Battlefield 6 has exploded out of the gate, setting franchise records and pulling in millions of players in its first days. Instead of relying on the initial success, EA is moving immediately into a packed post-launch plan. The first batch of new content will be available within the next few weeks.
When Does Battlefield 6 Season 1 Start?
Season 1 begins Tuesday, October 28, 2025, across all platforms. EA's roadmap breaks the season into three drops:
- Rogue Ops (October 28)
- California Resistance (November 18)
- Winter Offensive (December 9)
Each phase adds at least one headline map or mode plus armaments and quality-of-life extras. Everything listed below is free for all players. You can watch the official Battlefield 6 Season 1 trailer below to get a first look at the new maps, weapons, and vehicles in action.
Battlefield 6 New Maps
Blackwell Fields
- Arrives with Rogue Ops on October 28.
A recently recommissioned air base in the California badlands, designed as an open, vehicle-friendly battlefield. Strike teams clash across oil pumps, access roads, and dusty ridgelines, with support for all combat sizes and both land and air vehicles. Expect classic Battlefield sandboxes: armor pushes, helo runs, and long-range lanes for snipers.
Eastwood
- Arrives with California Resistance on November 18.
An affluent suburban community stitched to a golf course, tranquil on the surface, now riddled with sleeper cells and close-to-mid-range fights. Land vehicles and helicopters are in, but visibility and sightlines favor coordinated infantry play.
Ice Lock Empire State
- Arrives with Winter Offensive on December 9.
A limited-time winter update that blankets Brooklyn's Empire State battlefield in snow and introduces environmental threats tied to a seasonal "Freeze" modifier. Think frozen fronts, altered routes, and a fresh read on control points.
Battlefield 6 Season 1: Modes, Weapons, and Vehicle
Modes
- Strikepoint (4v4, single-life rounds): Multi-round objective mode where two squads fight to capture a single point. (October 28)
- Sabotage (8v8, attack/defend LTM): Teams alternate on offense and defense to destroy as many sites as possible before time expires. (November 18)
Weapons
Phase 1 (October 28 Launch)
- SOR-300C (Carbine, .300 Blackout): Lower fire-rate, hard-hitting compact carbine.
- Mini Fix (Bolt-action Sniper): Lightweight, fast-cycling rifle built for aggressive recon.
- GGH-22 (Sidearm): High-capacity, fast-firing pistol.
Phase 2 (November 18 Launch)
- DB-12 (Dual-barrel Pump Shotgun): Twin-tube pump shotgun firing each barrel sequentially before rechambering both.
- M327 "Trait" (Revolver, 8-shot): High damage, low fire-rate.
Phase 3 (December 9 Launch)
- Ice Climbing Axe: A new melee option that also interacts with destructible pieces.
Attachments
- Rail Cover and LPVO land in October.
- Slim Handstop arrives in November.
Three modifiers that meaningfully tweak draw speed, optics flexibility, and handling.
Vehicle
Phase 1 (October 28 Launch)
- APC Traverser Mark 2: Four-seater infantry support APC with a driver, a roof gunner, and two passenger-side gunner seats.
Battle Pass and Rewards System

Season 1 introduces a new Battle Pass built around four progress paths. Completing all four unlocks a fifth bonus tier filled with exclusive cosmetics and XP rewards. Players can earn experience through daily challenges, match performance, and seasonal objectives. Everything tied to gameplay, including maps, modes, weapons, and vehicles, remains free for all players while the Battle Pass focuses purely on customization and progression.
Free vs. Premium Battle Pass Content
The free track offers universal rewards such as weapon charms, profile icons, and XP boosts that anyone can earn just by playing. The premium track adds unique operator outfits, weapon skins, vehicle cosmetics, and other high-end visuals. Players who purchase the premium pass automatically unlock new tiers faster and gain access to premium-exclusive challenges for extra XP.
Phantom Edition Bonuses
Players who own the Phantom Edition receive the premium Battle Pass for Season 1 at no additional cost along with exclusive cosmetic bonuses. These include a rare operator skin, weapon blueprint, and a limited vehicle decal themed around the Phantom set. Phantom owners also gain early access to each seasonal drop, allowing them to start progressing through rewards before standard players.
For now, that's the complete picture of BF6 Season 1. It's poised to deliver abundant new content, offering players gateway to fresh gameplay. For full official information including phase names, dates, and itemized content you can see EA's Season 1 Roadmap Preview.
