Quick answer: In Operations, our pick for the best Delta Force sniper rifle is the M700, and its limited-time Haavk Whirlwind attachments (on sale until November 9) make it the most flexible bolt-action this season. Bring the M82 only when you need .50 BMG power, since it's the one rifle the patch notes say can damage Chariot-type vehicles. For most extraction runs a marksman rifle is the better buy: the SVCH, M14 and VSS all received official buffs this year. In Warfare, where weapons cost no Tekniq Alloy, run the R93 for one-shot pressure and the M82 for anti-vehicle work and pilot snipes. Operations and Warfare have separate stat tables, so a rifle that's great in one mode can be average in the other.
Key takeaways
- There are two stat tables. Team Jade's notes list Operations and Warfare changes separately, sometimes with different numbers for the same part. In the Reorientation update (live September 8, 2026), the M82's Crocodile Barrel Combo went to +11 handling in Operations but +10 in Warfare.
- Stand still to snipe in Operations. Since the Reorientation update, "firing while stationary has no bloom, but any movement causes significant spread" when you aim down sights with a sniper rifle in Operations.
- The M700 is the season's special rifle. The Haavk Whirlwind Frame System adds semi-auto burst fire and the Enhanced Gas Block adds full auto, both until November 9.
- Warfare rewards ammo-hungry rifles. The SVCH's Warfare reserve ammo went from 60 to 180 and the M82's from 10 to 20.
- Recheck on November 10. Season Aurora launches that day with full patch notes, and any number below can move.
This guide applies to Season Reorientation (September 8 – November 9, 2026). Every stat comes from the official Delta Force patch notes on Steam, up to the October 28, 2026 post. The newest firearm changes are from the October 15 balance update, and only Detonation got sniper changes that day. The picks are editorial recommendations: our reading of those changes plus player reports, not measured kill tests. We say which is which.
Which sniper and marksman rifles are in Delta Force?
The official patch notes name six sniper rifles and eight marksman rifles, plus the Lever-action Rifle, which players use like a marksman rifle. Ammo calibers are listed where Team Jade's notes give them.

What is the best sniper rifle in Delta Force Operations?
Our all-round Operations pick this season is the M700. It's the only sniper rifle with exclusive Reorientation attachments. Per the Reorientation update notes, the two Haavk parts change how the rifle fires:
| M700 attachment (Operations) | Stat changes | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| HVK Whirlwind Frame System | Control −4, Stability +4, Accuracy −8 | Modification slots, semi-auto burst fire |
| HVK Whirlwind Enhanced Gas Block | Control −4, Handling −2, Stability +2 | Full auto, with limb and abdomen damage penalties |
The October 15 post says both parts are on sale until November 9: "Head to the Auction House to buy them directly, or pick them up with a low drop chance from Large Weapon Crates in-match." Polaris Patrol also unlocks crafting for the Gas Block "once Polaris Patrol reaches the Hunter stage, limited to 10 per week". Our Polaris Patrol guide explains how to reach that stage.
Use the plain bolt-action M700 when you can hold an angle and want a clean headshot. The burst frame suits players who miss follow-up shots, at the cost of 8 accuracy. The full-auto gas block turns it into a close-range panic tool, but the limb and abdomen damage penalties make it a poor long-range choice.
The M82 is the specialist pick. It fires .50 BMG and, according to the Season Meltdown notes, "can now deal damage to Chariot-type vehicle equipment in Operations mode." That matters this season, because Petite Madame and her Chariot roam Operations during the Petite Madame Rampage event (October 16 – November 9). The Reorientation update also made it easier to handle in Operations:
- Crocodile Barrel Combo: Handling +8 → +11
- AMR-HT Hollow Stock: Handling +4 → +8
Leave the M82 at home for tight indoor routes. Even with the handling buffs it's slow to bring up.
Is a marksman rifle better than a sniper in Operations?
For most players, we think so. A sniper rifle loses most of its value the moment you start moving, because Operations now punishes moving while aiming. A marksman rifle fires fast enough to land follow-up shots, which matters when a squad pushes you. A r/DeltaForceGlobal thread from November 2 asked for the best long-range guns, and one player answered: "Vss, Svch, M14, Lever action are great ones for mid range shooting."
The official changes back that up:
- SVCH: Fires 7.62x54R and arrived on June 30, 2026 in Season Meltdown. It's the newest marksman rifle, and Team Jade swapped it into gear-ticket loadouts in Meltdown and took it out again for Reorientation.
- M14: In the Reorientation update the 30-round mag's handling penalty was halved from −8 to −4, and the 50-round drum's from −12 to −6. It's the easiest high-capacity marksman rifle to run this season.
- VSS: The March 2026 mid-season update raised Operations damage from 35 to 40 and the limb multiplier from 0.4 to 0.5. That makes body and leg hits count for more.
- Mini-14: The Morphosis update (live February 3, 2026) raised Operations damage from 32 to 34 and the limb multiplier from 0.4x to 0.5x. It's a cheap rifle for a starter kit.
- SR-25: Its Operations base range was cut from 90m to 60m back in September 2025. Fit the Nova Ultra-Long Barrel for muzzle velocity, not range.
Ammo decides more fights than the rifle does. As one player put it in a Nov 1 thread on damage and armor, "Armour and bullets have very complex relations in this game. Add here range fall ofs and protection becomes more and more impactful." Before you spend Tekniq Alloy on a rifle, read our ammo and armor penetration guide and buy the penetration level that beats the armor you expect.
What is the best sniper rifle in Delta Force Warfare?
Our Warfare bolt-action pick is the R93. Team Jade's War Ablaze update (September 2025) raised its Warfare base damage from 74 to 100 and replaced its damage falloff with 0.8x at 0m, 1x at 30m and 0.6x at 60m. The limb multiplier dropped from 1 to 0.9. It hits hardest at medium range and is worse at point-blank, so play it from the second line of cover, not on the objective.
For anti-vehicle work and pilot snipes, take the M82. Warfare got its own handling buffs in the Reorientation update (Crocodile Barrel Combo +8 → +10, AMR-HT Hollow Stock +3 → +7), and the May 2026 mid-season update doubled its Warfare reserve ammo from 10 to 20. There's even an achievement for it. Air Snipe asks you to "use any sniper rifle to take down an aircraft pilot", in Grade or Victory Unite matches only.
For sustained fire, our Warfare marksman pick is the SVCH. The July 30 mid-season update raised its Warfare reserve ammo from 60 to 180, and an August 6 fix made its Chrome-Plated Burst Bolt increase fire rate in Warfare, as it was meant to.
Warfare also changes the cost math. As the player in the November 2 thread said, "You can go heavy with these bcoz warfare doesn't have a currency requirement just attachments." Use Warfare to level the attachments you want, then decide which rifle is worth risking in Operations. For assault-rifle picks by mode, see our best Warfare weapons and loadouts.
Operations vs Warfare: which sniper rifle should you use?
| Situation | Operations pick | Warfare pick |
|---|---|---|
| Long-range headshots | M700 (plain bolt) | R93 |
| Armor and vehicles | M82 (damages Chariot-type equipment) | M82 (20 reserve rounds) |
| Mid-range all-rounder | SVCH or M14 | SVCH (180 reserve rounds) |
| Budget kit | Mini-14 or SKS | Any, since Warfare costs no Alloy |
| Close-range backup | M700 with the full-auto gas block | Carry a sidearm |
How do you snipe well in Delta Force?
Three changes from this year decide most sniper fights:
- Stop before you shoot in Operations. The Reorientation movement penalty means any strafe while aiming adds significant spread. Peek, plant your feet and fire.
- Use the faster bolt recovery. The same notes say Team Jade "Reduced the long recovery time after firing a bolt-action SR", so you can sprint to new cover sooner after a shot.
- Go for the head on knockdowns. Since the Season Echo update (April 21, 2026), a sniper knockdown in Operations only adds extra rescue time if it was a headshot. A body knockdown gets revived at the normal speed.
Pair your rifle with a sidearm or, in Operations, a compact second weapon. A long-range player in the November 2 thread runs the Lever-action Rifle with "that one shotgun that folds up for my secondary". That's a good idea in Operations, where every fight eventually comes inside.
What changed for snipers in Detonation?
Detonation has its own balance table. On October 15 the M700 lost damage there: semi-auto mode 100 → 77 with a 0.9x abdomen multiplier, and auto mode's headshot multiplier went from 2.5x to 2.2x. None of that applies to Operations or Warfare. Our Detonation best weapons guide covers the full October list.
Will Season Aurora change the best sniper rifles?
Probably. Season Aurora starts on November 10, 2026, and Team Jade said on its October 30 Developer Preview stream that full patch notes come before launch. The same stream announced the AN-94, new weapon kits, new ammo tabs and a Firing Range 2.0, which is the place to test any rifle before you take it into Operations. The Haavk M700 attachments leave sale on November 9, so if you want one, buy it this week. Our Season Aurora release guide tracks what's confirmed, and we'll refresh this page when the Aurora notes land.
FAQ
What is the best sniper rifle in Delta Force? Our Operations pick this season is the M700, thanks to its limited-time Haavk attachments, with the M82 for armor and vehicles. In Warfare we pick the R93, whose base damage went from 74 to 100.
Is the M82 worth it in Delta Force? Yes, if you need to damage vehicles or armored targets. It's the rifle the patch notes say can damage Chariot-type vehicle equipment in Operations. For normal extraction runs a marksman rifle such as the SVCH or M14 is faster and cheaper to lose.
Why do my sniper shots miss when I move in Delta Force? Since the Reorientation update (live September 8, 2026), moving while aiming a sniper rifle in Operations causes significant spread. Firing while standing still has no bloom.
What is the best marksman rifle in Delta Force? Our all-round picks this season are the SVCH and M14. The VSS and Mini-14 both got damage buffs in 2026 and make good budget picks in Operations.
Are weapon stats the same in Operations and Warfare? No. Team Jade balances each mode separately, so the same rifle or attachment can have different numbers. The M82's Crocodile Barrel Combo gives +11 handling in Operations and +10 in Warfare.
How do I get the M700 Haavk Whirlwind attachments? In Operations, buy them at the Auction House or find them in Large Weapon Crates. In Warfare, unlock them in the Armory. Both are available until November 9, 2026.
