Trading is the only method without a dice roll, and the cheapest Chromas sit at 20 to 25 value, around one Lightbringer. Only 18 of the 46 Chromas can be earned right now. What is a Chroma in MM2?
A Chroma is a color-shifting version of an existing weapon. The MM2 Wiki calls them "color alternating versions of several godlies" and counts 46 in the game. Chroma Luger is the rainbow version of Luger. Chroma Seer is the rainbow version of Seer.
Chroma isn't a separate tier above Godly. Almost all Chromas are Godly weapons. The two exceptions are Chroma Emberbow and Chroma Emberscythe, the first Chroma Ancients, which were added in the Halloween 2026 event.
Here's the part that surprises new players: a Chroma isn't automatically valuable. On MM2 Values today, 19 Chromas are worth 60 or less, and 27 are worth 1,300 or more. Nothing sits in between.

Method 1: How do you unbox a Chroma in MM2?
Every shop box has a Chroma of the Godly inside it. Each roll is 0.004% on the wiki's box tables, and the wiki itself says "the chances of unboxing a chroma are extremely low."

If you're opening boxes, open Mystery Box 2. It's the only shop box with two Chromas, and each is listed at 0.004%, which works out to about 1 in 12,500 per box. Those two are also the most valuable shop-box Chromas, and its Godlies are the most valuable shop-box Godlies. One catch: Mystery Box 2 is a Season 1 box, so its weapons can't be salvaged for shards.
The real cost of a box Chroma:
- 1 in 25,000 means an average of 25,000,000 Coins from a single-Chroma box.
- Coins cap at 40 per round, or 50 with the 499 Robux Elite Gamepass. That's 625,000 rounds, or 500,000 with Elite.
- Even Mystery Box 2 averages 12,500,000 Coins, or about 312,500 rounds.
- "Average" isn't a promise. After 25,000 boxes, you still have about a 37% chance of having no Chroma at all.
Coins also don't drop during Halloween 2026, because Candies replace them until the event ends. So unboxing is a side effect of playing, not a plan. Open boxes when you've got spare Coins, and treat a Chroma as a lucky bonus.
Method 2: How do you get a Chroma Seer in MM2?
Chroma Seer is the only Chroma at the Crafting Station, and you can't craft it directly. You craft a Random Painted Seer at the Crafting Station, and you'll get one of six: Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple or Chroma.
The recipe is 10 Godly shards + 10 Godly metals. Metals come from salvaging Seers, at 1 metal per Seer, so you need 10 Seers. Shards come from salvaging other Classic Godlies, and the amount depends on the Godly.
The odds aren't published. The wiki only says Chroma Seer is the rarest and has "the slimmest chance of crafting."
Here's the math before you try it. Ten Seers are worth about 30 on MM2 Values, plus a Classic Godly for the shards. If you win, you get an item worth 25. If you lose, you get a colored Seer, and Orange and Yellow are worth 2.
Don't craft for value. Crafting a Chroma Seer only makes sense if you specifically want it and have spare Seers. A trade can usually get it for less. If that's the one you want, check for offers around 25 on MM2 Values, or 28 on Supreme.
Method 3: How do you get a Chroma from the Halloween 2026 event?
The Halloween 2026 event ends November 16, 2026 at 18:00 UTC, per Roblox's official event listing. It's the best free shot at a high-value Chroma, and it offers more of them than any shop box.
Chroma Embersickle (Halloween Box). The 2026 Halloween Box costs 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key, and Chroma Embersickle is 0.004%. The pass has a Key on every odd tier from 3 to 27, so that's 13 Keys without spending Robux, or about a 1 in 1,900 chance over all 13. It's worth 1,300 today, about 16 times a plain Embersickle at 80.
Chroma Emberbow (pass tier 30). Tier 30 costs 100,000 Candies, after 16,800 Candies for tiers 2 to 29. That's 116,800 total. It gives you the Emberbow, with what the wiki calls "a very rare chance" of the Chroma, worth 7,500. It takes Candies, not Robux. Our MM2 Candies guide shows the daily pace you need.
The odds are unpublished, and the guesses vary. In an r/MurderMystery2 thread on the first pulls, one player wrote "It's 1/25 same as chroma gift items." Another said "I think its like 1/50 or something." The second added that it was "Heard from a rumor not confirmed." Neither figure has a source, so treat both as chat.
Chroma Emberscythe (Cauldron). Combine one Embersickle and one Emberbow at the Cauldron to get an Emberscythe, with a "low chance" of Chroma Emberscythe, worth 15,500. You can repeat it as often as you have materials.
The math is the catch, because the Emberscythe now trades below its parts:

Chroma Mortal and Chroma Immortal (Robux). The Mortal and Immortal gamepasses cost 1,699 Robux each, and the Mortal Bundle costs 3,399 Robux. The wiki lists the Chroma versions under the same purchase, but doesn't give the odds. Chroma Mortal is worth 1,800 on MM2 Values, against 140 for plain Mortal. Our Mortal value page tracks both. Method 4: How do you trade for a Chroma in MM2?
Trading is the only way to get a specific Chroma, and for 28 of the 46 it's the only way at all. You'll need to be level 10 or higher, and you can trade up to 4 unique items per trade (MM2 Wiki).

On paper, one Lightbringer (33) or Darkbringer (35) covers any of those. Here's how to do it without getting burned:
- Start with Godlies that have demand. Lightbringer, Darkbringer, Laser and Shark are all at demand 2, and that's the part of the market that actually moves. They're stable too.
- Pick a Chroma you'd keep. Demand 1 means a cheap Chroma is hard to trade away. If you want something to trade up with later, Chroma Luger (48, demand 2) and Chroma Darkbringer (60, demand 2) are easier to move.
- Use one list for both sides. The two lists disagree a lot on new items. Emberbow is 1,300 on MM2 Values and 750 on Supreme. Mixing them can turn a fair trade into a bad one.
- Don't buy new Chromas in launch week. Chroma Embersickle has already dropped from 3,750 on October 22 to 1,300 today. Players compare it with Ice Cream, which they say fell hard after its event. One player in a value thread was asked when the drop would stop and answered "When halloween is over."
- Watch the view-and-switch. A Chroma and its plain version use the same model, and the glow is easy to miss on a phone. A scammer shows the Chroma, then swaps in the plain one. Check the color cycling on the slot right before you accept. If the offer changes at any point, cancel and start again.

Which Chromas can you only get by trading?
Every Chroma worth more than 15,500 is trade-only: Chroma Traveler's Gun (140,000), Evergun (48,000), Evergreen (33,000), Bauble (29,000), Constellation (26,000), Vampire's Gun (25,000) and Alienbeam (23,000). No box, code or craft will give you one.
The next new ones will likely come from Christmas. MM2 hasn't announced Christmas 2026, but the last one ran from December 14, 2025 to January 19, 2026. Its tier 30 cost 100,000 Snow Tokens and had a rare Chroma Snowcannon, which is worth 7,650 today. If Christmas 2026 follows that pattern, tier 30 will be the free roll to chase.

Common mistakes when going for a Chroma
- Believing "free Chroma" sites. Any site that asks for your Roblox password or a "verification" off roblox.com is trying to steal your account. MM2 has no Chroma generator.
- Waiting for a code. The MM2 codes page is clear: there are no working codes.
- Crafting Seers for a Chroma. You spend more value than you get back, even if you win the roll.
- Trusting "1 in X" numbers in chat. The only odds with any source are the 0.004% box rolls on the wiki, and even those aren't official.
- Treating a Chroma as an automatic win. A Chroma Boneblade at 20 is worth less than a plain Lightbringer at 33.
