Quick answer (checked 7 November 2026): Dead by Daylight Mobile no longer exists. NetEase pulled it from the App Store and Google Play on 16 January 2025 and switched the servers off on 20 March 2025. There is no official mobile download, and any APK on a download site is the old client that can't connect. To play Dead by Daylight on a phone today, you stream the full PC/console game: Xbox Cloud Gaming (included with Game Pass Ultimate and Premium, controller only), GeForce NOW (your Steam or Epic copy), Steam Link from your own PC, or PS Remote Play from your PlayStation. Behaviour has not announced a replacement mobile game.
If you searched for "Dead by Daylight Mobile" and landed on a page of APK mirrors, that's the problem this guide fixes. Those sites still list a download for a game that has been offline for more than a year and a half. Below you'll find what NetEase actually announced, what happened to Mobile purchases and progress, and which ways of playing DBD on a phone still work in November 2026 (live build Patch 10.2.2a), with the limits that matter for each.
This is also the question a fresh r/deadbydaylight thread asked on 7 November. The original poster said they'd "heard it has better skins and can chat ingame" but never got to play it before it closed. So the short history is worth getting right first.
Is Dead by Daylight Mobile shut down?
Yes, permanently. The global Dead by Daylight Mobile was a separate free-to-play game run by NetEase Games, with Behaviour Interactive (BHVR) as its partner on the PC and console game. On 18 December 2024 the Mobile team posted the closure notice. The key line, verbatim:
"Due to ongoing shifts in NetEase Games' development and operational strategies, the decision has been made to end service for Dead by Daylight Mobile as of March 20th, 2025." (Dead by Daylight Mobile team, official announcement, 18 December 2024)
The same notice set out three dates, and all three have passed:
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| 18 December 2024 | Closure announced; Welcome Package claims open |
| 16 January 2025 | Removed from the App Store and Google Play; in-game purchases stop |
| 20 March 2025 | Servers shut down; the game can't be played at all |
The official site that carried the notice, dbdmobile.com, doesn't even resolve any more (checked 7 November 2026). The text survives on the Internet Archive, which is the copy linked above.
Why can't you just keep an old install? NetEase answered that in the notice's FAQ: "Dead by Daylight Mobile requires a connection to our servers in order to play. Players with the game still installed after March 20th, 2025 will be unable to play." An install from 2024 opens to nothing.
Can I still download Dead by Daylight Mobile?
Not officially. It hasn't been in either store since 16 January 2025, and NetEase warned that deleting the game or changing phones after that date meant "you will not be able to download it again".
The pages ranking for "dead by daylight mobile download" today are APK mirrors (Uptodown, Aptoide, Softonic, APKMirror, APKPure). Whatever file they serve is one of two things:
- The real old client. It installs and then can't reach the servers, for the reason NetEase gave above.
- A modified build that claims to work. That's an unofficial file from an unknown source, not BHVR or NetEase. We don't recommend putting one on a phone that holds your accounts.
Neither gets you into the real game. The four routes further down do.
What happened to my Dead by Daylight Mobile purchases and progress?
Mobile was its own game with its own accounts. Progress never carried over to PC or console, and Mobile was never part of DBD cross-play. What players got instead was a one-time Welcome Package for the full game, claimed from inside Mobile before 20 March 2025.
The base gift for every claimant was 500,000 Bloodpoints and 2,250 Iridescent Shards. On top of that came loyalty tiers. Spend tiers, verbatim from the notice:
| Spent in DBD Mobile (USD) | Auric Cells | Iridescent Shards |
|---|---|---|
| $0.01 to $4.99 | 150 | 1,800 |
| $5.00 to $9.99 | 300 | 3,600 |
| $10.00 to $29.99 | 600 | 10,800 |
| $30.00 to $49.99 | 1,000 | 18,000 |
| $50.00 to $99.99 | 2,000 | 35,640 |
| $100.00 to $149.99 | 3,000 | 54,000 |
| $150.00 to $199.99 | 4,000 | 72,000 |
| $200 or more | 5,000 | 108,000 |
And extra Bloodpoints by Mobile XP:
| Mobile player level (total XP) | Extra Bloodpoints |
|---|---|
| Level 2 to 15 (720 to 27,419 XP) | 500,000 |
| Level 16 to 25 (27,420 to 55,619 XP) | 1,000,000 |
| Level 26 to 39 (55,620 to 104,519 XP) | 1,500,000 |
| Level 40+ (104,520 XP or more) | 2,000,000 |
So the biggest possible package was 5,000 Auric Cells, 110,250 Shards and 2.5 million Bloodpoints. Claiming needed a Behaviour Account and a copy of DBD you'd launched at least once.
Can you still claim it? No. The only way in was a link inside the Mobile client, and the notice set the deadline as "claim your rewards before 03/20/2025". With the client offline, there's no route left.
Refunds depended on region, per the notice: Taiwan from 16 January to 19 April 2025, South Korea and Japan from 20 March to 26 June 2025, and the EU, EEA, Switzerland and UK under the standard 14-day withdrawal right on certain transactions. Everywhere else: "Refunds for past purchases are not available." All of those windows have closed.

How can I play Dead by Daylight on my phone in 2026?
You stream the full game. Every option below runs the real PC or console version, the one on Patch 10.2.2a now, with the Terrifier Chapter dated 24 November 2026 on Behaviour's chapters page, and draws its picture on your phone.
| Option | What you need | Do you need to own DBD? | Controller? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | Game Pass Ultimate or Premium (Essential with a bought copy) | Not on Ultimate or Premium | Yes, Xbox lists controller only |
| GeForce NOW | NVIDIA GeForce NOW account | Yes, on Steam or Epic | Recommended |
| Steam Link | Your own PC running Steam | Yes, on Steam | Recommended |
| PS Remote Play | Your own PS4 or PS5 | Yes, on PlayStation | Recommended |
Xbox Cloud Gaming
This is the only route where you don't have to buy the game. Microsoft's store page for Dead by Daylight, checked on 7 November 2026, says: "Cloud playable game included with XBOX Game Pass Premium and Ultimate. Game purchase required to stream with XBOX Game Pass Essential."
Two limits to know before you subscribe:
- Hours are capped. The same page lists 15 hours of cloud playtime a month for Ultimate and 10 hours a month for Premium. A DBD match plus queue time runs long, so 10 hours goes fast.
- There are no touch controls. The page data marks Dead by Daylight as "supportsTouch": false, with "Controller" as its only input. On a phone, you need a Bluetooth controller or a clip-on one.
Cloud play is the Xbox version of DBD, so you're in normal cross-play lobbies. Our DBD crossplay guide covers how platform matching works.
GeForce NOW
NVIDIA's public GeForce NOW game list (checked 7 November 2026) has Dead by Daylight as available and fully optimized in two versions: Steam and Epic Games Store. You sign in with the store account that owns the game and stream your own copy, Bloodweb and purchases included. A Microsoft Store copy isn't on that list, so don't count on it working through GeForce NOW.
The upside over Xbox is that you play your existing PC account, with your Killers, perks and cosmetics. If your Steam and console accounts are linked, see our cross-progression guide for what shows up where.
Steam Link from your own PC
If you already have a gaming PC, Valve's free Steam Link app streams your PC's screen to a phone over home Wi-Fi. You play your own Steam copy with nothing extra to pay. The catch is that the PC has to be on and running Steam. DBD is a chase game where a few frames decide a pallet stun, so a wired PC and 5 GHz Wi-Fi on the phone make a real difference.
PS Remote Play from your PlayStation
Sony's PS Remote Play app does the same job for a PS4 or PS5 copy: the console runs the game and the phone shows it. As with Steam Link, the console has to be on, and the connection decides how playable chases feel.
Is there a handheld way to play DBD without a phone?
Yes, two, if what you really want is DBD away from a desk:
- Nintendo Switch. DBD is on Switch and in cross-play, but BHVR's support site warns that Switch "will get the Release Update approximately two days after other platforms". During those gaps, Switch players only match each other.
- Steam Deck. Valve's compatibility report for the Steam version, checked 7 November 2026, rates Dead by Daylight Steam Deck Verified: controls, on-screen text and default performance all pass. One flag from Valve: external controllers aren't supported for the primary player.
Will Dead by Daylight Mobile come back?
There's no announcement. We searched BHVR's last 400 Steam news posts, back to September 2020. The only time Mobile comes up as a product is a May 2023 post saying DBD's world had "already expanded to include a mobile game, board game, and Hooked on You". No relaunch, no new mobile project, no beta sign-up.
We found no BHVR or NetEase statement announcing a return. Fan threads in r/DeadByDaylightMobile that speculate about one aren't announcements. If a mobile version is ever announced, it will come through BHVR's own channels. For what's actually confirmed, our DBD roadmap tracks every dated item.
One official DBD tool does work on a phone: BHVR's Stats Tracker at stats.deadbydaylight.com. Its June 2025 launch post called it "available now on desktop and mobile". It shows your own match stats from the full game, so you can check your numbers between sessions.
What did DBD Mobile have that the main game doesn't?
This is what the 7 November Reddit thread was really asking. Its poster had heard Mobile "has better skins and can chat ingame". We can't confirm Mobile's feature list from a BHVR or NetEase source that's still online, so we won't list exclusives here.
The verifiable difference is simpler. Mobile was free-to-play and had its own store and currency (refunds were handled by NetEase, not BHVR). The full game is a paid purchase with Bloodpoints, Iridescent Shards and Auric Cells. If you're moving over now, the Shrine of Secrets guide shows the cheapest way to pick up teachable perks with Shards.

FAQ
Is Dead by Daylight Mobile still playable in 2026? No. NetEase shut the servers down on 20 March 2025, and its own FAQ says the game "requires a connection to our servers in order to play". An old install won't start a match.
Can I download Dead by Daylight Mobile on Android or iPhone? Not officially. It was removed from Google Play and the App Store on 16 January 2025. APK sites still host the file, but the real client can't connect, and modified builds aren't from BHVR or NetEase.
Is there a new Dead by Daylight mobile game? Not as of 7 November 2026. BHVR's Steam news archive back to 2020 has no relaunch or new mobile announcement.
How do I play DBD on my phone? Stream the full game: Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass Ultimate or Premium, GeForce NOW with a Steam or Epic copy, Steam Link from your PC, or PS Remote Play from your PlayStation. Plan on a controller. Xbox lists DBD as controller-only, with no touch controls.
Did my DBD Mobile progress transfer to PC or console? No. Mobile was a separate game. Players got a one-time Welcome Package instead (500,000 Bloodpoints and 2,250 Iridescent Shards for everyone, plus spend and level tiers up to 5,000 Auric Cells and 2 million extra Bloodpoints). It had to be claimed before 20 March 2025.
Can I still get a refund for DBD Mobile? No. The region-specific windows (Taiwan to 19 April 2025, South Korea and Japan to 26 June 2025, the EU/UK 14-day right) have all closed, and other regions never had refunds.
