Navia can hold six stacks of Crystal Shrapnel. Almost everything in her kit stops paying at three. That single mismatch is the most expensive thing most Navia players are still getting wrong in Version 7.1, and the Lunar-Crystallize rewrite of her skill text made it worse, not better.
Quick answer. Build Navia as an on-field Geo carry: 4-piece Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods, ATK percent sands, Geo damage goblet, CRIT circlet, with Verdict or Serpent Spine. Fire Ceremonial Crystalshot at exactly three Crystal Shrapnel, never at zero — a zero-stack cast fires 5 shardshots for a 120 percent multiplier against a three-stack cast's 11 for 200 percent, so dumping both charges back to back throws away 40 percent of the second. Because Lunar-Crystallize grants at most one stack per second, the correct gap between charges is three seconds at C0 through C5, six only at C6. Her damage is plain Geo damage, not Lunar reaction damage, so none of the new Nod-Krai Lunar sets belong on her.
What actually changed for Navia in the Lunar era?
Navia released on 20 December 2023 in Version 4.3 as a 5-star Geo claymore user from Fontaine. For two years her engine was simple: somebody triggered Crystallize, a shard dropped on the floor, a character walked over it, Navia banked a stack.
Her printed skill text no longer says that. It now reads, verbatim:
"When a character in the party obtains an Elemental Shard created from the Crystallize reaction, or when they trigger the Lunar-Crystallize reaction, Navia will gain 1 Crystal Shrapnel stack. Navia can have up to 6 stacks of Crystal Shrapnel at once. Each time Crystal Shrapnel gain is triggered, the duration of the Crystal Shrapnel stacks you already have will be reset. Through the Lunar-Crystallize reaction, Navia will gain up to 1 Crystal Shrapnel stack every second."
That last sentence is the whole story. The Lunar-Crystallize route removes the shard pickup entirely — no walking over anything, no shards lost behind a wall — and replaces it with a hard rate limit. Navia trades a positioning problem for a clock.
Two things about that clock matter before you build her. First, Lunar-Crystallize is Geo plus Hydro only. The in-game tutorial states it plainly: "When Geo meets Hydro, and certain other conditions are met, a special Lunar-Crystallize reaction occurs, and three Moondrifts will form near the target." Ordinary Crystallize still works with Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro; the Lunar version does not, and plenty of third-party pages still get this wrong.
Second, "certain other conditions" means a gate. You need a party member whose Moonsign Benediction passive converts Hydro Crystallize, and exactly three characters in the entire game have one: Linnea (Habitat Survey), Zibai (The Coursing Sun and Moon) and Columbina (Moonlight, Lent Unto You). All three are limited 5-stars; characters who merely raise your Moonsign level, like Aino or Illuga, convert nothing. There is no free-to-play route into Lunar-Crystallize Navia, and if you own none of those three, the classic shard-pickup Navia below is unchanged and still excellent. Our Lunar reactions explainer covers how the Moonsign gate works across all five new reactions.
How does Ceremonial Crystalshot actually work?
Navia's entire damage profile is one skill. Ceremonial Crystalshot consumes every Crystal Shrapnel stack she holds and fires Rosula Shardshots that penetrate opponents. The shot count is a step function of stacks consumed, and the damage multiplier is a step function of how many of those shots connect.
| Stacks consumed | Rosula Shardshots fired | Base DMG multiplier if all hit |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 5 | 120% |
| 1 | 7 | 140% |
| 2 | 9 | 166.6% |
| 3 or more | 11 | 200% |
The skill has two initial charges, a 9-second cooldown, generates 3.5 elemental particles on hit, and Crystal Shrapnel stacks last 300 seconds. Past three stacks the only thing that keeps scaling is a flat clause: "when more than 3 stacks of Crystal Shrapnel are consumed, every stack consumed beyond those 3 will increase the DMG dealt by this Gunbrella attack by an additional 15%."
Her burst, As the Sunlit Sky's Singing Salute, costs 60 Energy, has a 15-second cooldown, and leaves Cannon Fire Support on the field for 12 seconds, striking a random target within 10 metres every 0.75 seconds. Those cannon hits feed her stack engine too, but only "once every 2.4s".
Her ascension passives are where the build constraints come from. Undisclosed Distribution Channels converts her normal, charged and plunging attacks to Geo for 4 seconds after Ceremonial Crystalshot and increases that damage by 40 percent. Mutual Assistance Network gives "20% increased ATK" for each Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro party member, and "This effect can stack up to 2 times" — a hard ceiling of plus 40 percent ATK at exactly two such teammates. A third adds nothing, which matters enormously for team building below.
Why does every Navia effect cap at three Crystal Shrapnel?
Walk down her kit and count the ceilings. Shardshots cap at 3 stacks (11 shots). Constellation 1 grants 3 Energy per stack consumed and cuts burst cooldown by 1 second per stack, to a maximum of 9 Energy and 3 seconds — that is 3 stacks. Constellation 2 grants 12 percent CRIT Rate per stack consumed to a maximum of 36 percent — 3 stacks again. Only two things in her entire kit reward a fourth, fifth or sixth stack: the flat 15 percent clause, and Constellation 6.
The arithmetic that follows is derived from those printed maxima rather than published by HoYoverse, but it is checkable. At C0 through C5, one six-stack cast gives a 200 percent base multiplier plus a 45 percent damage bonus, which is 290 units of value. Two separate three-stack casts give 200 plus 200, which is 400. Two three-stack casts beat one six-stack cast by at least 38 percent, and by more once you remember that the 15 percent lands in the same additive bucket as your Geo goblet rather than acting as a clean multiplier.
The opposite error costs just as much. A zero-stack cast fires 5 shardshots for 120 percent; three stacks fires 11 for 200 percent. Dumping both charges the instant you swap in makes the second cast worth 60 percent of what it should be, so waiting is worth plus 67 percent on that cast — for free, since the first charge will not return for 9 seconds anyway.
Put the rate cap on top and you get the one rule to take away from this guide. Lunar-Crystallize grants at most one stack per second, so three stacks needs at least three seconds of reaction uptime and six needs at least six. Leave three seconds between your two Ceremonial Crystalshot charges at C0 through C5, and six seconds only at C6. Under the Lunar route the thing throttling Navia is no longer her cooldown; it is her shard supply.
Constellation 6 inverts the rule. The Flexible Finesse of the Spina's President adds 45 percent CRIT DMG per stack beyond the first three and returns those stacks to her, so a six-stack cast costs a net three and carries plus 135 percent CRIT DMG. At C6, and only at C6, the six-stack cast is correct.
What are the best artifacts for Navia in Version 7.1?
4-piece Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods, and it is not close. The 2-piece gives 18 percent ATK. The 4-piece gives a 20 percent Geo damage bonus for 10 seconds after an elemental skill, and that effect "will be increased by 150%" when she is under a Crystallize shield "or when Moondrifts formed by Lunar-Crystallize reactions are nearby" — in other words 20 percent becomes 50 percent Geo damage bonus. Read that clause carefully: it multiplies the 20 by 2.5, it does not add 150 points.
The temptation in Version 7.1 is to put a shiny new Nod-Krai set on a character who interacts with a Lunar reaction. Do not. Navia's Rosula Shardshots deal ordinary Geo damage; she consumes Lunar-Crystallize as a resource and never deals Lunar reaction damage herself. That makes Aubade of Morningstar and Moon and Silken Moon's Serenade dead weight, and it makes the 80 Elemental Mastery on the 2-piece of Night of the Sky's Unveiling worth literally zero.
Night of the Sky's Unveiling is the only new set with a real case, because its 4-piece grants on-field CRIT Rate while allies trigger Lunar reactions. Against a reference line of a Geo goblet, 70 percent CRIT Rate and 200 percent CRIT DMG, here is how the three candidates land. These are derived comparisons, not official figures.
| Set | What it adds | Relative damage |
|---|---|---|
| 4pc Nighttime Whispers | 18% ATK, 50% Geo DMG | Best, and the ATK is on top |
| 4pc Golden Troupe | 45% Elemental Skill DMG | About 2.6% behind, with no ATK |
| 4pc Night of the Sky's Unveiling | 80 EM (dead), up to 30% CRIT Rate | About 7.3% behind at best |
And Night of the Sky's Unveiling has a condition most guides skip. Its 30 percent tier needs the party at Ascendant Gleam, which requires two Moonsign characters, not one. With a single enabler you sit at Nascent Gleam and the set gives only 15 percent CRIT Rate, falling roughly 19 percent behind Nighttime Whispers.
No 4-piece yet? Run 2-piece Nighttime Whispers with 2-piece Archaic Petra for 18 percent ATK and 15 percent Geo damage. Main stats are ATK percent sands, Geo damage goblet, CRIT circlet. Her ascension stat is CRIT DMG, reaching plus 38.4 percent at the sixth ascension, so most builds want CRIT Rate on the circlet. Our artifact reshaping guide covers which rolls are worth converting.
Which weapon should Navia use?
Verdict, her signature claymore, rewritten for the Lunar era in the same pass as her skill. Its passive gives 20 percent ATK at R1 and grants a Seal worth 18 percent Elemental Skill damage when party members obtain Crystallize shards "or trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions", up to 2 Seals, all cleared 0.2 seconds after her skill deals damage. It carries the same throttle: "Up to 1 Seal may be obtained every second through the Lunar-Crystallize reaction."
That is the quiet payoff of the three-second rule. The gap that refills Crystal Shrapnel to three also refills both Verdict Seals, since two Seals only needs two seconds. One timing habit maxes two systems.
Without Verdict, Serpent Spine from the Battle Pass is still the best value for her — 6 percent extra damage every 4 seconds on field up to 5 stacks, which is 30 percent, on a CRIT Rate secondary. Beacon of the Reed Sea is the strongest 5-star alternative, stacking 20 percent ATK from her skill hitting and 20 percent more from taking damage. Ignore its 32 percent Max HP clause; it does nothing for her.
What are the best Navia teams?
There are two shells in Version 7.1, and the constraint that shapes both is Mutual Assistance Network. It caps at two Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro teammates, and Lunar-Crystallize forces one of those two slots to be Hydro.
Shell one — Columbina. Columbina is Hydro, so she is simultaneously the converter, the Hydro applier and one of your two ATK stacks. One body does three jobs, which leaves two genuinely free slots: one more Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro character to finish the ATK cap, then anything you like. Our Columbina build guide covers her side of the team.
Shell two — Zibai or Linnea plus a separate Hydro. Both are Geo, so they convert but contribute nothing to Mutual Assistance Network, and you now need a dedicated Hydro applier. That fills three slots, and the last one must be Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro to reach the ATK cap. Zero flexibility.
So why run shell two? Because two Geo characters switch on Enduring Rock, and Elemental Resonance was rewritten for Lunar reactions in the same pass as Navia's skill. Enduring Rock now triggers "when characters protected by a shield or when Moondrifts formed by Lunar-Crystallize reactions are nearby", granting 15 percent increased damage and a 20 percent Geo resistance shred for 15 seconds. A Lunar-Crystallize team gets the full package with no shielder at all.
Against a standard 10 percent resistance enemy, a 20 percent shred takes resistance to minus 10 percent, and because Genshin halves negative resistance the multiplier moves from 0.90 to 1.05 — a 16.7 percent gain. Stack the resonance's own 15 percent and shell two is worth roughly 34 percent more damage than shell one, derived. For Columbina's free slot to break even, whatever you put in it has to beat that. Usually it does not. A second Moonsign body also pushes you to Ascendant Gleam, the only state in which Night of the Sky's Unveiling reaches its advertised numbers.
Which Navia constellation should you take before 2 November?
This is the part with a deadline. Navia was added to the permanently available Stella Fortuna redemption rewards in the "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" event, which runs until 2 November 2026 at 03:59 server time. If you own her and you have banked weekly goals, you can take a constellation for free, and the three-stack analysis tells you which one.
C2, The President's Pursuit of Victory, is the pick for most players. Plus 12 percent CRIT Rate per stack consumed to a maximum of 36 percent is a full circlet's worth of CRIT Rate inside a three-stack cast you are firing anyway, plus a free Cannon Fire Support shot.
C1 is the energy fix — 3 Energy per stack and 1 second off her burst cooldown per stack, capped at 9 Energy and 3 seconds. Take it only if your rotation is genuinely starved. C4 shreds 20 percent Geo resistance for 8 seconds on burst hit, excellent but overlapping with Enduring Rock in shell two. C3 and C5 are talent levels. C6 rewrites the rotation, and nobody is redeeming their way to it. Check our October 2026 banner schedule before you spend anything — Navia is not on a Version 7.1 banner, so Stella Fortuna is the only route to her constellations right now.
What should you farm for Navia?
Talent books are Equity, from the Pale Forgotten Glory domain on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Her weekly boss material is Lightless Silk String from the All-Devouring Narwhal at World Level 70 and above, and her common drops are Transoceanic Pearls and Chunks plus Xenochromatic Crystals.
Full ascension costs 420,000 Mora, 46 Artificed Spare Clockwork Components from Coppelius, the complete Prithiva Topaz chain and 168 Springs of the First Dewdrop. Taking a single talent from level 1 to 10 costs 1,652,500 Mora on its own, so budget three talents accordingly. Priority is Elemental Skill first by a wide margin, then Burst, then Normal Attack last; our Crown of Insight guide covers where this patch's crowns come from.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Navia still good in Version 7.1? Yes, and arguably better than at any point since release. Her skill now accepts Lunar-Crystallize as a stack source, Nighttime Whispers and Verdict both accept nearby Moondrifts as a trigger, and Enduring Rock resonance works off Moondrifts with no shielder. Four separate pieces of her build picked up Lunar clauses in the same pass.
Should Navia fire at three stacks or six? Three, unless you have Constellation 6. Shardshot count, C1's energy refund and C2's CRIT Rate all stop scaling at three stacks, so two three-stack casts out-damage one six-stack cast by at least 38 percent. C6 returns the stacks past the first three and adds 45 percent CRIT DMG each, which flips the answer to six.
Do you need a Lunar-Crystallize enabler to play Navia? No. Ordinary Crystallize still grants her stacks exactly as it always did, with Pyro, Electro, Cryo or Hydro. The Lunar route is a consistency upgrade, not a requirement. Only Linnea, Zibai and Columbina can enable it, and all three are limited 5-stars.
What is the best free-to-play Navia weapon? Serpent Spine from the Battle Pass, at 6 percent damage per 4 seconds on field up to 5 stacks on a CRIT Rate secondary. Failing that, any 4-star claymore with a CRIT secondary and an ATK passive works; her damage comes from the shardshot count, not the weapon.
Which Navia constellation is best value right now? C2, for its 36 percent CRIT Rate inside a cast you are already making. She is on the Stella Fortuna redemption roster until 2 November 2026 at 03:59, so banked weekly goals can buy it outright.
