GTA Online Panther Statue Is Back (Aug 6–12, 2026): The GTA$2.09M Cayo Perico Target & How to Guarantee It

The single most valuable item in GTA Online is coming back, and this time there's no gambling for it. From August 6 to August 12, 2026, the Panther Statue returns to El Rubio's vault on Cayo Perico as part of Rockstar's Summer Heist Event — and it's guaranteed on your first Cayo Perico Heist of the week. No prep runs to scope it, no RNG, no re-scoping until the good target shows. Your first finale of that week is a GTA$2 million payday.

This is the guide to cashing in: exactly what the Panther Statue is worth, when the window opens, how the 100% guarantee works, and the setup you need to have ready before August 6 so you don't waste a minute of the seven-day window.

Quick answer: what is the Panther Statue and when can I get it?

TL;DR — The Panther Statue is a limited-time Cayo Perico primary target worth GTA$1,900,000 on Normal and GTA$2,090,000 on Hard Mode — more than double the Pink Diamond, the best permanent target. It returns August 6–12, 2026, and is 100% guaranteed on your first Cayo Perico Heist run of that week (no scoping RNG). Finishing a Cayo run during the window also grants the Panther Tour Jacket, and simply logging in between Aug 6–12 pays a GTA$1,000,000 bonus within 72 hours. Right now, through August 5, the Fleeca and Pacific Standard heists pay 2X GTA$ on your first weekly completion. If you'd rather skip the setup grind entirely, a GTA 5 money top-up drops the cash straight in your account.

Here's the roadmap:

  • What the Panther Statue is worth — Normal, Hard Mode, and how it compares
  • The exact event dates — what's live now vs. what unlocks August 6
  • How the guarantee works — why you skip scoping entirely
  • Your pre-August-6 setup checklist — be ready before the window opens
  • Realistic payout math — what a solo Hard Mode Panther run actually banks
  • Jacket, login bonus & 2X heists — the rest of the Summer Heist Event

What is the Panther Statue worth in GTA Online?

The Panther Statue is a gold, sapphire-studded jaguar sculpture that sits on a blue orb — and it is the highest-value primary target the Cayo Perico Heist has ever had. Hard Mode adds a flat 10% to the primary target, exactly like every other Cayo target.

Here's how it stacks against the targets you can normally scope:

Primary TargetValue (Normal)Value (Hard Mode)Availability
Sinsimito TequilaGTA$400,000GTA$440,000Permanent
Ruby NecklaceGTA$560,000GTA$616,000Permanent

Pink DiamondGTA$910,000GTA$1,001,000Permanent

Permanent-target values reflect the post–Title Update 1.73 reduction; see our Cayo Perico loot values guide for the full breakdown.

The gap is the whole story. Since Title Update 1.73 (July 14, 2026) cut the regular Cayo pool, the Panther Statue's advantage exploded. Rockstar documented that nerf directly:

"The values of Primary and Secondary Targets in The Cayo Perico Heist have been reduced."

Rockstar Games, GTAV Title Update 1.73 notes (July 14, 2026)

That reduction only ever applied to the permanent targets. The Panther Statue's event value stayed at GTA$1.9M — so at GTA$2,090,000 on Hard Mode it now pays 2.1× the Pink Diamond, the best target you can otherwise get. This is the most efficient single heist finale in the game while the window is open.

When is the Panther Statue available in 2026?

The Panther Statue is part of a two-week Summer Heist Event, and the schedule is split into two phases:

PhaseDatesWhat's live
Week 1 (now)July 30 – August 52X GTA$ on first weekly Fleeca & Pacific Standard completions
Week 2 (Panther)August 6 – August 12Panther Statue guaranteed on first Cayo run + Panther Tour Jacket + GTA$1M login bonus

The critical detail: the Panther Statue is not obtainable outside an active event week. It's hard-disabled in Rockstar's server configuration the rest of the year — it cannot appear on a normal scope-out, no matter how many times you re-scope. Any guide claiming you can "roll" it on a regular week is wrong. The Aug 6–12 window is the door, and it closes.

How does the guaranteed Panther Statue work?

Normally, Cayo Perico makes you gamble. You fly out, scope the compound, and hope the primary target that spawned is worth the run — and since TU 1.73, your repeat scope-outs are 80% likely to be the worst target in the game (Sinsimito Tequila).

During Panther Statue Week, that gamble is gone. As multiple outlets confirmed for the Aug 6–12 window, you are assured a 100% chance of getting the Panther Statue on your first playthrough — no RNG to worry about, and no preparation runs needed to check what primary target spawned (Sportskeeda). You still complete the normal prep and infiltration, but the vault holds the Panther the moment you start your first heist of the week.

One caveat worth stating plainly: it's guaranteed on the first run of the week. After you complete that finale, subsequent runs in the same week fall back to the normal scoping pool — so the smart play is to make your first Panther run the fully optimized one (Hard Mode, full secondary bag, Elite Challenge).

Your pre–August 6 setup checklist

The window is only seven days. Don't spend day one buying prerequisites — have all of this ready before the 6th:

  • Own the Kosatka submarine. It's the base of operations for Cayo Perico and the only way to start the heist. If you don't have it, buy it before the window (base price GTA$2,200,000 from Warstock).
  • Know your Hard Mode timing. Hard Mode is what turns GTA$1.9M into GTA$2.09M. To activate it you must pay the GTA$100,000 setup fee within 48 real minutes of Pavel contacting you after your cooldown expires. Miss that window and you're locked to Normal for the run.
  • Plan your infiltration and escape points during the prep so the finale is fast — the Elite Challenge (finish under 15 minutes, fill every bag, no fingerprint-hack fail) pays an extra GTA$50,000 on Normal / GTA$100,000 on Hard Mode.
  • Clear your cooldown early. After a solo finale the cooldown is 144 real minutes; after a crew finale it's 48 minutes. If you run Cayo before the 6th, time it so you're off cooldown when the window opens.
  • Route for cocaine as your secondary. Solo, the best secondary loot per bag is cocaine (~GTA$356K–364K a full bag) — gold needs two players for the compound storage. Grab El Rubio's office safe on the way out (GTA$18K–99K, zero bag space).

How much does a Hard Mode Panther Statue run actually pay?

Let's run the real math on the run you'll want to make on August 6 — solo, Hard Mode, Panther Statue, full cocaine bag:

  • Panther Statue (Hard Mode): GTA$2,090,000
  • 2× cocaine stacks (full bag): ~GTA$360,000
  • El Rubio's safe (mid-range): ~GTA$50,000
  • Gross: ~GTA$2,500,000
  • Less ~12% (10% fencing fee + Pavel's 2% cut): ~GTA$2,200,000
  • Plus Elite Challenge on Hard Mode: +GTA$100,000
  • Less setup fee: −GTA$100,000
  • Net: ≈ GTA$2,200,000 for one finale

For comparison, a normal repeat Cayo run in 2026 lands around GTA$700K–800K after the TU 1.73 nerf. The Panther Statue nearly triples that in a single guaranteed run — which is exactly why the whole community is planning around this week.

The rest of the Summer Heist Event: jacket, login bonus & 2X heists

The Panther Statue is the headline, but it's not the only money on the table:

  • Panther Tour Jacket — completing the Cayo Perico Heist during the August 6–12 window rewards a free Panther Tour Jacket, a limited-time cosmetic that won't be available after the event.
  • GTA$1,000,000 login bonus — logging into GTA Online any time between August 6 and 12 grants a flat GTA$1,000,000, delivered within 72 hours. No missions, no conditions beyond being in the game during the window.
  • 2X classic heists (through August 5) — right now, before Panther week, your first weekly completion of the Fleeca Heist and the Pacific Standard Heist finales pay double GTA$. Knock these out this week so you go into Panther week with a full bank.

Stacked together, a player who takes the GTA$1M login bonus, runs the 2X heists this week, then banks a Hard Mode Panther Statue on August 6 clears well over GTA$3 million across the event — before any additional grinding.

Is it worth buying the Kosatka just for Panther week?

Yes, if you'll keep playing Cayo after. The Kosatka is GTA$2,200,000, and a single guaranteed Hard Mode Panther run nets ~GTA$2.2M — so the sub essentially pays for itself in one heist during this window, then remains your Cayo base for every future run. If you only want the cash and don't care about the grind, buying the Kosatka + doing the prep is a lot of setup for one week.

That's the honest trade-off: the Panther Statue is the best money-per-heist in the game while it's live, but it still costs you the Kosatka, the prep time, and the cooldowns. If your goal is the mansion, the cars, and the Kosatka without burning a weekend on setup:

FAQ

How much is the Panther Statue worth in GTA Online? GTA$1,900,000 on Normal and GTA$2,090,000 on Hard Mode. That makes it the single most valuable primary target in the Cayo Perico Heist — more than double the Pink Diamond (GTA$910,000 Normal / GTA$1,001,000 Hard Mode), the best permanently available target after Title Update 1.73.

When is the Panther Statue available in 2026? From August 6 to August 12, 2026, as the second week of Rockstar's Summer Heist Event. It cannot be obtained outside an active event week — it's hard-disabled the rest of the year and cannot appear on a normal scope-out.

Is the Panther Statue guaranteed? Yes. During the August 6–12 window it is 100% guaranteed on your first Cayo Perico Heist run of the week — no scoping RNG and no preparation runs needed to check the target. Runs after your first finale that week revert to the normal target pool.

How much does a Panther Statue run pay? A solo Hard Mode run with a full cocaine secondary bag nets roughly GTA$2,200,000 after the 10% fencing fee, Pavel's 2% cut and the GTA$100,000 setup — nearly triple a normal 2026 Cayo run (~GTA$700K–800K).

Do I need the Kosatka to get the Panther Statue? Yes. The Kosatka submarine (GTA$2,200,000 from Warstock) is required to start the Cayo Perico Heist. A single guaranteed Hard Mode Panther run roughly covers its cost, so it pays for itself if you buy it for this window.

What else does the Summer Heist Event give me? A free Panther Tour Jacket for completing Cayo during August 6–12, a GTA$1,000,000 login bonus for signing in during that window (paid within 72 hours), and — through August 5 — 2X GTA$ on your first weekly Fleeca and Pacific Standard heist completions.
