Odette has two separate ATK thresholds printed in her own talent text, and they stop in different places. Every Odette guide tells you to stack ATK. None of them tell you where ATK stops paying for your team and starts paying only for her. That gap is the whole build — along with three dated deadlines inside the next five days, one of them hours away.
Quick answer: Build Odette as an off-field Cryo enabler with ATK% Sands, ATK% Goblet, CRIT Circlet and 4-piece Heart of the Furnace. Cryo DMG Bonus does nothing for her, so never use a Cryo Goblet. Her team-facing passive caps at 2,000 ATK and her personal one at 3,000 ATK — past 2,000, extra ATK only helps her own damage. Skip her Burst and skip Energy Recharge. Her signature Whitelake Frostfeather is not on the current weapon banner; Azurelight, which is, has a condition her optimal playstyle never meets.
What does Odette actually do in Genshin Impact?
Odette Spessiva is a 5-star Cryo Sword character from Snezhnaya, released 12 August 2026 in Version 7.0. HoYoverse's talent summary calls her "a Cryo character with both off-field DPS and support capabilities" who "can also enable the party to trigger Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl reactions."
That enabling clause is the important half. She does not hold a Vision — her wish card reads Stellar Linchpin: Cryo — and that Linchpin grants her a Stellar Jubilee Passive, Dance of Aurore, which converts two ordinary reactions into upgraded forms. Superconduct becomes Stellar-Conduct. Cryo Swirl becomes Stellar Swirl. One passive does both, which is why framing these as a choice between two builds is a false premise, and why she earns her slot even if you own only one of the two reaction cores. Our Stellar-Conduct versus Stellar Swirl breakdown covers the split.
Her Elemental Skill, Adagio: Phantom Night Dancers, deals AoE Cryo damage and summons a Solo Dance Double that persists 20 seconds, attacking on its own while she sits in the back. For six seconds after casting it, the Skill becomes Adagio: Coda at Dawn's Tolling, a duet ending in a burst of Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl damage, on a 15-second cooldown her Burst cannot reset. Cast, cast again, swap out — that is the whole rotation.
What ATK should you actually build Odette to?
Here are the two numbers, verbatim from her talents.
Dance of Aurore increases the Base DMG of the converted reaction by 0.7% for every 100 points of Odette's ATK, to a maximum of 14%. Fourteen divided by 0.7 is twenty, so that caps at 2,000 ATK. This one is team-facing: it raises the reaction floor for whoever triggers it.
Pathetique of Pateticheskaya, her 4th Ascension passive, adds 1.5% of the original damage for every 100 ATK above 1,000, up to 30%. Thirty divided by 1.5 is twenty, plus the 1,000 floor, so that caps at 3,000 ATK. KQM notes this multiplier applies to her own direct Stellar damage only — it does nothing for the reactions your DPS triggers.
Now the arithmetic. Odette's base ATK at level 90 is 334.85. Whitelake Frostfeather at 90 adds 674, giving a scaling pool of 1,009 — so an unbuilt Odette holding a 5-star sword sits at one notch of her 4th Ascension passive's twenty-step ladder, and half of Dance of Aurore's.
A realistic C0 build stacks ATK% Sands (46.6%), ATK% Goblet (46.6%), 18% from two-piece Heart of the Furnace and 24% from a refinement-1 Whitelake at three stacks. That is 135.2% on a 1,009 pool, about 2,373, and ordinary substats plus the four-piece bonus push a well-rolled build to roughly 2,500 ATK.
So Dance of Aurore is maxed and about a third of her 4th Ascension passive is still on the table. That is the decision rule nobody prints. Below 2,000 ATK every point does two jobs; above 2,000 it does one — hers. If she is the quiet enabler behind someone else's carry, stop at 2,000 and pour the rest into CRIT. If her own Coda hits are a real share of your team total, keep climbing. Constellation 2 finishes the ladder: 7% ATK per Marvelous Splendor stack, 42% at six stacks, another ~424 ATK on that pool.
What are Odette's best artifacts and main stats?
4-piece Heart of the Furnace is the default — a Version 7.0 set from the Inverted Glacier domain whose four-piece reads, in HoYoverse's wording, that triggering a Stellar Glimmer reaction or dealing Stellar Glimmer reaction damage "increases Stellar Glimmer reaction DMG dealt by all nearby party members by 50%." That party-wide clause is why she wants it when nobody else on the team is holding it.
KQM's alternatives, in order: 4-piece Disenchantment in Deep Shadow for more personal damage if a teammate already holds Heart of the Furnace; 4-piece A Day Carved From Rising Winds or Blizzard Strayer as placeholders; 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith when buffing the team outbids her own damage. Two-piece ATK% combinations are fine while farming.
Main stats are ATK% Sands, ATK% Goblet, CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG Circlet, priority CRIT over ATK% over Elemental Mastery.
The Goblet is where most accounts go wrong. Cryo DMG Bonus does not increase Stellar Glimmer damage at all. Her damage is reaction damage, and an element-specific bonus does not touch it — a Cryo Goblet on Odette is a dead main stat. Her Ascension stat is already CRIT DMG 38.4% at maximum ascension, so a CRIT Rate circlet usually balances her ratio better than more CRIT DMG.
Which weapon is best — and is Azurelight worth pulling?
Her signature is Whitelake Frostfeather, a 5-star sword at 674 base ATK and 22.1% CRIT Rate at level 90. Snow Swan's Finale grants a stacking 8% ATK at refinement 1 up to three independent stacks, and at three stacks adds 50% CRIT DMG to her Stellar Glimmer reaction damage plus 4 Energy every 3.5 seconds. All of it works off-field, which is the only place she stands.
It is not on the current weapon banner. The Epitome Invocation running 13 October 18:00 to 3 November 14:59 server time promotes Azurelight (Sword) and Symphonist of Scents (Polearm), per the in-game event notice. Which raises the obvious question, and the answer is no.
Azurelight gives 24% ATK within 12 seconds of an Elemental Skill, then doubles that and adds 40% CRIT DMG only while the holder has 0 Energy. Odette's optimal line is to skip her Burst entirely — KQM is explicit that bursting "tends to extend rotations, resulting in less damage overall" and that she is not worth building Energy Recharge for. A character who never spends her Energy is never at zero, so the better half of that weapon is dead on her standard build. At C4 or above, where her Burst becomes worth casting, the window right after it qualifies — a narrow carve-out, not a reason to pull.
Azurelight is therefore a stat stick on Odette, exactly as KQM files it among generic 5-star CRIT swords. If you want it for Skirk, whose rerun shares those dates, that is a separate and better argument — see our Skirk build guide and the full 7.1 weapon rundown.
Four-star options, ranked by KQM: Finale of the Deep is her best if you can clear its Bond of Life condition, and strong even if you cannot; Emberwell only beats it with Bond of Life uncleared and its passive live; Heretic's Molten Blade works because her Skill teleports her onto the enemy. Aquila Favonia is a solid 5-star alternative for its base ATK and unconditional ATK buff.
One correction, because it came up twice in player threads this week: Exaiphanes Blade does nothing special on Odette. Its Traveler's Path passive begins "When the Traveler equips this" — the whole effect is gated to the Traveler. On Odette it is 5-star stat lines and nothing else, which is precisely how KQM files it.
Should you grab Silver Light before the event closes?
Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon ends at 03:59 on 12 October 2026 on your own server clock — roughly three hours away on Asia, ten on Europe and sixteen on America as this publishes. Its reward track holds the 4-star sword Silver Light, a Crown of Insight, and four Tea-Scented Tassel refinement materials, the only way to refine it. Entry needs Adventure Rank 20 and Prologue Act III.
Silver Light is 510 base ATK with 41.3% ATK at level 90, and Radiance on the Water grants 52 Elemental Mastery for 12 seconds after an Elemental Skill, up to two independent stacks — 104 EM at refinement 1, on a character whose whole rotation is two Skill casts.
Players in this week's weapon threads recommended it for Odette. KQM's list does not mention it at all. Both positions hold: it has no CRIT, her top priority, but it carries her second priority as a main substat and her third as a passive, and it is free. Our read — a genuine upgrade over a 4-star you had no plan for, not a reason to shelve Finale of the Deep, and since refinement becomes impossible after tonight, finishing the event is the only part of this decision still open. Note it is an event reward and has never been on a wish banner, despite several large sites filing it inside their 7.1 weapon-banner round-ups.
What are Odette's best teams in Version 7.1?
The template is Odette, an Electro unit, a Cryo carry, flex. The Electro slot is mandatory in Stellar-Conduct teams because it triggers the reaction and establishes the Polestar Field; Yae Miko, Alyosha and Beidou all serve. The carry is usually Sandrone, Cryo Traveler or Wriothesley.
| Team | Role of the flex slot | Sample rotation |
|---|---|---|
| Odette, Yae Miko, Sandrone, Qiqi or Escoffier | Healing plus buffs; C6 Diona adds 200 EM and a Stellar bonus | Yae three Skills, Odette two Skills, flex Skill, Sandrone combo |
| Odette, Yae Miko, Cryo Traveler, Qiqi or Sucrose | Sucrose for resistance shred and team EM | Yae three Skills, Odette Skill then Skill, flex, Traveler combo |
| Odette, Yae Miko, Wriothesley, Beidou C6 or Xilonen | Off-field damage and support | Yae three Skills, Odette two Skills, flex, Wriothesley combo |
Escoffier is a strong flex pick, and her rerun starts on the same 13 October date as the weapon banner. She brings Cryo resistance shred, off-field Cryo application and healing — but she does not buff Stellar-Conduct directly, worth knowing before you pull for her on Odette's behalf. Our Escoffier build guide has her full kit.
KQM's Energy Recharge requirements, assuming one Skill per Burst and no Favonius in the party: Solo Cryo with Cyno 175 to 195%, Double Cryo with Cyno 145 to 150%, Double Cryo 195 to 220%, Triple Cryo 140 to 185%. With her signature those drop to 100 to 145%. The practical conclusion is to chase none of them before C4 — burst every other rotation, or not at all.
Why is the 16 October Spiral Abyss her best one yet?
The new Abyss season goes live on 16 October. Floor 12's first-half Ley Line Disorder reads, in the update notice, "Characters' Stellar Glimmer DMG increased by 75%"; the second half gives the party a 75% Cryo DMG Bonus. Floor 11 stacks a 60% Anemo bonus and a 60% Cryo bonus — the two elements of Stellar Swirl. The Blessing of the Abyssal Moon, Stardread Moon, fires a True DMG shockwave every two seconds when a character triggers Superconduct, Stellar-Conduct, Cryo Swirl, Stellar Swirl, Frozen or Shatter, or deals Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl damage.
The honest version of that last point: the blessing lists both pre- and post-conversion reactions, so Odette does not unlock it. What she does is add the upgraded damage on top. Our Floor 12 guide covers the chambers.
There is also a reason to distrust any Odette damage figure dated before 23 September. Version 7.1's patch notes list, verbatim: "Fixes an issue whereby DMG dealt by the Stellar Swirl reaction could occasionally fail to include Cryo characters involved in the reaction in its calculations." Odette is the Cryo character in Stellar Swirl. Testing before that fix systematically understated the exact contribution she exists to make.
One more date: Cryo is a required element in the Imaginarium Theater season running from 1 October. From 1 November she becomes a Special Guest Star instead, doubling her buff effects, though Cryo leaves the required list the same day. Both windows are in our Imaginarium Theater guide.
What do her materials and constellations cost?
Levelling Odette from no ascension to maximum needs 420,000 Mora, 1 Shivada Jade Sliver, 9 Fragments, 9 Chunks and 6 Gemstones, 46 Unscorched Blossom Branch, 168 Frostfairy Flower, and 18 Ethereal Glimmershard, 30 Ethereal Crystal and 36 Ethereal Crystalscale Stone. Each talent taken to 10 needs its books and a Crown of Insight — and since she never uses Normal Attacks, that talent never earns a crown. Skill first; Burst only if you actually intend to cast it. Our Crown of Insight guide lists every current source.
Constellation value order: C2 first for 42% team ATK and 20% resistance shred on both reaction elements, then C4, which extends half her Burst buff to the party and adds a coordinated attack every 3.5 seconds, then C6, which stops her Marvelous Splendor stacks draining and adds 25% Stellar Glimmer damage for everyone plus 20% more for her. C1 and C3 are modest; C5 only matters once C4 has made her Burst worth pressing.
Two things this guide does not claim. The Stellar Glimmer damage coefficients and Elemental Mastery curves in circulation are community-derived from frame testing, not published by HoYoverse — the ATK thresholds above come from in-game talent text, the damage model built on them does not. And 2,500 ATK is an illustrative figure with the main stats and assumptions stated above, not your number; roll quality moves it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Odette worth building if I do not have a Stellar team? Not much. KQM lists exactly one con for her and it is "loses significant value outside of Stellar teams." Her conversion passive has nothing to convert without a Cryo plus Electro or Anemo plus Cryo core. Build the second Stellar character first.
Should Odette use her Elemental Burst? Before C4, usually not — long animation, underwhelming damage, and it cannot reset the Skill cooldown that actually gates her rotation. At C4 and above it extends a buff to the whole party, which earns the field time.
What is the best free weapon for Odette? Finale of the Deep, craftable and still one of her strongest 4-stars even without clearing its Bond of Life condition. Silver Light is a reasonable second if you finish the Silverwing event before it closes on 12 October.
Does Odette need Elemental Mastery? Some, but third in line behind CRIT and ATK%. Her 4th Ascension passive scales on ATK, not EM, which is why ATK% outranks it.
Can Odette trigger Stellar Swirl on her own? No. She converts Cryo Swirl into Stellar Swirl, which still needs an Anemo unit to swirl her Cryo, and converts Superconduct into Stellar-Conduct, which needs Electro. She is the upgrade, not the trigger.
The short version
ATK% Sands, ATK% Goblet, CRIT circlet, four-piece Heart of the Furnace, never a Cryo Goblet. Level her Skill, leave her Normal Attack at one, ignore Energy Recharge until C4. Then decide what she is for: a pure enabler stops at 2,000 ATK and pours the rest into CRIT, while a damage-contributing Odette climbs toward 3,000 and wants C2 to get there.
Then watch three dates. The Silverwing event and its free sword close at 03:59 on 12 October. The weapon banner that is not carrying her signature opens 13 October. The Abyss that hands her mechanic a 75% damage bonus opens 16 October. Build her this week, not next.
