ZZZ Characters: All 60 Playable Agents (Version 3.2, Roxy Live)

Most character lists for this game are wrong in the same two ways. They miscount the roster, and they flatten the Attribute column into the five starting elements as if nothing has shipped since launch. Both mistakes have the same root cause, and both are easy to check.

This page is the corrected version, rebuilt on the day Version 3.2 Phase II opened.

Quick answer: Zenless Zone Zero has 60 playable Agents as of 2026-09-30, the day Roxy's channel went live. That breaks down as 46 S-Rank, 13 A-Rank, and 1 I-Rank. They are spread across 10 Attributes, 7 Specialties, and 20 Factions. The newest additions are Roxy (Wind, Stun) and Claret Flint (Electric, Armorer), both from Version 3.2. Two new Agents per version is the normal rate: 14 of the game's 20 versions shipped exactly two, five shipped three, and Version 1.0 shipped 17.

How many characters are in Zenless Zone Zero right now?

Sixty playable Agents, counted the morning Roxy's Exclusive Channel opened.

The number moves today because Version 3.2 Phase II went live at 12:00 server time on 2026-09-30. HoYoverse announced it plainly on the official community post for the Phase II content overview:

"Hey, Proxies! Version 3.2 is now live! S-Rank Agents Roxy (Wind - Stun) and Promeia (Ice - Anomaly), along with S-Rank W-Engines Crimson Moon Casket (Stun) and Frostfall Sickle (Anomaly), are now available in the limited-time channels!"

That is the official Version 3.2 Phase II content overview on HoYoLAB, published 2026-09-30 at 12:15 UTC+8. Promeia is a rerun, so she does not change the count. Roxy is a debut, so she does.

Where other lists go wrong is the rank split. The honest breakdown is:

RankAgentsNotes
S-Rank46Almost all obtainable only through a Signal Search channel
A-Rank13The launch-era support cast, all farmable
I-Rank1Pyrois, and only Pyrois
Total playable60As of Version 3.2 Phase II, 2026-09-30

Pyrois is the first trap. He is an I-Rank Agent, a rank category with exactly one member, introduced in Version 2.7 and released in Version 3.0. He is playable, he is Ether Attack, he belongs to Phaethon, and he has never had an Exclusive Channel. Pages that lump him in with the S-Ranks report 47 S-Rank Agents instead of 46, and pages that quietly drop him because he does not fit the rank filter report 59 Agents instead of 60. Checking how a list files Pyrois takes about four seconds and tells you whether anyone maintains it.

Pyrois, the only I-Rank Agent in Zenless Zone Zero

Norma Hollowell is the second trap, and it catches more lists than Pyrois does. She is a released, playable S-Rank Fire Stun Agent of the External Strategy Department, introduced in Version 2.5 and released on 2026-07-08. The reason she goes missing is that she did not arrive with a version launch. Version 3.0 went live on 2026-06-17 with Velina Airgid and Pyrois; Norma landed three weeks later, in the middle of the same version. Tools and templates that build a roster by reading "released in version" tags tend to have no tag for her at all, so she falls out of the count silently. That is the single most common reason you will see 59 quoted instead of 60.

This is the whole roster in release order, which is also the most useful order: it shows you what the game looked like when each of your friends quit, and it shows you how the design has drifted.

Two things jump out of that column of version numbers. Version 1.0 shipped 17 Agents in one go, which is 28 percent of the entire current roster delivered on day one. And ever since, the rate has sat on two per version with an occasional third.

How fast does the roster actually grow?

Two per version is the rule, three is the exception, and the exception is not rare enough to ignore.

New Agents in the versionHow many versionsWhich versions
1711.0
351.1, 1.6, 2.0, 2.3, 3.0
2141.2 to 1.5, 1.7, 2.1, 2.2, 2.4 to 2.8, 3.1, 3.2

Across the 20 live versions that is 60 Agents, and the longest unbroken run of two-Agent versions is five: 2.4 through 2.8. Version 3.0 broke it with three. If you are budgeting Polychrome, plan against two debuts per version but keep headroom for a third, because a third has landed five times and most recently one version family ago. Our ZZZ Polychrome farming guide works out what a cycle actually costs.

The more useful thing hiding in that table is when inside a version an Agent arrives. Version 3.0's third Agent, Norma Hollowell, released 2026-07-08, three weeks after the version itself. Roxy did the same thing today: Version 3.2 went live 2026-09-09, and her channel only opened 2026-09-30. Roughly half of all debuts land in a version's second half, which is why a roster page that is only rebuilt on patch day is wrong for about half of every version's life.

Zenless Zone Zero characters by Attribute

There are 10 Attributes, not five. This is where nearly every stale roster page falls over, because four of those Attributes have exactly one Agent in them.

AttributeAgentsWho
Electric13Tied deepest, from Anby to Claret Flint
Physical13Tied deepest, spread across every Specialty except Armorer
Fire12Stun-heavy, and two of the five Ruptures
Ice8Ellen Joe through Sigrid de L'Azur
Ether8Includes Pyrois, the lone I-Rank
Wind2Velina Airgid and Roxy Ifrita Pryce
Frost1Hoshimi Miyabi
Lumiflux1Remielle Dan
Honed Edge1Ye Shunguang
Auric Ink1Yixuan

The pattern is deliberate and it is worth naming: HoYoverse ships bespoke single-occupant Attributes for headline S-Ranks. Frost, Lumiflux, Honed Edge and Auric Ink each exist for exactly one Agent. Miyabi got Frost in 1.4, Yixuan got Auric Ink in 2.0, Ye Shunguang got Honed Edge in 2.5, Remielle Dan got Lumiflux in 3.1. None of them has been given a second occupant, and the oldest of those has been alone for over a year and a half of patches.

The four single-occupant Attributes in Zenless Zone Zero: Frost, Auric Ink, Honed Edge and Lumiflux

Wind is the scarcest Attribute that is not a one-off. It has two Agents, both S-Rank, both shipped in Version 3.x: Velina Airgid in 3.0 as a Wind Anomaly, and Roxy in 3.2 as the first Wind Stun. If you pulled Velina and have been waiting for a Wind partner to build around, today is the day that partner arrived, and our ZZZ Roxy build guide covers her W-Engine and Drive Disc lines now that her numbers are published.

Zenless Zone Zero characters by Specialty

Seven Specialties. The distribution is lopsided in a way that explains a lot of team-building pain.

SpecialtyAgentsRead
Attack17Massively oversupplied
Anomaly12Tied second, Attribute-diverse
Stun12Tied second, and Roxy just widened it into Wind
Support8The real bottleneck for most accounts
Rupture5Young Specialty, still thin
Defense5Five Agents in 20 versions
Armorer1Claret Flint, and nobody else

Armorer has exactly one Agent in the entire game. Claret Flint arrived in Version 3.2 as an Electric Armorer and is currently the whole category. Armorer W-Engines scale off Base DEF rather than Base ATK, which means the Specialty's gear ecosystem is also being built around a single character for now.

The other number to sit with is 17 Attack Agents against 8 Support Agents. More than one in four Agents is an Attack unit, and fewer than one in seven is a Support. If your Shiyu Defense runs keep stalling, it is very often the Support slot rather than the damage slot, and the ZZZ best teams guide is built around that constraint.

Claret Flint, the only Armorer Specialty Agent in Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero characters by Faction

Twenty Factions cover 60 Agents, so the average Faction has exactly three members. That matters mechanically, because many Agents have Core Skill conditions that check for a same-Faction squadmate.

Five Factions have a single Agent, which means a Faction-conditional passive on any of those five cannot currently be satisfied at all. Flint Workshop went from zero to two in a single version: Claret Flint and Roxy are both Flint Workshop, and they landed in 3.2 together. External Strategy Department did the same thing inside Version 3.0, gaining Velina Airgid at launch and Norma Hollowell three weeks later.

Which characters are worth pulling?

That is a different question from "who exists," and it moves every patch, so it lives on its own page. The short version as of Version 3.2: the roster is deep enough in Attack that a new Attack S-Rank has to be exceptional to matter, while a new Support or a new Stun unit in an underserved Attribute changes more teams. Roxy is the second case.

For current placements, the ZZZ tier list ranks the Agents and the ZZZ W-Engine tier list ranks what you put on them. If you are deciding whether to wait for a rerun rather than pull now, ZZZ banner history has the measured rerun gaps.

FAQ

How many playable characters does Zenless Zone Zero have? 60 as of 2026-09-30, the day Version 3.2 Phase II opened. That is 46 S-Rank, 13 A-Rank and 1 I-Rank. If a list tells you 59, it has almost certainly dropped Norma Hollowell, who released mid-version on 2026-07-08 rather than on a version launch day.

Is Pyrois an S-Rank Agent? No. Pyrois is the game's only I-Rank Agent, an Ether Attack unit from the Phaethon faction, introduced in Version 2.7 and released in Version 3.0. He has never appeared in an Exclusive Channel. Any roster list that reports 47 S-Ranks has filed him in the wrong bucket.

Which Attributes only have one character? Four of them. Frost belongs to Hoshimi Miyabi alone, Lumiflux to Remielle Dan, Honed Edge to Ye Shunguang, and Auric Ink to Yixuan. Wind is next-rarest with two, Velina Airgid and Roxy. None of the four single-occupant Attributes has ever been given a second Agent.

How many new characters does each version add? Two, most of the time. Fourteen of the 20 live versions shipped exactly two new Agents, five shipped three (1.1, 1.6, 2.0, 2.3 and 3.0), and Version 1.0 shipped 17. The longest run of two-Agent versions is five, from 2.4 to 2.8.

Can I get every S-Rank character for free? No. HoYoverse states in the Version 3.2 Phase II channel notice that limited S-Rank Agents "will not become available in the Star-Studded Cast Stable Channel," so limited units are only obtainable while their Exclusive Channel is running or during a later rerun. A-Rank Agents are the farmable tier.

Who is the newest character in Zenless Zone Zero? Roxy, full name Roxy Ifrita Pryce, an S-Rank Wind Stun Agent from the Flint Workshop faction. Her Exclusive Channel, Cindernight Respite, opened 2026-09-30 at 12:00 server time and runs to 2026-10-20 at 14:59 server time. Her Core Passive is Warm Night's Embrace and her signature W-Engine is Crimson Moon Casket. She is the first Wind Stun Agent in the game.

Keeping this page honest

The roster total moves on every Agent debut, and the Attribute, Specialty and Faction tables move with it. The failure mode we designed this page against is the one described above: rebuilding only on patch day, and inheriting a roster from tags that miss mid-version arrivals. So every count here was recomputed from each Agent's own release date rather than from a version tag, on 2026-09-30, the day Roxy released, and cross-checked against HoYoverse's own Version 3.2 Phase II notice on HoYoLAB. We refresh this page when an Agent releases, not when a version launches, and we update the counts in place rather than publishing a second list.
