly rolled, +160 raw Elemental Mastery beats a 4-piece you cannot fill.

Main stats in order: Elemental Mastery Sands, Goblet and Circlet, then Elemental Mastery substats, then only enough Energy Recharge to keep a 60-cost Burst online. Skip Crit unless you own C6.

One community-derived ratio for sorting substats: an average Elemental Mastery roll is worth about 19.815 Elemental Mastery and an average Crit Rate roll about 3.305%, so roughly 6.00 Elemental Mastery equals 1% Crit Rate. That is how you tell whether a Crit-heavy piece is secretly worse than the Elemental Mastery piece you were about to bin.

Best weapons for Mizuki

Her signature catalyst, Sunny Morning Sleep-In, is a 5-star from the Weapon Event Wishes released on her debut date. It sits in the 44-base-Attack tier, its secondary stat is Elemental Mastery, and its passive, Bathhouses, Hawks, and Narukami, stacks in three pieces. At R1: +120 Elemental Mastery for 6 seconds after triggering a Swirl, +96 for 9 seconds after her Skill hits, +32 for 30 seconds after her Burst hits — 248 with everything live, rising to 240 / 192 / 64 at R5. Her rotation satisfies the Swirl and Skill conditions automatically, which is what lifts it above a generic stat stick.

Without it, take the catalyst with the highest Elemental Mastery contribution you own. Winter's Heavy Heart, a 4-star Weapon Event catalyst, grants Elemental Mastery per Cryo party member — a real consideration in a Cryo-heavy team. Skip Sacrificial Jade — its bonus needs the holder off-field, and Mizuki must be on field to drift — and Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers, whose only passive is an Attack buff on swap.

Which teams want Mizuki in Version 7.1?

Yumemizuki Mizuki in Genshin Impact during the Witch's Revelation Instruction Beyond Dreams quest

Any team whose damage is reaction damage, specifically Swirl or Stellar Swirl — and the live Spiral Abyss is paying for exactly that. In the cycle running 16 September to 16 October 2026, Floor 12's first half carries Swirl damage +200% and Stellar Swirl damage +75% under the Blessing of the Abyssal Moon "Cascading Moon"; the second half pays Electro-Charged +200% and Lunar-Charged +75%. Her skill buff and the Abyss buff multiply the same damage type. Our Spiral Abyss Floor 12 guide has the enemy lineup and Ley Line Disorders for that cycle.

One note from players running her this patch: do not treat the Cryo slot as a pure applicator, because Cryo Traveler does a meaningful chunk of these teams' damage and should be built for Crit rather than only Attack.

If the terminology is new, Stellar Swirl is one of the Stellar Glimmer reactions introduced in the 7.x line, and it behaves differently from its sibling — we broke the choice down in Stellar-Conduct vs Stellar Swirl, and the wider Moonsign and Lunar reaction framework is in Lunar Reactions explained.

Are Mizuki's constellations worth it?

Her Constellations are unusually front-loaded, and Witch's Revelation changes several of them.

C1, In Mist-Like Waters, gives an Anemo-triggered Swirl +1,100% of her Elemental Mastery, roughly every 3.5 seconds. That is a flat added term in the Swirl formula, so it is worth most precisely when your other reaction multipliers are weakest.

C2, Your Echo I Meet in Dreams, is the team-wide one: +0.04% Pyro, Hydro, Cryo and Electro damage bonus per point of her Elemental Mastery to nearby members for the whole Dreamdrifter window — +40% at 1,000 Elemental Mastery, and Revelation adds a 20% Resistance strip on those elements plus Anemo. C2 is where she stops being a good support and becomes a format-defining one.

C3 and C5 add three talent levels to her Skill and Burst. C4 makes Snack pickups both damage and heal while returning 5 Energy to Mizuki up to four times per Burst. C6, The Heart Lingers Long, lets party Swirl damage crit at a fixed 30% Crit Rate and 100% Crit Damage during Dreamdrifter, and with Revelation turns every point of her Elemental Mastery above 500 into +0.04% Crit Rate and +0.16% Crit Damage for her, capped at +20% and +80% — the only line in her kit that makes Crit relevant, and the reason the build above ignores it until then.

How do you get Mizuki for free right now?

Two routes are open in Version 7.1, and one of them hands over the whole character.

Route 1 — the free 5-star selector. The official Version 7.1 Benefits Overview, pushed in game as an announcement on 12 September 2026 with an image-only body, includes a "5-Star Character: Choose 1 of 8" reward whose pool is Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Tighnari, Keqing, Dehya and Yumemizuki Mizuki. The listed condition is to log in after the version update, it ships ascension materials to Level 60 with the character, and its duration runs to 11/03 server time. One note on terminology: HoYoverse never labels this "the standard-wish selector", and Mizuki, unlike the other seven, debuted on a limited banner — but she is in the pool on the official infographic, so if she is the character you want, that is a free copy. Our free 5-star selector guide covers both 7.1 selectors and every deadline.

Route 2 — a free constellation, but check the calendar first. The in-game announcement for "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" covers 10 August 2026 at 04:00 through 2 November 2026 at 03:59 and needs Adventure Rank 14. Four Daily Commissions plus 120 Original Resin spent in a day is a daily goal, five daily goals inside a week is a weekly goal, and eight weekly goals redeem one Stella Fortuna of your choice. The announcement states:

"Starting from this 'To Temper Thyself and Journey Far' event, Stella Fortuna for the following characters will be permanently added to the available redemption rewards: Lyney, Wriothesley, Navia, Sigewinne, Clorinde, Emilie, Chiori, Xianyun, Yumemizuki Mizuki."

Here is the part most coverage skips. Weekly goals reset Monday at 04:00, and the cycle contains twelve weekly windows. On 2 October 2026 you are inside the eighth, which leaves at most five windows including the current one — against a requirement of eight. A player starting from zero today cannot reach the Stella Fortuna before the cycle closes, so this is only live for you if you have already banked at least three weekly goals. Two further constraints: you cannot redeem one for a character you do not own or who already received one from a past cycle, and unclaimed selections do not carry to the next cycle.

Which means the order of operations matters. Claim the character from the selector first — the Stella Fortuna requires you to already own her, and the Temper cycle closes on 2 November, one day before the selector does.

How much material does it cost to max her?

Full ascension costs 420,000 Mora, 1 Vayuda Turquoise Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks and 6 Gemstones, 46 Talismans of the Enigmatic Land, 168 Sea Ganoderma, and 18 Old, 30 Kageuchi and 36 Famed Handguards. Taking one talent to Level 10 costs 1,652,500 Mora, 3 Teachings, 21 Guides and 38 Philosophies of Transience, 6 Fading Candle from her weekly boss, and 1 Crown of Insight.

If you only level one talent, level the Elemental Skill — that is where the 0.18%-to-0.45% conversion lives. The real gate is not the Mora: 168 Sea Ganoderma, a Liyue coastal specialty on a two-day respawn, is what holds her back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mizuki a healer or a damage buffer? Both, built as a buffer. Her heal scales off Elemental Mastery (235.01% plus 692 at talent Level 10, doubled when she collects the Snack herself), so the build that maximises her Swirl buff also maximises her healing. You never trade one for the other.

Should I build Crit on Mizuki? No, unless you have C6 with the Witch's Revelation upgrade, which converts Elemental Mastery above 500 into Crit Rate and Crit Damage, capped at +20% and +80%. Below that, every Crit substat is roughly six points of Elemental Mastery you did not take.

Is Sunny Morning Sleep-In worth pulling? Best-in-slot by a clear margin: Elemental Mastery secondary stat plus up to 248 more at R1 off conditions her rotation already satisfies. Not required — two 2-piece Elemental Mastery bonuses plus Elemental Mastery main stats gets her functional.

Do I need the Witch's Revelation passive to use her? No, but it is her largest single upgrade. It needs her at Level 70 or higher plus the Witch's Revelation Case from "Revelations by Chance", and her own unlock quest is "Witch's Revelation: Instruction Beyond Dreams".

Is Mizuki good in the current Spiral Abyss? Yes, in the first half of Floor 12 in the cycle running 16 September to 16 October 2026, which carries Swirl damage +200% and Stellar Swirl damage +75% under the "Cascading Moon" Blessing — the two damage types her Elemental Skill multiplies.

Can I still get a free Mizuki constellation? Only if you started earlier in the cycle. "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" ends 2 November 2026 at 03:59 and needs eight weekly goals; from 2 October at most five weekly windows remain, so you need at least three already banked. She is on the permanent Stella Fortuna roster, but you must already own her and unclaimed selections do not carry over.
