What is an AI Subroutine in Marathon?

An AI Subroutine is a Cryo Archive collectible: each of the six standard vaults inside the Archive can drop one. They are tracked in your Codex rather than your Vault, so they are not loot you can lose on a bad extraction. Collecting all six is the prerequisite that, together with a DNA Access Card, unlocks the 7th Vault and the Compiler encounter at the top of the Archive.

Do Marathon Subroutines survive the seasonal wipe?

Yes. Cryo Archive Subroutine progress is one of the few things Marathon carries between seasons, along with cosmetics, titles, Reward Pass progress, Liaison contract progression, SILK and Lux. Season 3 arrives on 22 September 2026 and wipes Runner level, Season Level, Ranked level, faction levels, everything in your Vault and all non-premium currencies. Subroutines banked before that date are still there afterwards.

How much does a Marathon subroutine farm cost?

A single AI Subroutine starts at $22.99. Five of the six standard vaults are priced at that rate; the deepest one is $52.99 because it sits behind a higher Security Clearance. Ticking all six individually comes to $167.94, so the full-set scope is offered at $134.35 instead, a 20% saving. Platform choice adds nothing to the total.

What do I need on my account before the farm can start?

The Cryo Archive has four hard entry gates: Runner Level 25, all six factions unlocked through their Liaison Contracts, a loadout worth at least 5,000 Credits, and a full trio, since the zone has no solo or duo queue. Two of those three seats are ours. If your account is short on any of the first three gates, say so at checkout and we sort the missing gate before the Subroutine runs begin.

Why does the sixth Subroutine cost more than the others?

Security Clearance is earned inside each run and goes from 0 to 5. Clearance 3 is the minimum that activates Exfil Stations and opens the standard vaults, while Clearance 4 is what opens the higher-end vaults and the deeper sections of the Archive. The last standard vault sits behind that deeper clearance, so it takes a longer, riskier run to reach — $52.99 against $22.99 for the others.

Does this order include the 7th Vault and the Compiler kill?

No. This service farms the six AI Subroutines only. The 7th Vault and the Compiler open once you hold all six Subroutines and a DNA Access Card, and that encounter is sold separately as a Cryo Archive carry. Buy the full set of six here first, and the Compiler route becomes available to you on any later Archive run, ours or your own.

Can I order only the Subroutines I am missing?

Yes, and that is what the page opens on. Leave the scope on the pick-your-own setting and tick between one and six Subroutines at $22.99 each, or $52.99 for the deepest vault. Switch the scope to the full set only if you are starting from zero, because that price assumes all six runs are booked together. Everything else the runs loot stays on your account either way.
