Tarkov Battle Pass Documents Locations: Where Every TerraGroup Document Spawns (Season 1, 1.1.0.0)

If you loaded into Escape from Tarkov after the August 3, 2026 launch of Season 1: Kord Breach (patch 1.1.0.0), you've probably spent a few raids picking up strange papers labelled "TerraGroup documentation" — and then wondered where the rest of them are. Right now the single most-asked question on r/EscapefromTarkov is "where do the Battle Pass documents spawn?", and a community member has already built a full Documents Tracker map site just to keep up with it.

This guide is the answer to that exact question. Not the Battle Pass overview — we already broke down the rewards, the three document sources, and how to level it fast here — but the part that guide didn't cover: the seven document types, exactly where they spawn on every map, the daily cap you keep hitting, and the fastest farming route to all 501. Every fact below is checked against the official Escape from Tarkov site and the Escape from Tarkov Wiki — no invented spawn coordinates.

Quick answer: where do Tarkov Battle Pass documents spawn?

TL;DR — TerraGroup document locations (Kord Breach, 1.1.0.0): Battle Pass documents spawn as personal loot on every map — nobody can beat you to them or loot them off your corpse. There are 7 document types (Medical, Financial, User, Test, Project, Technical Documentation, and Blueprints), and you need 501 documents total to claim every reward. Spawns are RNG across dozens of spots per map, but they cluster in offices, admin rooms, and key/keycard-locked areas — the coffee hut and TerraGroup offices on Ground Zero, Crackhouse and Dorms on Customs, almost every keycarded office on Labs, and any major building on Streets. You can only find a limited number per day (~25 on a Seasonal character: 15 in the PvE zone + 10 in the PvP zone), and that cap is shared across modes, so you can't farm one map forever. Documents sit in your regular inventory, so dying loses them. Want to skip the RNG? Buy universal Classified Documents from the Expansion Hub, or have a pro run the document farm on your account.

What are TerraGroup documents in Tarkov?

TerraGroup documents are a new loot type added in 1.1.0.0 that act as the "currency" of the free Season 1 Battle Pass. Each reward tier on the pass asks for a set number of a specific document type; hold the required count in your inventory (in any mode) and the reward unlocks everywhere at once. Battlestate Games made the pass's core rules clear at launch:

"With the launch of the Kord Breach season, #EscapefromTarkov will be getting a Battle Pass. It will be free, and every reward can be earned simply through normal gameplay. It will be available across all game modes — Seasonal, PvP, and PvE. Its progression and rewards will also be shared between them." — Battlestate Games (official announcement)

Two properties make documents behave differently from normal loot:

  • They're personal spawns. Like quest items, the documents that appear in your raid are yours. Another player physically cannot grab your document before you, and if you die, the killer doesn't get it — it just disappears with your run.
  • They can't be traded or sold. No flea market, no trader buy-back. The only way to progress is to find them, complete Kord Breach tasks, or kill Black Division operatives — the three sources we cover in the full Battle Pass guide.

Because they're personal, the smart play is to loot the whole raid normally and pick documents up on the way to extract — there's no rush and no competition for them.

The 7 TerraGroup document types

Tarkov's Battle Pass splits documentation into seven categories. Different reward tiers demand different types, so you can't just farm one — you need a spread. According to the in-game item descriptions, User documentation is the "issued to every new TerraGroup employee" paperwork, and it's the most common type you'll bank.

Document typeRarity feelWhere it clusters
User DocumentationMost commonEvery map; offices, admin desks, dorms
Medical DocumentationCommonMed tents, resorts, hospital/health zones
Financial DocumentationCommonCash registers, safes, corporate offices
Test DocumentationUncommonLabs, factory lab areas, research rooms
Project DocumentsUncommonKey-locked offices, TerraGroup buildings
Technical DocumentationRarer / capped lowHigh-tier map zones (Streets, GZ, Labs)
BlueprintsRarerLocked rooms, keycard areas, boss zones

One community-tracked quirk worth knowing: some rarer types have very low per-raid limits. Players report a requirement of roughly 62 Technical Documents while only being able to find one per raid on some maps — so the rare types, not the common ones, are what actually gate your pass completion. Always check the documents section on the right of the Battle Pass screen to see how many of each type you still need before you pick a map.

Where do Battle Pass documents spawn on each map?

Spawns are RNG — no single spot is guaranteed — but after a week of Kord Breach, the community has mapped the reliable clusters. Documents overwhelmingly favour offices, admin/reception areas, resting quarters, and anything behind a locked door. Here's where players are consistently finding them.

Ground Zero

The best low-risk farm for newer players and the map with the most on-theme spawns (it is TerraGroup's HQ):

  • The coffee hut next to the car extract
  • In and around Tarbank
  • The offices around the TerraGroup building
  • Around the Emercom extract tent

Customs

Dense with documents thanks to all the offices and dorms:

  • The library inside Crackhouse
  • The Big Red office (behind a key door)
  • Old Gas station
  • Both 2-storey and 3-storey Dorms, in various rooms
  • Offices in the new warehouse buildings
  • The resting area of Stronghold

For a full breakdown of the map itself, see our Customs map guide.

Streets of Tarkov

If you can survive it, Streets has documents in almost every major building:

  • Cardinal, Concordia, and LexOs apartments
  • Around Klimov
  • Practically any large building on the map

Labs

The highest density of all — but the highest risk:

  • The residential unit
  • Behind almost every keycard-locked door
  • The important offices

If Labs is your farm, our Labs guide covers the keycard doors and extracts you'll want.

Interchange, Factory & the rest

  • Interchange: almost any superstore office, plus the new expansion area outside the main mall (see the Interchange money guide)
  • Factory: the office and laboratory area, the pumping area, the med tent, and Tagilla's office
  • Woods: village houses, the Old Sawmill, and the Scav Bunker
  • Shoreline: anywhere in the Resort, the Pier, Smuggler's Base, Weather Station, and Power Station
  • Lighthouse: the Water Treatment Plant buildings, the chalets, the Lighthouse itself, and the river village houses

The pattern is consistent across every location: think offices, think locked rooms. If a building looks corporate, admin, or medical, check it.

Why do documents stop spawning? The daily cap explained

This is the mechanic that confuses most players. There is a hard daily limit on how many documents you can find, and it's shared across game modes. On a Seasonal character you can loot roughly 25 per day — about 15 in the PvE zone and 10 in the PvP zone — and once you hit it, documents simply stop appearing in your raids. As the wiki notes, if you collect 10 in PvE and then swap to Seasonal, you'll only be able to grab around 15 more before the shared cap locks you out.

So "grind one map for twelve hours" does nothing. The efficient routine is:

  • Check the Battle Pass screen for which types you still need.
  • Run 2–3 raids on a map that spawns those types until you feel the pickups dry up (that's the cap).
  • Extract alive — remember, documents are in your regular inventory, so a bad extract wipes the run.
  • Come back tomorrow.

At ~25/day against a 501-document total, a pure looting grind is a multi-week project — Reddit math puts it around 20 days on Seasonal if you hit the cap daily, or roughly 50 days playing only PvE. That's exactly why the two "shortcut" methods below matter.

How to farm documents faster (Black Division + Classified Documents)

Two levers cut the grind dramatically:

  • Hunt Black Division operatives. Certain Black Division enemies drop documents on death, and those drops don't drain your personal daily cap the same way loose loot does. The Wedge boss in The Lab and roaming Black Division squads are the densest kill-for-documents sources in the game — if you can win the fight.
  • Buy Classified Documents. The Expansion Hub sells universal Classified Documents (bought with TarCoins) that count as any document type. They're the intended way to top off the last few rare documents — a stack of Technical or Blueprints you can't find fast enough — without waiting out the cap.

If you'd rather not spend three weeks alive-and-extracting on Labs and Streets, the fastest path is to have someone else eat the risk: a Tarkov leveling & raid boost runs the document farm and Kord Breach tasks on your account, and a Kappa & quest boost clears the seasonal task line that hands documents as rewards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do TerraGroup documents spawn in Escape from Tarkov? On every map, as personal loot, concentrated in offices, admin and medical rooms, dorms, and behind key/keycard-locked doors. Ground Zero (coffee hut, TerraGroup offices), Customs (Crackhouse, Dorms, Big Red office), Labs (keycarded offices), and Streets (most major buildings) are the most reliable clusters. Spawns are RNG, so no single spot is guaranteed.

How many Battle Pass documents do you need in total? You need 501 documents across all types to claim every reward on the Season 1 Kord Breach Battle Pass. The rarer types — Technical Documentation and Blueprints — gate completion because you can find only a few per raid, so check the Battle Pass screen to see what you're short on.

Why did my documents stop spawning? You've hit the daily cap. On a Seasonal character you can find about 25 documents per day (roughly 15 in the PvE zone, 10 in the PvP zone), shared across modes. Once you reach it, documents stop appearing until the daily reset — grinding more raids that day won't help.

Can other players steal my Battle Pass documents? No. Documents are personal spawns, like quest items. Other players can't loot them before you at the start of a raid, and they don't drop off your body when you die — they simply vanish with the run, which is why extracting alive matters.

What's the fastest way to farm TerraGroup documents? Kill Black Division operatives (their document drops don't drain your personal daily cap the way loose loot does), complete the Kord Breach seasonal tasks, and top off rare types with Classified Documents from the Expansion Hub. Purely looting to the daily cap takes around 20 days on Seasonal.

Are the Battle Pass documents worth grinding? Yes — the rewards are permanent and carry across all modes, and unlike most extraction-shooter passes the Kord Breach Battle Pass is completely free. But because documents sit in your regular inventory and are lost on death, the grind rewards survival and good kit, not just raid volume.
